It is more important than ever for our voices to be heard and our work to go out into the world. Thanks for your encouragement and inspiration. I started tiny drawings daily because of your post-it video.
You're so right! We need to share our voices and share our messages. So excited you've started the post-it drawings! Keep it up, and thanks for your comment :)
🤩This video is so inspiring! Love the art and the storytelling! Muchas gracias!! 💗
That's wonderful to hear! You're welcome :)
Rhiannon when you stated put the 100 days of drawings on the wall... that pushed me out of my shell because ~ no one knows what's in my sketchbook right??? Anyway putting them on the wall was a step to showing and sharing... IDK if I would be able to do what you are doing by putting all of this online, but knowing that you did... helps me know that I can at least put them on the wall in my office in my house. :) Thank you for sharing you... you are seen... and I so appreciate you.
Thank you for your lovely comment! I'm so pleased to hear you have your art on the wall, Lawrence. That IS sharing! And hopefully it encourages you to create more. I have only just started sharing publicly after working privately for many years, and it's not for everyone. Keep doing what you feel inspired to do :)
Thank you ❤
You're welcome! And thank you for your comment
Really good advice!!
Working across different media is different from not having a style. Your style is still your style whether you’re drawing, painting or printing.
True, thanks for sharing.
I absolutely agree 😊
🥰
Thanks! :)
I love all that stuff on your wall. Ooo! All those drawings, collage etc are wonderful!
Thank you so much!
I sometimes feel like you are speaking directly to me... thank you for showing me how to show compassion for past me... I liked that you said in paraphrase "that you are using art as a place to put those feelings"... I am too now. Thank you Rhiannon.
Thank you for sharing, Lawrence! I'm so glad this resonated with you.
I love the idea of this. It's so rewarding to simply get started!
That's great to hear!
Loved this video, thank you. Very inspiring, will have to make a little zine of my own ❤
@@ruthbaxter5918 so good to hear!
I'm so glad you showed up Rhiannon... your Post it Note Theory spoke to me and continues to do so... I'm on day 14... have not ever drawn 14 days straight before. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!!!
@@lawrencerodgers2074 that’s awesome!! Well done!
I feel so inspired after seeing your beautiful work! I often hold on to my art to use later, either adding to it or using it in another capacity. But I’m going to be a lot more mindful as I go through my stashes now, especially as I’m still figuring out my “style”. Thank you for sharing! ✨❤
Love this! Thanks for sharing
Oh I thought i was the only one that threw it away. I started putting it in a folder and shutting it. Always come back to later
Great to hear, thanks for sharing!
Okokok... i was going to put all the art in a book which I had promised myself I would flip through until I watched this video. You are right... putting it on the wall helps me to confront myself about the bad art... Thank you for making this and for sharing it.
Definitely do what works best for you - I like the wall method. Great that you're going to revisit your art works. Thanks for sharing!
I did this back i n yr 12, I had some cheap post-it notes. I would make various colour patterns with the highlighters n kept it in a cheap book. I would draw something in class or during lunch. Sometimes my classmates contributed to the book. After, I finished the book I stopped. I still have the book.
Love this! Maybe it's time to revisit it? Thanks for sharing.
Such an easy brilliant way to just get started.
Yay, thanks!
I like what you did with your little art work. Using magazines is a great idea.
Thank you!
I really like how you are able to put a visual on a feeling. Your art speaks to me. Thank you again for creating this and sharing.
Really appreciate your kind words :)
I really like the way that you express your emotions in an artistic way... I don't think I can draw that well but the collaging with magazine clips and other sources seems that I too can be creative too. Thank you for making this and sharing... you are very brave...
Thank you!
Thank you for making this video... It does make a difference to me and is helpful...it was hard hearing you say over and over again that I matter... that's a tough lesson to learn for me... but I'm starting to believe it... sort of... lol... I love your 100Day Challenge... buying your book tonight and starting in a couple days... Building my wall of 100 post it notes 1st then I can start.. Thank you for sharing this video.
Thank you for your comment, Lawrence, and for supporting me! I know it's hard to hear but these are all lessons I'm learning too and art is a great place to start practising it. Can't wait to hear how your 100 days of post-its go.
I think you and I are very similar. I kind of want to draw better and better, but it can sometimes be the little steps that I miss. I am trying to do more now. I can go through a month where I have done a few drawings a day and then I might have a bit of a break. I am finding with even half an hour, I can actually get a really decent sketch out and can learning and improving.
That's awesome! I agree, and have seasons of creating and seasons of breaks when it feels right. I'm glad the small steps are helping you to create more.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Rhiannon! Just wanted to say that you’re doing a great job! It’s gotta be hard starting out on UA-cam but you DEFINITELY have some original and helpful ideas 😊 I’ve seen so many videos on the importance of a daily art practice but never seem to be able to follow thru on it but I’ve already put your post it tip into practice… thank you! ❤
I want to second the comment from @damariswawak2880 ! You do have some “original and helpful ideas”, Rhiannon, and bravo for starting this UA-cam channel! So many UA-cam videos on “how to fill your sketchbook” or “50 drawing prompts” but few actually address the issue of how to approach the hardest part of drawing day to day-finding an idea in the first place. So thank you!
