Installing click fit conservatory blinds made by Blinds 2Go

My experience of installing concertina type conservatory blinds in upvc french doors. Purchased from Blinds 2Go, the reality of installing them was more challenging than the manufactures suggest - but the end result was well worth it.

You did a great job. Totally agree the suppliers video is not very good. Getting ours tomorrow. Very helpful video
Same issue, your video has just solved my problem !
Hi, i want to install these blinds but im not sure if its going to trap dirt. The material looks like fabric. I ll appreciate if anyone who has been using it could guide.
Great video though i had to watch several times to work out what was going on behind the blurred card. Tape over the card details would have been better 😂
Great video!!!! Thank you
Thanks great idea for the bend, saves hassle and time. Thanks for sharing.
This is exactly what im dealing with at moment, defo get 1 of them adjustable joints
Very useful video. Will come in handy for our outdoor shower we are planning on, thank u for taking the time to upload.
Just fitted 7 of these blinds this morning, and I agree blinds to go video is not very comprehensive and I had the same problem with the tangled strings ,but after the first blind I speeded the fitting process up ,shame I did not see your video before, well done for making this video
Absolutely great job it is going to help me a lot because I am going to the exactly the same job. 🎉
My concern is that doesn’t this cause the seal to get damaged and thus causing condensation between the glass?
All I can say is that I have fitted these blinds to 6 windows of differing sizes in 2 different houses and none of the seals have been damaged or compromised at all.
Thanks so much for the video! How did you undo that knot after all? I've just got 4 of these blinds, for a total of 8 knots I absolutely can't get undone. I'm at the point of returning these blinds just because folks in the factory decided to tie knots too tight! It's also so convenient that the blinds in their tutorial video have no cords at all - makes it all look so much easier than it actually is...
@@feclips How did I undo the knots? With difficulty is the answer. Just had to be patient and gently tease the knots apart with my finger nails. I cannot understand why the manufacturer persists with this method. Surely there’s a cheap, simple alternative.
What about drainage?
very useful SK. Thank you.
Thank you for this, really concise and helpful.
Just bought one of these blinds as a test before we fit out the whole conservatory and used this video as a guide. You made it so easy and simple to fit, great video, this should be the official fitting video 😄🫱🏻🫲🏼
An explanation that's so simple so easy to follow. Spot on.
Thank you for posting this video! I had noticed the same issues with the tied blinds and additional bracket holes. I'm not the best at DIY and approach these with things with the upmost caution lest I waste all my money with a botched job and this was really helpful.
Sooooo the water just drains next to wall/foundation.
No. The water flows into either of two gullies immediately adjacent to the shower.
Great now i want to watch the Crystal Maze!
Excellent, I particularly liked the compass stone. 👍🏻

