How to convert your old 2 line fuel system to a single line with pump
Thanks greatly I had the same problem and you solved it 😂
It's hit an miss with that chinese crap you just never know sometimes they work but sometimes they don't or work for two rides an quit OEM there's a reason they cost more lol I'm in same situation with my 70hp outboard I was having a firing issue replaced everything but the Powerpack I bought one off Amazon I don't know 100% if it is a Chinese knock off I have to look However the reviews were mixed that's all I remember so with that being said I'm thinking it was a Chinese one even though I paid around 150-200$for it which might be cheap idk first one I buy went for one ride and suddenly quit in blink of an eye won't cough fart sputter nothing after everything else I replaced new OEM so Im steering towards that dam power pack being a Chinese p.o.s hard to check spark by yourself when the engine cylinders are pointing horizontally out the back of the engine and the key is almost at the front on right side almost need a second ignition at the back nest there transom lol I may possibly have a spare Powerpack that I know works on my 60hp johnson wether it is the same as a 70 evinrude a few years apart I'm not toi sure pain just a pain Im the ass I'm just happy it quit 80feet from the boat launch and not way down the lake where I just came from lol everything right down between the stator plate to the spark plugs has been replaced with OEM parts the fact I remember a few reviews saying they didn't work is a hit il have to take I just wanna make sure thats what it is I'm pretty certain my 60 has the identical power pack hit a rock busted the bottom end it ran like a dream 1970-72 Jonson 3cyl tough old engines my evinrude is a 1975 changed everything practically on outside was a barn find had great compression so she ain't dead yet did fuel and water pump propeller three coils leads and caps and plugs cleaned out the carbs which were spotless anyway I had to pull the carbs again cause I noticed the fuel line was deteriorated inside and it's was all broken brittle and just fell apart more chinese shit I'm always looking for parts and things like that come in hande and last long
Thank you brother cos I'm dealing with this very problem🤠👌🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸✌️
Excellent
Man ive git one that has got me pulling my hair out mine is getting pulse at cdi going in nothing coming out ive awaped cdi stater out of running bike nothing ive got something grounding out on harness has to be. Bad thing mine was running pulled engine put different engine on no spark i put cdi and stater and pulse pick up out of old engine that was running norhing ciming out of cdi
Yea could be a grounding issue. Or could be one of the pins pushed in on the plug? Hard to say
What makes honda ruby honda forman 2005 500 fire...?😅
I'm sure it's the same for all them. The stator sends out all the voltage to your charging system and to your cdi box.
Futnmuts
I had no spark got a new coil put it on went good for a day now back to no spark any suggestions.
If you bought a off brand online it could just be a bad part. Check to see if you are getting voltage to the coil
Hey just got through watching your video and thanks for the info I'm in the same situation with mine. Going to garage and check my wiring! Let you know what I found out. Thanks again
Very helpful video!!! Thanks buddy.
Glad it helped!
Thanks man god damn 3 weeks
Cdi the original problem ya think then? If factory stator was good?
Not sure, could have been but I didn't get involved with working on it until the new one didn't fix the issue
Will that cause a no neutral light? But still cranks with no spark
Not in my case. Neutral light was on and everything seemed to be in the normal position to start.
Conclusion...buy oem or something a performance company makes
Thays not the fact for me ffs. I'm still stumped. Trying new things everyday and still cant figure it out. No spark.
Try giving the light green/red stripe wire ground from the neutral safety switch. It will be a 2wire plug grey and light green/red stripe. Wires come from bottom rear driver side of engine. Give the light green/red stripe wire ground. This will work if your Neutral light will not come on and you have no spark. Hope this helps, worked for me.
Thank you so much for this video, I had my ATV at 2 shops and the dealership with no help. The ATV has been OOS for over a year and today she lives.
Awesome! Good deal
My foreman wouldn’t spark . It was the voltage regulator that’s mounted on the right rear fender well
Is that a working fine one minute and then out of the blue it just won't start issue?
