We love camping, over landing and generally just getting out of the big city. I'm the off road enthusiast, my wife is the rock hound.... We'd love to read your comments, and get your input. Where and what will we get into next?

Great view!
Why thank you very much!!
@@RocknOverlanding of course,
Btw - new subscribers here for you!! Looking forward to your adventures!!!
@@RocknOverlanding Thanks for joining and for your support. We just subscribed to yours as well.
Thanks and welcome! Looking forward to more videos.
We are looking forward to doing whipsaw next summer,,, can't wait 😀 🙌
Thanks for watching. If you do it in the summer, what you see in the video is pretty much what you’ll encounter…. But typically, by thanksgiving, there is snow on the trail. ua-cam.com/video/Ds_ww858hEU/v-deo.htmlsi=CEbZ1cCLg4tSG_E0 - either way - enjoy!! It’s a blast!
@@RocknOverlanding thank you ,, we will
I don't think you're supposed to carve a turkey with a filet knife😁 Looks pretty beautiful out there😍 You must have had fun😀
Yeah, that’s one of those “oops” moments - nobody brought an actual carving knife - go figure…. But worked better than my pocket DeWalt knife lol….. was a total blast my good man - and we even have a Jeep guy in our group… maybe next year you??
@@RocknOverlanding I noticed that you had a Jeep there. I thought it was a funny looking Toyota🚙I'm surprised you let him join, lol😁 I'd possibly do it. Just have to see where life is at then. It likes to throw curveballs these days.
@@agesadventures I hear ya there - curveballs daily…. As for the TJ - Mike is awesome people, we’ll overlook the mislabeled vehicle …..
@@RocknOverlanding Mislabeled, lol😂 You should sneak out at night sometime and put a Toyota magnet on it😀
@@agesadventures ohhhhh I like how you think!! Wonder how long it would take him to notice lol….
The Whipsaw is well known to put your skills and vehicles to the test.
Thank you for the comment!! Yes indeed! Thankfully, this year we didn't run into any snow - that would have made our "issue" considerably more challenging!!
Always a good time, this year seemed to go so quick
@@codymayer2197 it flew by!! Considering we were out for 4 days - blink and it was over…..
Love the one @12:42 with the band around the center. I'm going to save up for one of these tumblers. ty for vid.
Thank you! These tumblers are incredible- so very worth the investment that’s for sure!! We love the fact that we can put so many different sized rocks in it - just awesome!!
THATS ME!😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Awesome terrain!
Thank you! Yup that area has some great trails! Can’t wait to get back for more!!
drive fiona across it lmao
its low..do some panning lol
We will be heading up that way in a few weeks, with panning in mind. Very excited!!
nice vid guys i just stumbled across it
Thank you - glad you enjoyed! Feel free to share and spread the word, we’d really appreciate it!
Pretty cool😎
Yeah, very different vibe compared to the rest of Slovenia that’s for sure.
COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!
Can you imagine 😊
Just walking around the structure made you feel minuscule!!! Then you see the actual size of the rocks…. Wow…
I'dbe into that.
If you ever have the opportunity to- you must!!!
This is really amazing adventure dear in the woods
Thanks for watching!!
It's really good to see them! Greetings from León gto México. ✌🏻
Hola!!! Thanks for watching and saying hello!!
Looks like you had an awesome day even with the weather and small issues! Great video!! Thanks for sharing!! Cheers
Thank you!!! One day we’ll bump into each other on some FSR!!!
I've dragged parts of the forest under my Jeep before, lol😁 Too bad that was your sway bar and not part of the forest! That was quite the wet snow your were trying to plow through. Close your eyes and floor it🤪🤪
Yeah, carry around part of the “jungle” isn’t unusual for us either. Breaking things, totally different, thankfully it doesn’t happen to often. Considering Fiona has over 450k on her and with the articulation we have, I’m really not surprised it finally snapped. Already have a replacement awaiting installation. The snow was ugly - the picture I took of it on the bridge, shows a good 1” of ice under 6” of snow - it was interesting to drive on. Considered dropping the air pressure even lower, but decided to hit other tracks instead…
What's with the ax enthusiasm?
lol - I know right…. Mike wanted to show his son how to “chop”…… a few shots and next thing you know, he was through lol… go figure eh!!!
Nice relaxing video with some interesting moments. Did you notice any difference in traction or handling after the sway bar broke? Is your air locker front and back? What maps do you use and are you happy with it?
Thanks!! It’s what we love to do - occasionally a little “more”, but for the most part it’s straightforward adventure. Didn’t really notice any difference once I pulled the broken swaybar and end link out. Might be because the passenger side is still in and connected - not sure. As for the lockers, yes we have front and rear. LOVE them - takes some getting used to, but incredible once you figure them out!!! As for the maps, we use Gaia on our iPad, paired with the Garmin inReach Explorer. Works like a charm all the time!!! What do you drive?
