I did play them many years ago
Halida as usual never fails to amaze. You feel her passion and love in her music
memories of a great cellist.
Superb! Very atmospheric!
Восхитительно!!!
superb!
To watch on this unique Man is the greatest please and happy!❤ Thanks to Him! He is the greatest example for the musicians of the future!
Plays like James Bond, speaks like Mr.Bean
Battle with Cello, but quite good battle, I like this kind of Performance too!
I knew it! yeah! I'm sorry I didn't get it, because by my poor hearing English. I guess he is talking about mysterious rhythm which is concerned with tempo through to the end. I would feel music is dominated over tempo. If someone stumble at tempo which is to change in every passages, music should be another touch. Heifetz sensibility touch is so fantastic and mysterious always. (sorry strange English)soon be 91yrs.JapaneseI'm the one of his fans since I947.
In Norwegian: De som leser mine kommentarer må jo tro jeg er gal.JA Heifetz gal! Blir aldri lei av ham.
the Bowings 😳 WOW
Mozart
Very lovely and simple. However, watching Eric play on that electric cello makes me hungry for sawdust and sheepgut.
too bad he SHOT off his mouth against ISSAC STERN.... ruined his career.....no major orchestra would hire him
MESMERIZING
Amazing playing - and better yet from a doctor, not a professional cellist! As a cellist myself, I'm glad he went into medicine. If everyone knew how difficult that etude is!!!!
Genius...
Wonderful
流石に 素晴らしい演奏 自分では引け無いが 貴重な運指の画像を見られて嬉しい!
Quelle générosité. Quelle gentillesse.
Genius! The glory of God
My clarinet teacher, Principal Clarinetist in the Toronto Symphony, (Avraham Galper), for 30 years plus, always felt he was the greatest musician that lived...no doubt had the honour to play with him as soloist.
This is the best recording and performance of this piece I've ever heard. It blew me away. The tempo allows it to speak with authority and rests in the pianist's hands like water in a lake. Brahms' chamber music is without equal and this pianist and orchestra (and 'cellist") play it like chamber music with the wind behind them. THE VOICING! Well, no one voices like Dinova does. Every phrase satisfies. The separation of the lines is as clear as Gould, as unique in imagination as Horowitz, and as rich is sound as if she were an orchestra all by herself. Tragedy is transformed into beauty. I think the best of art does that. The small Brahms pieces on the CD are exquisite - the second is especially astonishing. I had to listen to it 5 times on my way home and it's still speaking to me. Why she isn't playing and teaching all over the place is beyond me. It's criminal. A friend of mine once answered that question as follows: "It's got three letters. E. G. O. She doesn't have one." People can't understand that. Maybe it makes them uncomfortable. Maybe it makes theirs look fatuous. Maybe it has to do with one of the themes running through great literature - good men make us uncomfortable - Tietjens in "Parade's End", Myshkin in "The Idiot", the priestess in "The Sybil", Huck Finn . . . I could go on and on. Is that why? Or does she threaten the rest of us because of her authenticity, generosity of spirit, innocence, and sheer beauty. This culture (American) is more sterile every day. The U.S. is a cultural desert. At least she occasionally plays in Russia and Europe. Twice, with my friends Don and Josh, I compared the performance on this recording to 10 others (Pollini, Richter, Lupu, Serkin, Zimmerman. etc.) No one even comes close. She should be playing all over the place. Why isn't she? Why isn't she teaching? Get this recording. You need it. It will change your life.
This is my second favorite recording to Arrau’s
11:30 love the bow strokes
love it!!!
8:35
Beautiful Mrs. Halida, thank you very much for teaching me, I love it a lot!
I used to be his teacher, but on this piece I need to be his student.
Bravissimo!
Never has a violinist elected to lead an orchestra while playing a multi-tempo 19th century work. Why Heifetz insisted on doing so (for the first time in his life), is a complete mystery, and he embarrassed himself as a result. The orchestra is in desperate need of someone to just beat time in a work that was likely unfamiliar to them.
Did he insist?
Well, it certainly was his idea alone, and they weren't about to cross him.
@@Twentythousandlps What's your source? I'm not saying that you're wrong, I'm just interested in what led to this debacle.
He wanted the performance to be just him and the orchestra without “third party” (conductor) involvement.
By that point Heifetz was beginning to fall out with pretty much everyone actually. He didn't like conductors forcing their ideas on his. Apparently he only agreed to do this if there was no conductor. While his abilities as a violinist and musician remained supreme, mentally he was beginning to get very moody, cranky, even depressed. The last 2 decades of his life were a slow, very torturous decline. Only music and the efforts of the few who dared to stay and put up with him helped him. After this concert he declared he had played enough concertizing for a lifetime and only gave recitals for a couple of years more. It's all in Ayke Agus's book. Jim Hoyl the man was a very tortured soul, while Jascha Heifetz was the world's supreme violinist.
absolutely brilliant
Super! I watch you play Bach long time ago, you have very good opportunity that you can study with great cellist, hope to see you play Dvorak,Haydn concerto
Genius, pure genius!
Bit fast
Un détaché limpide.
Quelle finesse ! Quelle délicatesse !
Fantastic and beautiful!
1:46 one of the worst interpretations i heard so far
Who´s interpretation would you recommend?
I personal like the interpretation of tatiana nikolayeva.
@@pianolentiwals1862 Me too!! Personally I like this interpretation from Halida, but I'll also say that Tatiana's is the best one I know. .
You are totally amazing! Thank you for your many gifts. This is a beautiful piece.
God’s fiddler in action
Thank you so much for this. Most people only put up videos or modern sounding stuff. I wanted to be able to practice without making so much racket, but I love the acoustic classical sounds more. This is wonderful.
Such amazing playing, great tone !...... such a difficult yet lovely piece.
LingLing goes to med school! #@TwoSetViolin
Beautiful Tribute. God's speed to all !
Amazing! Bravo! Thank you for all you do and inspiring the next generation of students and docs!
Pointless to perform without conductor on that level. Orchestra 👎
Gotta love UA-cam.
