Living quarters progress - horse trailer project part 5
Thanks for this man!
I bought one at the beginning of hurricane season here in Southwest Florida caught it on sale at Walmart for $$299 I figured for that price you can’t go wrong. It is a really nice generator. It’s not as quiet as the Honda I have but for that price point you simply can’t complain.
nicely done report with T5 as winner... Is this CK4 formula?? Flash point temp is interesting to know
These are the CK4 but one thing to note is T4 has since become a synthetic blend like T5. I would guess the main difference is better additive pack in T5 now.
I am not sure I understand the mechanics of the locking mechanism (??), thats a tight slot to have to manipulate a padlock into the u bolt... Please clarify how this opens and locks... If you could please.
Did you have less wear on truck or trailer tires this time vs last? Difference in when trailer axle bearings were packed?
Howdy! 🫡 I bought a used ‘20 Dodge Ram 3500 SRW H.O. Aisin with 30k miles. The wheels are 20x10 and the tires are 36x20x15.50. I’ve been chasing my tail trying to figure out why my truck shifts like crap when taking off & or under heavy acceleration. Almost like it revs high between gears but the top end seems to be alright. It’s just the low end of the gearing. I get beat by Prius’s all the time. Wtf. What do you suggest I’m dealing with? Thank you for reading this and thank you for any advice you can offer. 🤜🏼🤛🏼
The height and weight of your tires factors in I’d say. 15.5 is super wide (adds weight) and 36 is quite tall as well.
@@OutpostCTD My buddy thought the same thing. Do you think if I went with a 35x20x13.50 tire that it would make a difference?
@@RyanMr6.7 I think you’d notice a difference. When I went from 35 to 33 I noticed a difference in my acceleration. Got a bump in fuel mileage also.
Which additive did your truck feel the best with? (Smooth, power, driving experience overall)
Yes distilled water only
So i took off the Def Tank, and now i got coolant leaking, how do i block those off?
Good vodeo.
Great video. Quick questions- do you have trouble accelerating after 70 mph. I have an 03 Cummins and it accelerates really slowly after 70 mph, making it a pain if you have to pass any cars. If I am doing 70 mph and then put the pedal to the floor, it takes a good amount of time to even get up to 80 mph. The truck does not hesitate or cut out, it seems to run really smoothly, just slow to accelerate. Thanks for any help!
Mine is decently quick for what it is at those speeds. I’m a bit more sluggish accelerating at lower speeds then when I hit overdrive it picks up nicely. But at 70+ you’ve got a lot of air resistance fighting you.
@@OutpostCTD Thanks, any idea what it could be? Maybe APPS or a battery/electrical issue? I feel like if it was fuel it would cut out or something.
2015 you recommend yes or not
I'll be a son-of-a… Just did this to fix my '14. I sprayed into the tank with a garden hose while the pump was out, and flushed out a ton of gunk while I was in there. Thinking about flushing it vinegar, then distilled water, and letting it dry completely before I put fluid back in it.
Mine won't stay on, it has the overload light on, anyone has an advice?
Go Bills.
Sorry, first thing I noticed was the AC in the window, and then he says it's down in the 20s last night. 🤦
Are you running a coolant filter on your setup?
I have a lot of codes😢
What does it mean if this reset doesnt work and it still shows empty, even though you just put gas in it
I was going to be yanking my transmission to do a throwout bearing tomorrow thinking that was the reason… Thank you for saving me so much unnecessary aggravation😂
is that inlet or return?
You should put a aftermarket grill and put rain guard's
It dont matter about these analysis...ive watched so many of these things people saying they sent off virgin samples of t4,t5 and t6 and everyones are so different if there all the same oil sent to same testing place why are the numbers so drastically different...just like yours says the t5 has 58 moly i just watched another said t5 only has 2 moly ?? Calcium on yours says 1717 the other i just watched says like 2200 calcium..So everybody numbers are wildly different and t4 is not a conventional oil either look it up on shell site it says t4 is a synthetic blend
Interesting that you pointed out about T4. You are right that it’s a synthetic blend. After doing some research I found that shell reformulated it from a conventional to synthetic blend beginning in 2021, right around the same time I was taking my samples. I believe my sample predates the changeover though unless I had one of the very first bottles of the blended t4.
