hey man, i laid down my sv last week and just got it back running, nothing was bent besides the radiator but my clutch lever broke and foot peg/shifter assembly which i replaced already. But now whenever i hit excess of like 48mph i start to hear a squeak of some sort that sounds. it comes and goes while riding. I try messing with like the radiator and other items within my reach to try and pinpoint it but no luck. do you have any suggestions what to check? visually nothing looks like things are making contact but me being a noob i don’t know what to check, any suggestions?

These bikes are notorious for charging problems. If you have one I strongly suggest you check your stator and the magnets they have a tendency to move and in some cases fly lose and crumble into goo. I know many people who have had this happen and to get it fixed will cost you around $500 so get your hands dirty and check it out. The bad news is if it happens the crumbled magnets will go everywhere in your engine and get ground up into dust clogging the oilfilter.

My SFV650 was lowered, so much that it would scrape going into my driveway or over speed bumps. Got some used OEM linkage since I could not find an aftermarket link to OEM spec (it was always slightly longer/shorter) and wanted to make sure it fits. So this video was nice to find, figured I could "figure it out" but now I have more confidence. Just got a front wheel holder for my truck so I can transport motorcycles, so that and my floor jack should make this easy! BTW did you find the torque spec and happen to remember? I might be doing this tonight. I still have OEM kickstand... bike sits almost vertical because of it and fell over once on the driveway from a blast of wind....

So had to tear the whole thing apart to get that one bolt, and while I was under there I found I am missing a nut! Luckily I got the OEM linkage and it included the whole thing. Now to find those specs for torque, got stuck in a massive rain storm and worked on it thru the rain. About had it at this point lol.

It was slipping 4th and 5th when I hit 7k rpm. But looks like I got it fixed, just tightened up the top and seems all good now.
