    Thank you for this video. I was having a cocksucker of a Time trying to figure out proper hose to go with the new PCV valve. I have the matching PCV valve but when I searched O'Reilly's website. it said the hose from this video won't fit my Jeep but it's clearly the correct for the new PCV valve design.

    I'm doing the same thing. I've got no choice. The 4.7 crank wires are, inaccessible without removing the harness. The existing harness is great except for the oil saturated wires. 5v isn't much the smallest ground will disrupt signal. The new wire ground can be connected to the block five! volts is shared with the cam sensor all you need is the orange to the 17 hole.

    Hey everyone what ive found is the 3 pinns that connect to the sensor in the plug harness side the female pins have opened up they're too wide not making a great connection so what I did is Twist the three little pins in the crankshaft position sensor for instance if they're at say 12:00 twist it to 1:30 to make it a little thicker then you don't have to replace the end of the harness hope this helps somebody good luck

    How were you able to remove the passenger side valve cover? For the life of me, I can't remove mine. The transmission fill tube is in the way in the back. I'm at my wits end.

    • @wrightsrrt871
      @wrightsrrt871 7 місяців тому

      So what I belive your dealing with is you have to pop it loose and get all the bolts to pull out the valve cover as there designed to stay in as to not drop stuff into the motor during disassemble and putting back together. Then once loose you canter the upper part of the valve cover and slide it out between the block and harness outward towards front of car! This was not easy brother and will take a little patience for sure but is the more challenging part on the grand cherokee vehicles even the 2000 I work on time to time has more to move out the way on passenger side. Good luck and thanks for viewing the video! When I get an go pro I'll be filming the actual repairs in the future!

    I like your comment about the weight and feel of good tools in your hands and how a good watch has a good weighty feel. I wear a Rolex stainless steel sport watch, no silly diamonds or gold. It has a very satisfying substantial feel of weight on my wrist as a bracelet. The thing is built like a tank and will outlive me. In one of my jobs many years ago, I used to evaluate the feel, finish and functionality of medical/surgical operating room instruments for contracts we would award to instrument vendors. I could take a sample instrument that had been submitted for evaluation in hand and within a minute size it up as to its suitability where and how it would be used, in critical operating room procedures or minor surgery outpatient procedures.

    My Grand cherokee has 3 hole valve for screws but I can't find it anywhere, can the one you show in the 2 hole video be adapted? Tnks

    • @wrightsrrt871
      @wrightsrrt871 7 місяців тому

      The pcv valve has been upgraded and is why there's only two holes for it so it will clamp down more evenly when fastened down plus in the video you'll see where I talk about there's an upgraded hose to buy as well for the upgraded pcv valve. The reason is the direction of the new valve will be different so the hose route is needed to be different as well. If you want the original part you'll only find it at the dealership and even they are updating them to the new design.

    • @wrightsrrt871
      @wrightsrrt871 8 місяців тому

      First check all your fuses and relays to make sure you have the right ones ,right size and also there working correctly. Next it sounds like an overcharge situation so make sure your battery is the right one. Next if it persist try new alternator and or an voltage regulator to keep circuit from over charging system. My opinion Is possibly alternator is putting out to much voltage to battery and creating back serge making the alternator to hot cause the battery can not absorb the power fast enough that the alternator puts out. Next thing I just thought of would be to tight of belt putting tension on pully .

    So did replacing your valve cover gaskets fix this issue? I ask because I have been told that this is a common leak that everyone thinks is the valve cover gasket but in reality it is the gaskets under the engine oil cooler filler housing that is under the intake manifold. Those gaskets fail then that valley fills with oil and starts to really make a mess.

    • @wrightsrrt871
      @wrightsrrt871 10 місяців тому

      This was the fix for this client's car as far as this vehicle goes but I've had to revisit this vehicle this week actually is sitting in my driveway right now and I was going to make another video on it soon! So what I found out was the valve cover gaskets was needed but didn't come with sertain gaskets like the pcv valve gaskets and the cam sensor gasket so by trying to use the old gaskets it leaked again so spent $22 at the dealer for cam sensor gaskets and the one that was the problem was the pcv valve you have to buy the whole part just to get the gasket dealer wants $109.00 and oryleys is $43.00 but the part dosen't come with the right bolt pattern so I just took the gasket from it test drove it and no leaks! Also note that this is just an problem for this vehicle and may not resolve your issue but also the pcv valve is located right above o2 sensors so if your questioning the leak run the car like I did with the intake tube out of blocking your view and go get the ridgid inspection camera in plumbing at the home depot and investigate that camera is $80 and has saved my guessing and time so many times brother!

    Can you make a video to where all these type ground straps go, I have one not connected and I can't figure it out, one end is one the fire wall, other end is under the body throttle the 3rd point that is loose, I have an 01 4.7 v8.