I love the waterfalls😁
Same here - big or small, we love them all!!!
Was that Jeep just being a lazy ass and not helping, lol😁 Nice job with the Treds! How long have you had them?
Nope, I didn’t want help - wanted to practice recovery…. Gotta stay sharp…. We’ve had this pair for about 4yrs now - love them!!! They get used more often than the winch!!
@@RocknOverlanding nice! I'll have to check them out. I heard the Canadian Tire ones are hit and miss. They can crack if it's too cold it seems. Not a great product for Canada then😂
If it's one thing we've learned the hard way - buy good stuff - you'll only cry once, then the pain is over.... spend the money on brand names in this dept - WELL worth the extra cost. Not to mention, your life is worth more that $39.95....
@@RocknOverlanding I think it's worth more than $39.99😁😁
Love the content, I would love to join you one day
That would be wonderful. Feel free to send us your email address and we can let you know when and where we go next. rocknoverlanding@icloud.com
Ha … still recognize most of the drive! 😊
We were very surprised when we realized we hadn’t done those tracks yet….. looking forward to checking out a few more … looks very promising!!
That was an awesome drive😁 I love getting out and exploring. It's great you have a chainsaw with you to be able to easily clear the trails😀 I think about on a lot, but I have limited space in the Jeep😢Maybe I'll figure out something one day.
Hey Ages!! Yup a chainsaw has saved us so many times over the years!! They do make mounts for the spare tire carrier - could be an option for you? It’s something we have been considering lately, either that or getting a hard shell case and putting on the roof with the traction boards….
@@RocknOverlanding I think I'd want it in a hard shell case on the spare tire carrier. It gets dirty back there.
Totally agree - I’m always amazed at how much “crap” gets thrown up on Fiona’s rear end - dust in the summer or mud in the winter, makes no difference lol…
I love UA-cam channel grandma I hope you get 100,000 subscribers I’m always counting on you❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hey guys! Nice video hope y'all had fun!
also how come I havent seen you guys at whipsaw? Jesse started bringing me in 2021 but I havent seen you guys.
We had a great time!! It was awesome to finally get out on the dirt again!!! Yeah we miss doing #Whipsaw with the crew - but Tracey’s dad has his birthday on that weekend - and since he’s getting up in years, we have opted to spend thanksgiving with him. Hopefully this year the “events” will not happen on the same weekend!! Fingers crossed!!!
Too bad about the road being dug up! I'm used to seeing that on the Island so I try to bavkup plans. Nice eagle 🦅 adventure 😊 Beautiful country out there😍 Awesome waterfall!!! Hopefully, 2024 is a better year for your family!
Thank you so much @agesadventure - I just wish I hadn’t “misplaced” my focal abilities - I snapped hundreds of pictures, unfortunately most didn’t turn out as they should have…. One of the pleasure of digital media - delete!! lol. Yup, we were finding more and more of the tracks and trails we’ve driven being blocked these days, very sad and very frustrating! 2024 has started off much better for us and the family, thank you!! Staying positive and looking forward to the future! Thanks for the comment my good man - look forward to having a coffee with you one day!! Till then, stay safe.
@@RocknOverlanding keep warm with all this snow ❄️🌨️🔥
Ours together our little family with rank and position Eagles
Surely you had your car lights on so not really a true reading of the NV capability?
Actually at one point we turned off all the light - we were very surprised at how well the camera worked!
@@RocknOverlanding ok cheers. Do you think this is the one for me? Ijust want to go into the forests and woods of England both day and night,...i am a total newbie with this camcorder stuff so it has to be pretty simple..i just want distance in the day and night..i research cryptids btw.
@@pauly7166 it all depends on your budget - there are better cameras out there, but the prices can and usually does rise dramatically. We’ve found for “general” use, this Sony works very well. Nice sharp stills, 4K resolution for both still photos and video along with great low light ability - we have no regrets with this purchase.
@@RocknOverlanding Excellent matey thankyou...so the distance work is good enough both day and night and should i purchase an Odepro ir torch with it and is it mountable on the ax53?
@pauly7166 not sure if that would be mountable or not. We haven’t added any additional lighting to ours, but have invested in an external mic which we have mounted on the hot shoe.
