    i appreciate the effort, but maybe you should try: 1. explaining why one might wish to save their FX chain - maybe because it's time-saving, it might help you create more cohesive sounds, it's great for iterative sound design, etc 2. shorten your video and bring a concise thesis to the table in the first 10 seconds. You spent like half a minute saying "save your FX chains" and that's it.

    david i think it would be cool if you would set up some sort of community server in something like discord, for people who follow your channel to join and hang out in and talk about sound design

    Does Stratus3D have enough options for outdoor reverb? I noticed that there is too few outdoor reverb plugins. I myself know only Soundly Place It and some very legacy 32bit glitchy free plugin that's even removed from author's site

    great advice about shortening the feedback loop, i tend to plan out big recording sessions which makes it so daunting to go back and listen to my own recordings 😅

    That’s a great way to layer sounds! With synth you could also use different wavetables to add textures!

    What is that spectogram you're using?

    in my opinion it might not always be the best idea to layer as much sounds as possible, because you might blur the distinct character recording this way. Maybe sometimes one recording might be exactly what you need and more metallic layers would convolute it, making it sound less clean. it might limit you to creating only "over the top"-sounds with a very high intensity and great spectral information. I dont mean this to criticize you, just something everyone should keep in mind! Of course your way is still a great workflow for many complex and interesting sounds in a short amount of time!

    Video/newsletter idea - listing your XX most used plugins, maybe sorted by the use case (like the subharmonic enhancer in this video, I wouldn't have thought about it!)? I mean, aside from the obvious big boys like PhasePlant, NVK and such, it would be nice to have a comprehensive list & a refresher on what you're currently using these days, even rarely. Asking mostly because I like your workflow & I'm doing some VST cleanup on my end :)

    David, thanks for your generosity in sharing your process! Can I ask if you deem Stereolab as capable of doing everything ReCenter does? I've been wondering what plugin options come close to ReCenter for some time now.

    • @daviddumaisaudio
      @daviddumaisaudio 9 днів тому

      yea almost. Stereolab definitely has more flexibility than recenter, but the one thing is doesn't do is 'repair' the stereo image. Recenter actually 'repairs' off-center audio to keep everything centered while keeping the original stereo width. Stereolab doesn't do that.

    • @MattStevens9824
      @MattStevens9824 9 днів тому

      @@daviddumaisaudio Thank you for your take on both plugins, David! I think I'll need to purchase ReCenter after all.

    Amazing David! What is the action list to select al the clips that are in the same lane?

    • @daviddumaisaudio
      @daviddumaisaudio 9 днів тому

      If I'm not mistaken, it's a script from nvk_workflow where you can double click a track and it selects all clips on that track.

    Hi David. Great video as always. I have the X8. It is huge and it comes with a pair of included mics. They sound great and I can easily record in stereo. Also, the included mics can capture up to around 70kHz (as far as I can tell in RX). And 32-bit float recording is no brainer if you want to record very fast without caring audio clipping because you would edit and de-noise later anyway so normalize the recordings later altogether.