Why are there two earth terminals?
Brilliant video thank you very much for sharing.
It will all become very clear when you do the job. Give it a try.
Hi mate lovely job, would you recommend replacing the window seals if the current one's are wearing rough? Have you noticed any play in the seals since installing?
Replacing the seals would be a much bigger job, so if they are doing what they are intended to do I would leave well alone. You won’t see the seals when the blinds are fitted. I haven’t found any play in the seals in any of the 9 blinds of this type I have installed. Hope that helps!
I do not understand why to use a credit card to measure and what distance? Sorry.
The distance the card is measuring is from the top or bottom edge of the window frame to the edge of the metal bracket that slides between the seal and the glass. If correctly placed in position the lug which protrudes from the bracket will engage with one of the holes in the frame of the blind. That will thus locate the blind’s frame in position.
@@sksdiy5874 Thanks. Credit card confused me because previously chatted with the company and they said that I can only use this product if I can fit a credit card behind the seal (black stuff). I cannot really fit a credit card behind the black seal. I think the seal would not be functional if I could. So that's why I started my research on youtube. Maybe the sharper bracked will fit . But I am not sure. So, you used the credit card to have exact measurement of where the bracket should go. But why did you not use measure tape?
Best video on the subject, so we'll done. Should we check to see that after water draw off and then replenish the level, the float cuts off the water supply before the water surface reaches the valve body? Should be ok but if the arm is bent a little during maintenance etc, it may be riding high. Best to be sure I think.
You should check the water level immediately after you have done the repair and done a trial flush. On mine I had to remove the ball and its shaft and bend it around 1/2 inch to get the fill level where it needed to be, about half an inch below the overflow outlet.
I am about to purchase Blinds2go thermal blinds having seen them at a friends house and have been worried as to whether I am competent enough to fit them. Your tutorial has been a godsend (before I buy them) and I have decided to give it a go. I really believe that Blinds2 go should pay you some sort of commission for doing that tutorial because its spot on and I believe I would have 'wimped out' and got them from somewhere like Hillary's rather than trying myself. It's basically a confidence thing and I know after watching your video that I am capable of fitting them. Thanks again for taking the trouble to film it.
Thank you - good luck with the fitting.
Was it an old clay pipe you connected to?
Hi. No, it was a plastic pipe. I have connected plastic to clay - used a FloPlast underground flexible adaptor. Worked a treat.
Thanks very much for this video. I was stumped with that stupid little knot they tied in the cords to keep them together. The included instructions are really bad.
Does the blind frame stick out from the door frame by much and how far past the end of the glass does it go? I've got bifolds with a centre rotating lock and I'm struggling to find blinds to fit a most seem to have quite a lip on them
Scratching your table
Hi, can I ask why you use the two tube method? Why not just concrete in the sleeve into which the pole fits?
If the exit pipe from my back gully is ever so slightly higher than the exit of the back gully but everything else is lower will I be ok? I couldn't get it lower than the exit due to space etc. Worried about back flow. Thanks in advance.
Hi. Sorry, I can’t picture the problem you have - so without properly understanding the issue my immediate thought was “water won’t run uphill”:
Very helpful instruction, but it didn't stop the flow of water. Looks like I need a complete replacement kit😢
Thank you SO MUCH for this video. We bought these blinds and they were hard to pull apart and we thought we had untied them, but it felt like we were going to break them. Seeing your strings really helped us and now our blinds are up. Thank you for this level of detail that we couldn't find anywhere else!
Thanks. Really appreciate your comment. Someone recently said the video was over the top - but I’ve put up several of these blinds and every time I have an issue with the cords. It’s worth the effort though - the blinds are great once up.
These are perfect fits not clickfit.
This is super ott. All I did was hammer a 50mm pipe in the ground and twist it out then empty the innards out kept doing that until I was at the correct depth plumbing as I went. 5 years ok in south coast England it's been battered out all year flying a flag, still as good as the day I took it out to move house, did the same as my new place been up about 6 months exactly the same.
Thanks for sharing the whole process, with good bits & bad.
Are you working at the seaside?lol
Painful
Very good installation video, very much appreciated. In the future personally I would like to see a wider pic of the whole shower from a few feet back before the closeup, to get a relation of where and what the project looks like or the goal. The detail was great, but a continual overview shot every couple of min would help. Really like the idea of the back drop for the shower, that could be applied in many situations and settings. Thank you so much for his video.
Greetings from Northern Ireland....keep that flag flying mate!!
Thanks, very useful. I have just had bifolds installed and haven't decided about blinds yet but these look like a great solution
When I fit my blinds the bit you push into the door is loose and drops just wondering if anyone know how to re tighten the window part back in?
If the bracket is flush against the glass and pushed under the black seal then it should be trapped in place and secure. Sorry, but if it’s correctly installed I don’t understand why it’s loose.
@@sksdiy5874 the part you push it under seems to be alot loser than all the other windows, we've had them in for free years and it's like the door holiding window has become lose
Thanks
Nice try, however it’s not very patriotic enough XD
Hi mate what's the make of showers it great job thanks mark
Lily Round 2 dial 1 way from Willesden Bathrooms on eBay! I’ve had it outside for 3 years and 🤞it’s doing fine.
