    If you live in any climate where the temp varies or you idle or drive around town lots Use T6 full sy. change oil at 5000 miles.Talking about small 6.7 engines DSL.Another one if you live in cold Canada you pay 100000 for a new pickup for god sake put a S bar heater on your engine 2400 dollars When you start your engine 150 degree F water temp even the oil and metal is warm.Cant believe in cold Canada ever one with a DSL engine dont have one.When 75 percent engine damage is cold start.Change your air filter spring and fall.Save your self alot of problems if you own a 6.7.Going to put a DSL interior in next cut ID time.Plus dog will stay warm in winter.

    So the G05 is red??? Had a flush done on mine. old coolant was red and they said that when they flushed it they used the G05 to put back in but when I looked, it was still the same red color like it was never flushed. Highly confused so any clarification would be extremely helpful!

    Ive owned a 96 12v, a 94 24v 59 and now Also own an 08 6.7 which was deleted when warranty ran out but it's only had the dpf filter not def.. 6.7 will out perform the 5.9 and not much difference in design.. I love the exhaust brake and prefer a vgt turbo but I'm not out here trying to make a race truck either

    Really like the discussion format, I feel like it lets you drop some nuggets of wisdom you would’ve otherwise missed. Like you’re kind of thinking on the fly and new ideas become more apparent as you’re thinking through your dialogue. I am in need of a one ton dialog for the weed control and fertilization side of lawn care business. I think I’m just buying an old Cummins ram and rebuilding it for longevity. I’m going to try and find one with low miles so I can avoid repairing all the normal stuff on a 300k mile plus truck unless it’s been meticulously maintained and documented. All the new stuff terrifies me to have to pay another shop a fortune to work on, never mind how expensive they are. Appreciate all your time and wisdom sir!

    Being a full synthetic, the T6 probably doesn't need as many additives. And being a full synthetic the T6 probably will last longer than the others (higher TBN). The Boron, Phosphorous & Zinc are probably close enough to call them analysis deviations.

    I did four new air shocks (Arnott) and all the control arms except the front lowers on my 2004 XJR. Think I need to do those next! Did you jack the suspension up to normal ride height to tighten all control arm bolts?

    • @OutpostCTD
      @OutpostCTD 23 дні тому

      Yep I used a second jack to prop everything up to roughly ride height

    • @kelbymorgan
      @kelbymorgan 23 дні тому

      @ I did the same. Also, I had to jack the suspension up to tighten the nut on the upper ball joint, otherwise it kept spinning. Great job on keeping another XJ on the road! I’ve troubleshot a lot of oddball issues on mine if you ever need to bounce ideas with someone- lots of head scratchers with these cars lol.

    Bio diesel is not good for your sealing parts. O-rings, gaskets, hoses and seals will disintegrate. Its also a solvent and will transport gunk to your filters and injectors. Not good. Because bio-diesel has oxygen in its chemistry, when it burns it creates water. This contaminates your oil, so change it more often. Never use bio in the winter because it gels badly. What you want to use is Renewable diesel. This is completely different than bio and better in every way. For now put hot shot lube additive in since renewable has no sulfur and there is no mandate to meet a lubricity standard.

    As I heard before there is no much difference in ride quality when switching from air suspension to coils, I wonder if that is true. Then why to have air suspension?

    • @OutpostCTD
      @OutpostCTD 25 днів тому

      I think the air suspension on these cars was dynamic where it would adjust based on driving conditions to give better handling, but I find that this car remains quite athletic with the coils.

    This is very interesting. Is there any concern at all that the lab would have any reason to miss represent to protect the intellectual property of the band? How did you label the sample, brand new oil or did you put 1000 miles or something? Not saying they would be dishonest, but its very cool and id like to hope its 100 percent on point. Would like to see all major oil’s stacked up together. New for new

      I will ask too, i know t4 has been proven to flow better cold than t6 and basically all its competitors. Thats been pretty well tested. What makes its higher viscosity not appeal to you at 212 vs the lower at 212??? For me id prefer higher, its just about oil flow but its about the strength of the oil film. Thats your protection to wear items. A big oil pan and a thoughtful return design overcomes slower drain back, and id prefer a more robust oil film protecting my parts, which goes hand in had with hot viscosity in my opinion. Do you have a specific reason why this wouldnt be so?

    That's why they had the dual mass flywheels I believe. Switch to a solid flywheel there will be some noise and vibration at lower rpms. With a full face organic disk and sprung hub it should be not excessive. My Luk setup which included the flywheel was much quieter than the more aggressive metallic disk clutch that was in there when I bought the truck. A fluidamper crankshaft pulley would probably help a lot on a diesel.

    I have a 2003 Ram 2500 5.9HO NV5600 6 speed, it has 360,000 miles and still has the original diesel injection pump, original injectors, original clutch, and original power steering pump, it does need a little work but it runs great, and when I drove across New Mexico doing 65 with no load I got a calculated 33.8 mpg, when I had to tow my friends 2008 Chevy 2500 Duramax 200 miles I got 20 mpg and barely felt the load