I’m confused??? If it came from the factory with those wires reversed, how did it ever run to begin with?
It hadn't ran since that stater had been replaced. The four-wheeler belonged to my brother. It stopped running and he began replacing parts. Not sure what went wrong to start with but when he brought it to me it wasn't running and this is what I found.
Great video. Thanks
The 5.5 OMC CANNOT be done like this 10 HP
You CAN just buy that bypass cover and install a 1960 factory fuel pump, easy peasy....Discount Marine Bark River Mi.
I'm about to try this on my 53 johnson I hope it works
Good luck buddy!
Mine doesn't have that exact plate but I'm trying to figure something out
Might not look exactly the same but should have a plate the serves the same purpose.
How about a part number and source for that fuel pump.
I have no idea about a part number. I just jumped on ebay and looked up Briggs and Stratton fuel pump and went with one
That Is the best explanation of this conversion that I have seen. Thanks for making it so simple!
Thanks buddy. Glad I could help
What should your gas mix be???
On that engine its 50:1 but it varies. A quick Google search would tell you what yours should be
Thanks brother. Bringing my 1960 sea king back to life
Awesome! Good luck
I’m also doing a 55 Evinrude vtwin do I need to buy the adapter plate or can I mount on transom or anywhere as long as my hoses clear
I'm not sure i follow. What adapter plate are you referring to?
It’s on eBay and a UA-cam video shows the conversion of a 55 vtwin and you have to get the adapter to exhaust plate manifold to give you the pulse to the fuel pump
Oh ok your talking about buying the cover plate that has the nipple in it? Or the intake manifold that is set up for fuel pump? Welll either way yea you can mount the fuel pump wherever you like as long as you have either the adapter or you drill and tap the port cover yourself. You must have that for your diaphragm fuel pump to work.
What part did you tap? I have a 1955 EVINRUDE 7.5 Fleetwin I’m trying to do the same thing
I tapped the actual cover. The cover that has two screws holding it in.
You need to tell everyone to like and subscribe
Sounds good Nute!
Chum it up Ned!
Boats and hoes
How she running today ? I'm thinking of doing this to my Fd-13 Johnson
I sold it a few months ago but she was still running great! Haven't had any complaints from the guy so I'm guessing it never gave him any issues.
Thanks I'm going to do that the same way seem easier that all the other ways I have seen good video
Hey thanks man! That's the easiest way I've found to do it. Good luck!
Notta sniff...
Man them are wicked for free seem pretty solid can't wait to see what they do on the river.
Yea I cant wait to give these babies a test run!
Yepp just bought one thanks for the great vid!
Good video... straight to the point...clearly explained. Will be doing this to the exact same motor
Thank you for watching and commenting. I enjoy the feedback. Pleas give me a like and or subscribe..good luck with the fuel pump upgrade!

How deep do those lures go ??
They dont dive real deep. I want to say 12 to 14 inches at most.
I want results!!
I have more lures coming from wish Haha
Nice
Nute! Good video !
Thanks for the video...I've been thinking about getting some! Looking forward to the next vid!
Thanks buddy! Good luck slinging them baits!
Instead of drilling and tapping into the cylinder wall, couldn’t you just attach the vacuum line of the fuel pump to the original pulse line that led to the tank? Thinking of doing my 1958 Fastwin 15 this way.
No not without taking the intake off and blocking one of the two holes and taking out the check valves. The pump needs a push and a pull...or a suck and a blow. It's set up originally just to blow or pressurize the metal tank.
See that's what I just got done doing just need a gas tank and a boat ⛵
If hard times hit and someone says they wanted all original once running I only paid $80.25 at a flea market not bad for a motor worth a 1000 if running if I say so Keeping it till I die
Yea I would love to find a deal like that. I'll buy them and fix them all day for that price. Around here in eastern Kentucky those old motors still cost anywhere from 300 to 900 bucks depending on the condition
