Travel is a brilliant thing to do. I left the UK at age 18 and made a life in Mexico. At the end of 2023 I decided to move back to the UK and start my first ever job in the UK. Maybe it was a mid life crisis (just turned 40). I am shocked by how difficult it is to live here. Like you say, as a single person its so hard to afford housing and anything really. It feels like everyone is kind of sad and just going through a to do list. Public services are not good but are expensive and everyone is too polite to say: this is not good enough. I love the UK, the countryside is lovely and (most) people are really nice, but that just makes me feel sad because it should be better, economically and present more opportunities. In Mexico I made around the same as I was being paid at my UK job and that allowed me a good lifestyle. Anyway, I quite my job in November and flight back to Mexico is booked for March.

I still enjoy living in the UK but I have a well paid job - a lot of people are so underpaid here! Having no kids makes life so much easier honestly, means you can easily change things and you aren't tied down. You can live life for you - enjoy your trip, it will be incredible! Southeast Asia is a great place to kick it off.

While I am single, no kids, no marriage ...My situation is slightly different to you...I own a house with 100K equity and have nearly 100K in stock market which I have been investing in since 2018....I grew up in Saraha desert so you can appreciate, my humble beginning ....I am contemplating quitting and travelling too....I have been on many solo trip since 2019, like Japan, Brazil, Egpt and even Thailand....I always met people while travelling and felt like it is my calling. I think you are doing what your heart tell you and live life you will not regret/......We go to work to live, not live to work. life is so short and we are not getting any younger

I left met policing at the end of 2023. I was miserable and working my ass off with crap pay. I then spent last year in TFL (amazing job for the same bloody pay as a police officer of 4 years) and started working on bettering myself. I did exactly what you did middle of last year. During 3 weeks I literally just unraveled who the hell I am, what I want from life and how to get there. I call it decompressing as I felt that for my whole life I have compressed all my wants and dreams and slammed them all into a closet to be someone I am not. Totally agree with everything you had said and recognise everything you have said. Good luck with your journey. (Stupidly I wrote all this way before finishing your video but the cage is pretty much it. Just got so excited and felt seen especially with the addition of the job background.)

That’s exactly where I was and what I did. I upped and left London for my sanity. 15yrs later I’m grateful I did. Bon voyage. Go to where you’re treated well, meet up with your soul and realise how wonderful you are and that you’re the centre of your universe not where you’re from.

I’ve been to the UK as an international student, and I can honestly say that without a good job, it’s really tough! The weather almost took a toll on my mental health, and I’m so happy to be back in my beautiful Kenya 🇰🇪. That’s when I truly realised how much the sun impacts one’s life and well-being. Well said. Mamy people are in similar position. Problem is that in developing countries or other European countries you can fix many things. Or when it is hard there is some other things we have instead. In uk we got nothing apart from work. No weather, no house cause we cannot afford, no kids, most family members left