@@OutpostCTD...yeah I thought it was conventional till I seen it on another post and showed the page from shell
I’m confused how do I know if I have the 47 or 48 ? I got a 05 2500 ?
You’ll have the 48, by 05 the 47 was gone. I think it might have just been the 03 standard outputs that got the 47.
I'm on my second set, BEST TIRES I've ever run
Do you need to remove the whole system..Could you just block Egr at the intake?
Why is 09 underrated?
The only analysis you need to know about diesel oil in general is that the film strength is only about half of that of gas blend oils.
What were the problems you were having that drove this replacement?
I changed all my bulbs and still beeps so annoying
You might have to swap out the circuit boards if the bulbs don’t do it.
There is a 2500 2010 dodge gas with 280 thousand miles need transmission for 6000 $ got hit on the side of the box not to bad I wonder if is a good prize anybody?
Best thing to do is fill up with water then check for a leak,,if there's no leak you can fill up with antifreeze
How does this work with the 3.0 in line 6 Duramax?
Works with all diesel engines
Is this the one that was your pop's old truck?
How do you know things are first second or third generation you go by the trucks here?
Bought this generator. Worked well for a few uses. Now it won't run for more than 10 seconds. Messing with the Carb, but no help. Not happy with it.
Stop using ethanol, it's for drinking NOT burning!
ive only used mine 1 time for maybe 5 hrs and its already making a pop noise when i turn off😩
@@Can.doTewMuch it's a crummy generator. Not really worth paying someone $200 to fix it. I went and bought a Craftman. Never buying a Pulsar ever again, usless it is a Pulsar Laser.
You’re steering wheel does the clicking sound too? I can’t figure out what it is on mine.
I believe it is the clock spring that does it. Mine has been doing that for the last 200k miles haha.
Great video, I’m moving south and plan on getting a 5.9!
Congratulations on 10 years of ownership. Thanks for the update…good to see the 5.9 is still going strong at 437k 👍
Hey brother you should consider deleting the grid heater and update it if needed that bolt only needs to come loose once
Thanks for update!! You don’t know how helpful this has been!!
Have you never changed the injectors to this truck? Thank you.
Have you thought about any other mods? Maybe if you never plan to sell or get a new A/C remove that A/c boat anchor material…. Free space, relieve weight and make it easier to work on truck….. What about removing the coolant/heat exchanger before it leaks on a trip or while camping ⛺️ during fishing trip
I've owned a 4th Gen over 10 years and when you think about cost of ownership it's easy to keep driving these old goats. Payments are crap
Nice update. Keep it if you can. Always available if the 09 gets the flu. My lemon will be scrapped soon. Yours will last a long time, well at least till the car cancer turns terminal. 😉 . 2👍' up. Z
Thank you for the update. I have an 06. 🙂
For me, my '03 Ram 5.9L (I bought it new in '03) is my only truck, so it makes financial sense for me to keep it running and in good shape. It makes absolutely no financial sense for me to even think about a new truck, considering the prices these days. But I am 73 years old and retired, and my truck only has about 165,000 original miles on it, so it should last me the rest of my life. Had it painted not too long ago. I sometimes think about returning to a gasser, because it's hard to find a good diesel mechanic when we are cross country on an RV trip, but after looking at all the plusses and minuses, I haven't done it. I figure that for the $30,000 to $40,000 cost difference between keeping my truck and getting a new gasser, I can just put whatever money it takes to keep mine going and still be ahead. Auto's are a depreciating investment anyway. Thanks for your insights, and keep up the videos.
I think hit the nail on the head!!
I have a 2004…. 175K…. Hopefully I’ll get 500K
Your trucks are super awesome! Don't ever sell them! This truck is still very restorable for sure. With the care You give your trucks it will out last You no problem.👍
My 2003 2500 high output truck is still a beast. 6speed no emissions is hard to beat in a diesel!
Glad to see the trucks still running strong!! Hopefully we’ll see another 100,000+ miles out of it!
What tires are those? Toyo…?? Im due for a set and I like the look of those. Thanks