    • @wrightsrrt871
      @wrightsrrt871 Рік тому

      These are commonly known as interference ground straps and they are also for jumping the ground at where the battery ground bolts to engine then jump the ground to the body hence fire wall the secound part it jumps to is chassis. The reason for this is so you don't have to run an long ground for radios and other stuff like rear tail lights they can be grounded to either body or chassis of your own choosing vs running an wire all the way back to the engine or battery ground. So basically you can locate them anywhere as long as your jumping ground from engine to body and chassis. It routes typically from body to an engine bolt located passenger side by top of transmission bell house then jumps to an bolt on the top part of chassispassager side by the front wheel the one in video is for the transmission to ground off

      @@lusakomichael157 so far what I've researched the mp408 is only compatible with certain types of the tablets provided but some things to think about are these! A: some tablets have different capabilities than the other ones. The reason I bought the one I did is it reprograms certain things like resetting airbags or reprogramming tire sensors and is just more all around type of scanner! So not every scan tool is best suited for what you are doing! B: the oscilloscope can be ran of most PC laptops as well so you don't even need the scan tool to run mp408 scope just an laptop leaving you open to buying what scan tool best suits your needs as long as you have laptop as well that can run scope! C: depending on tablet and the model you buy it can cost more to update the tablet yearly! Basically my tablet cost $678 an year roughly to update where the ms909 cost $900 something to update so cost more. Now final thing to do buy American based autel tablets with U.S. based hardware and when I bought mine I went through Walmart! Next call autel directly and explain the uses your looking to buy the tablet for and they can help you with the one that will best suit your needs! As I bought the one I have for cost effectiveness the fact it came with an kit of obd1 adapters for older models and is advertised to tire techs and body techs or home repair or private repair. There's also crank and cam correlation that you may have to do an adaption process through scanner tool to readap them to work together depends on vehicle 😉

      So I've sofare changed the cam sensor and the connector plug it had oil all over it but the p1391 code is still with me and the intermittent issue of SPUTTERING misfiring BACKFIRING and most def. Shutting off is more present know only on warm up thou I got a scam tool that read live data but idk how to check my cam and crank on it it's the Innova 3040rs scan tool I'm going to change crank sensor in a hour hop that fixes things

      @@danpeterson3739 yah sounds like I would try replacing crank sensor and look for damage to it could lead you to other issues if it is. Also look into videos on gapping crank sensors properly. If not these jeeps sometimes need the harness replaced for the crank do to shorts. Now I also know this if the cam and crank sensors share the same system as the o2 sensors or mas sensor or map sensor then if any are shorted they'll all have issues as well so visually inspect your whole car or at least the sensors on that circuit. If there is an break or power steering leak those fluids can blow back onto electric and are highly corrosive and can cause shorting issues as well.

      @@wrightsrrt871 okay so I did the crank sensor and you wouldn't believe this Soo when I was doing my engine swap a few months back I had both engine on the ground tried to take crank and cam from my old motor and the crank wouldn't come out on this motor I had got the bolt out but the sensor was stuck in and I said f*&+ it if it starts it works I forgot to put the crank sensor bolt back in and I didn't have issues at first but I did start having issues as the crank sensor got loose no bolt I still replaced the sensor sense I was able to know get it out and got the new sensor in and no code and no intermittent issues at all the jeep idles and drive fine and I got my gas mileage back a bit too the harness to the sensor was also fine and intact so I'm happy know can finally make it to work on time

    Hopefully they eventually make it usb-c rechargeable, though I think I read that it can use rechargeable batteries.

    The main inspection light isn't really bright is it? I think it's kinda cheesy, picked it up 2 days ago. The rail light is really good though.

      I like the rail light more cause I use it and the magnet to place it in tight spots on the engine to do sensors or electrical and many other things but thats why I liked it as well but now I'm thinking of getting an couple different flashlights for different reasons and repairs I also use an head lamp sometimes when I need to.

    Does it always need internet connection to use it

    • @wrightsrrt871
      @wrightsrrt871 2 роки тому

      No it does not need internet but dose scan slower when not connected so if your trying to drive around and do live data you can get more real time data by hot spotting to your phone. These are not the highest end scanners that autel provides but dose most of everything you could need for an fair price like scanning, live data ,service options for bleeding abs and such along with acces to maxi fix data base to see what common fixes helped other mechanics who report there fixes to data base. My favorite part is you can program pcm moduales and other moduals as well with this model! Good day and hope this helps !

    • @wrightsrrt871
      @wrightsrrt871 2 роки тому

      Useless to who just cause the video ended up backwards when I inverted the camera doesn't mean you can't open your ears and hear what the wrench is about. You sound like someone who doesn't know how to use an torque wrench or what it even is. Besides that this video was just meant to be an brief overview of what the wrench can do and not to show it off but show people that it feels to be built sturdy and I would buy this wrench for $170.00 vs an snap-on for $800.00 not to show technicians how to use something they already should know how to use. If you don't know what tools are or how to use them maybe you should not be fixing people's stuff let alone your own stuff. Aside of that if you want to be rude to people you know nothing about maybe you should not be on my channel as this is meant to help those understand that there's cheaper start-up tools then snap-on that are decent since husky is an good wrench. Also if you want to know how it functions so bad why don't you chance your money and go buy one on an wim like I did when I bought all my husky tools or are you just to cheap. Plus there's Google if you really want to read the description in detail on the tool at hand. There are many digital torque wrenches out there most functions are simular with few differences if any the only difference is price typically. Good day to you sir!

    15" Breaker bar plus 45 ounce deadblow hammer equal more force applied to a stuck fastener than your 24" breaker. Caliper bolts are so easy break loose with this method. Cheers.