Thank you so much, this is very encouraging and I'm so pleased to hear you've found the post it tip helpful! Keep creating!
@@djherman680 Thank you for your kind words! I hope it helps get you creating more often.
Great idea 💡
Thank you!
Great suggestion, I have a ton of extra pages in this year's bujo and now I think I want to fill them with sticky note doodles! Thanks for this!
Far out! 😊
Today I came across a journaling prompt that resonated with me: "If I loved myself enough, I would ...." Your video is very encouraging. Thank you. It's important to make some selfish art. 💕
Ooh this is a great prompt, would love to hear your answer to it. "If I loved myself enough, I would... create my art"
@@rhiannonjamesart If I loved myself enough, I would allow myself to make my silly selfish art more often because it's medicine for the soul. ✨
@@dorotheakenneweg Ahh this is beautiful. So true (your art is medicine for the soul)
Rhiannon, you DID add value to my world through this video and your thoughts. Thank you. I have watched this video several times, taken notes, am continuing to reflect and ponder on the many points which really resonated with me... "We all need someplace to put our thoughts, expressions.... by making art, i am giving to others the fullest version of me...." Thank you for this video . Truly. 🎨❤
Oh yay! This comment is so beautiful, thank you. So pleased it resonated!
The biggest disservice social media has done to anyone wanting to make art is that there are so many sharing their "Sketch books" as though they are pieces of art. A sketch book is something you keep with you and scribble ideas down into whenever those creative thoughts stray through your head. It looks a mess, it's purpose is to keep sparking those creative urges. Start doing this and you will soon find that the half baked whips of ideas in that sketch book will set the gears turning next time you sit down with time to create. You should NEVER think you are about to create 'a finished piece' either. That phrase should only be tripping through your head after a long period of trying all sorts of experimentations, then, one day, you put down the tools and know you are looking at a finished piece. There were probably many discarded versions before you got to that. Social media puts too much emphasis on the finished pice because it's something TO SELL and everything has become about selling. Forget the finished pice and you will find the creative process so much more enjoyable... and along the way you will encounter many 'finished pieces'
Seeing people's sketchbooks is my favourite part! I love learning about other artist's processes and seeing how they got to where they are now. But yes, I hear you on the pressure to sell or have a finished piece every time you pick up your pen. Thankfully, we still get to decide when a piece is 'finished art'. Appreciate your thoughts and for sharing!
Having a daily creative practice with very low stakes is so life-changing. ❤ Such an inspiring video! Welcome to youtube!
Thank you Lisa!
Believe in the finished redemptive work of GOD Jesus Christ on the cross alone for the remission of all your sins (past, present and future) and eternal life! I Corinthians 15:3-4, “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: John 3:16. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Romans 5:8. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me.” (John 14:6) “When you declare with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart God raised Him by from the dead you will be saved. For with the heart man believes and is justified and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” ( Romans 10:9-10) (We don’t need to do anything to earn GODS salvation or love. He just wants us to believe.) Ephesians 2:8-9 New King James Version 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. Romans 3:27-28 Boasting Excluded 27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law. (We cannot lose salvation) Romans 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Isaiah 53 in the Bible, clearly shows what LORD Jesus Christ would do for you and all humanity on the cross to save your soul through simple acceptance in Him and His sacrifice and resurrection on your behalf to save your soul from hell and forgive you forever by FAITH ALONE!!! Not of any effort!
I love this SO much & I’m starting while my water boils tomorrow morning for sure! It’s the perfect teeny goal for my ADHD mind & im already betting that I’ll probably wind up spending lots of time on this, in no time. Thanks so much!!!
Yay! Exactly, small goals go a long way. Did you draw a line while the water boiled?
I love your artworks, their so interesting, explanatory, and packed with emotion. And they're also drawn so well. 🩷💜‼️ Thanks for this idea, I think I'll try it. 🫂👍🏼👍🏼😁💜
Thank you for such kind words!
I've been getting migraines for 20 years now. It's so exhausting. Ive tried so many different things. I'm going to go on the look out now someone who can do this test. Sounds amazing and I've been having all sorts of suspicions in line with what you've experienced - thanks for the info!!
Firstly, I'm so sorry you've been suffering for so long! Migraines are incredibly draining, it's no way to live. If you can't find the test, I'd also recommend kinesiology to see what might be the underlying reason. Migraines can feel like your body screaming at you that something is wrong. Good luck!
This video was really lovely and encouraging ❤

When my daughter, now 20, was about 8, she had a teacher who gave the students a paper with a doodle. It was only a line, never straight. The kids would draw and elaborate on the one squiggle of a line. I have awesome drawings from my daughter. Her imagination was so incredible to me.
