I love your sound design stuff. Thanks for sharing!
whaat granular synthesizer did u use to play the pouring sound in?
Cool!
Whats The app you used
This is great, but the first source still uses channels 1/2 which means all sources are going to it. Would be great to figure out a way to get source 1 to take channels 3/4, source 2 take 5/6, etc... This is the same issue I noticed with Spin Tracer, but at least with that plugin you can mute individual orbs, but that means two of the 16 orbs have no sound on them, so it's still not a great solution.
Hey David, thanks a lot for sharing and being real about everything. Sounds like it hasn't been "a dance on roses", as we say in danish, and that's somehow comforting to hear - or maybe sobering is a better word for it. And gz on your new child, wish the best for yall ✌
Hi David, thank you as per usual for these amazing videos, I just really wanted to ask what made you move from nuendo to reaper? I’m a nuendo user at the moment and seeing that you used to use cubase/nuendo as well, I was wondering if there is something specific about reaper that made you move? And also if there is something you miss about nuendo that reaper doesn’t have?
Hmmmm, as a competitive archer those sounds do not sound very realistic - sorry. The bulk of the sound will come from the bow, not the arrow.
I think you’re appropriating the video to your specific context. If the goal is to have a realistic arrow sound, just record someone shooting a bow. Sound design can be more of an art form than a rigid “just for realism” thing. Especially when you start building sound palettes for digital media like video games. Having a cohesive soundscape is much more effective and stylistic than simply going for realism. If the goal is realism, yes, the sounds don’t really fit, like you wouldn’t hear the tremolo as it flies away. But the point is not realism, and you’ve completely missed the art of it all.
Thanks
these sound very digital. how do you make stuff thats fitting to more realistic scenes or shows, like game of thrones?
dont get me wrong they sound good tho.
@@Voltraxfr field recording or sample sourcing
@@Voltraxfr the most realistic is always gonna be just recording a real bow and arrow
brilliant combinations. ❤🎉
Nice!
非常棒的教学!
Thanks a lot for amazing video. keep it up 🎉
Also how to isolate sounds
Where do u do sound design?
Something that i have done when it comes to the monitors is to simply stack them. I find this to work way better for me because in may case a side by side setup would result in a wider stereo image(way more than they currently are).
I have a very noob question. What if I recorded sound materials at 192kHz and wanna do post production to chop and normalize for making audio samples, should my DAW project sample rate be at always 192kHz or can I stay in 44.1kHz and change to 192kHz when only exporting the audio?
Hello, to however is reading this, how much income you can get from this? Is it worth it?
i noticed in my room adding a carpet really helped reduce any reverb
Thank you, David! Very helpful thoughts and advices
Amazing work bro support from puerto rico
Congratulations on the new family member!
congratulations on your baby david.
Thanx David and congratulations on the addition to your family!
thanks <3
Maybe talk slower next time.
Put the playback speed at .75
11:00 you can't do a lot with midi in reaper. LOL Nice video tho
What can it not do that you would like it to do?
This'll be great for posting game audio packages in case I don't do the implementation.
Hello David I just found this interview and I got to tell thats its really really helpful and thanks a lot for bringing this awesome man to educate us. Im currently thinking about my audio production degree dissertation and this really helps a lot !
About flexibility: I've been telling people Reaper is an excellent second DAW. Once you know what you want, you can set up Reaper to do it, you just have to know what you want.
Hi David, firstly I’d like to say thank you for all the videos you share with us! I not only learn so much from your videos but I also get inspired all the time. I have a few questions that I’d really appreciate if you could answer, firstly, I’ve watched your videos on why you choose Reaper as your DAW, but it seems like you keep on mentioning that it’s good for “game” sound design, would it be any different for let’s say film/commercial sound design? I see that Reaper is popular for game sound design but it still seems like for film sound design it’s still mainly Nuendo/Pro Tools and was wondering if there was any specific reason for this. Also, when you’re doing sound design synthesis, is there a reason why you choose PhasePlant for certain cases and Vital for another? Thank you so much in advance!
vital has more flexibility with lfos and stuff,
Lavos sound
Very helpful!
Your workflow is very inspiring, i learn so much with you ! keep up the good work 💪
the second track child was still routed to the master
Exactly wat i have been looking for Thank you so much man :)
What theme do you use for Reaper? I love the way it looks. My plugin area looks different too lol. Another great video btw!
Love your content! Do you have any recommendations for those of us that want to just post a free pack somewhere?
Hey David, just out of curiosity, what audio interface are you using day to day?
he has a studio tour, go check that out.
Good tips! I'd like to add a reminder to try and level match your sound and the references being used as much as possible before comparing. A louder sound gives the perception of better quality and can mislead us in this comparison process.
