    And to think that a few centuries later, one of Clarence's decendents would become President of the United Federation of Planets.

    Did Clarence have season tickets to Tigers or just watch/listen to every game. Very impressive for him to attend 81 games a year and be unofficial crime boss of old Detroit

    One of the most ruthless and smart villains in movie history.. also he got an advantage that other villains never had.. he got style and looked like a decent man if he was quiet..!

    Did you know Clarence Boddicker was based on a real life terrorist known as Carlos the Jackal, who was known for throwing a live grenade in a crowded marketplace?

    Robocop is a great film! You would wonder if cyborgs can exist. Im thinking 👎 no. Thats probably not realistic, cause how can you make a dead person live again right? Ha ha! Robocop is like creating a Frankenstein and putting it back together to live again and program it to do the dirty work! In real life only Jesus can perform such a task!😂

    No remake is really made quite the same. Usually there is nothing like an original it really dep ends on the content and how it is told but even a sequel there are factors to consider like how the story will develop or carry on such as movies like back to the future and it all depends what the audience likes to see. Back to the future was sucessful in all its sequels. Robocop was phenomnal but its sequels were so so. But i think movies need different plots. Usually in sequels. Sequels are not always necessary in my opinion.😅

    Clarence Boddicker is one of the most misunderstood characters in Robocop. Although everyone calls him evil and sinister, that's only his professional side. On a personal level, Clarence is actually warm, charming, and has a heart of gold.

  • @charlesferdinand422
    @charlesferdinand422 Місяць тому

    The phrase "bitches leave" is a reference to the Dutch director who didn't speak much English at this point and asked suggestions for this scene from Clarence's actor asking whether Clarence should order the prostitutes to leave before blowing up the place: "Should bitches leave or should bitches stay?" He thought it was hilarious so he used it.

    fun fact In Paul Verhoeven’s Robocop (1987), Robocop nearly murders the villain Clarence Boddicker at the cocaine factory, but then delivers the badly-beaten Boddicker to the police station and turns him in at the booking desk. Robocop says, "He's a cop killer," and all eyes in the station turn on Boddicker menacingly. At this point in the production, Director Paul Verhoeven and actor Kurtwood Smith (who played Clarence Boddicker) discussed what to do next to show Boddicker's utter contempt for the police, even when he was in custody. The line "Just give me my fu ckin' phone call" was added to the end of the scene, but Verhoeven and Smith still didn't think it was defiant enough, and they were at an impasse. So, on the last (best) take, unbeknownst to the rest of the cast, Kurtwood Smith slipped a readily-available blood capsule into his mouth and unexpectedly spat the bloody mess onto the booking desk, right in front of the camera. ^^^ Everyone was taken aback, shifted positions, glanced off-camera uncertainly, and the young actor on the far left was gawking at the gory splat with a WTF? expression on his face. The startled reaction on the set was real. Actor Robert DoQui, who played the police sergeant behind the booking desk (far right), involuntarily recoiled from the blood in disgust and exclaimed, "Oh, shit!" (which was kept in the movie). Clarence Boddicker thus ended up realistically and defiantly intimidating the police, and Kurtwood Smith's improvisation made it an iconic scene.

    Clarence is like an R-rated version of Prince John from Disney's Robin Hood. Minus him sucking his thumb & crying 4 his mommy.