OK....I was out there, on that exact trail @15:31, except I was on my Africa Twin. I stopped at the plateau that the video didn't really show, just before the trail wen't insane. And I can assure the viewers, the camera most definitely DOES NOT do the extreme steepness justice 🤨, that last eighty feet was no joke....it is serious sh@t....bring a friend....a capable friend at that. And FYI......as a hint.....I never did find the 'cave'...🤔
Hello MrRodwatson - it’s amazing how you just can’t appreciate how steep that trail really is, unless you’ve been there - thanks for confirming my claims!!! You’ll have to checkout our “challenge accept “ video, where Fiona drives it! Yes, we did bring friends with us - a very wise choice for anyone and everyone that’s for sure! Thanks again, see you on the trails!!
Where is the specific route through the woods and mud in the second half of the video
Hello @wangwarren - as you drive up Lost Creek past Davis Last - I believe it’s the second left.
thanks@@RocknOverlanding
Thanks for the video! I ran across it via a link in a post on 4WD association of BC Facebook page. My family and I camped at that same community campsite in 2021. The scenery is so impressive. We ended up travelling from there through to Chilko Lake on a not-well-used little road. I saw your 1, 2 and 3 videos of the trip to Bella Coola and I am guessing I am one of the few viewers who has been up through Mud Lakes area and over to Poison Mtn. and back down the Yalakom (although that was in the '80.) We didn't go up Poison Mtn. though as it was only a day trip from Lillooet. Question: did you end up getting through from Poison Mtn, to Dog Creek/Highway 20 or did you have to go up Highway 97? (I couldn't find part 4 of the trip video) Thanks again for the videos! I look forward to checking out more of them. PS - wow, you are brave taking a trailer to some of those places. We travel in a 4WD Westfalia and I thought about having an off-road style trailer but would be scared going up little roads where I didn't know if there was going to be a place to turn around or if I might need to back down some scary terrain.
Hey there eddbeeinnv - our initial route took us almost all the way through to Bella Coola via FSR and dirt. Unfortunately, we had to re-route due to deadfall. Seeing as it was just the 2 of us, we didn’t want to spend unknown amount of days clearing the track. We ended up doubling back, and hitting the “highway” cutting back in Pavillion. Eventually we got back onto the route we had originally planned. Once there, we went on dirt all the way to Lees Corner (just past Hanceville) where we turned onto Hwy 20. We had to exit dirt at that point due to the indigenous locals closing access (Covid). We are planning another trip now that the Covid issue is dealt with, following our originally planned route - possibly summer of 2024! Travelling with the trailer does pose some challenges, but it’s so worth it!! Nothing like pulling up to a site, setting up, and then being free to explore!! The Tatlayoko Lake video is a perfect example of that - we spent a couple days there - just amazing!!! Only drawback to having the trailer - well 2 actually, using considerably more fuel, and yes - backing out of tight roads!! You get really good, really fast and backing up lol!!! Thanks for watching!! Greatly appreciated!
Please stop posting locations. Offroaders will find the 4wdabc on their own, I did. There is way too much garbage being dumped, and tread lightly motto not being respected. With Onx offroad and Gaia maps being available, true offroaders will find these areas on their own.
Fair enough, but to gain access you need a code……
It's part of the last "Open Range Highway in North America"
It was breathtaking!! We so wanted to go back again this year, especially to Tatlayoko…. The entire area is unforgettable!!
Awesome finds!
Thanks! It was new territory always very exciting
this is sooo beautiful.. I miss b.c.
Considering the time of year, we were very surprised to see the amount of water cascading down it - but thankful for it!! Hope to get back there soon!!!
Where was it
Grizzly Falls - depending on road conditions - 1-1.5 hours outside Boston Bar.
I love you grandma I hope you have a great day and tomorrow can I please hang out with you?
Incredible!
Glad you like them!
Jeeps are cool and the dog was chasing after it for a fun ride😁 I saw the video of the fire taking it out...too bad! Hopefully the 4 Wheel Drive Association of BC will be able to organise something to rebuild it again. I've never been up there, but it would be nice to have it available for others in the future. Thanks for sharing the video😀
I'm pretty sure the 4WDABC will rebuild the tower - just going to take some time, effort and a ton of volunteers to get the ball rolling - hopefully springtime once the snows clear!! Its a pretty easy drive, as you saw, but the views are amazing!! Glad you enjoyed!!!
Very nice. Everyone has so many fond memories of this place and you were one of the last to see it. As many others, this place holds a special place in our hearts. Thanks for sharing.
Yes we were very lucky indeed. It was the beginning of a wonderful weekend!! Thank you for commenting - #wewillrebuild
wow. You were one of the last ones to see it! Burned down yesterday. I was up there two years ago to see it.
Yes we were very lucky!! As you saw, we passed 5 vehicles - leaving us to enjoy the sights and sound of the tower - it was incredible!!
Really enjoyed your video thanks for sharing such beautiful back roads 🙂
Thank you very much!!
STOP POSTING LOCATIONS
Hello @Cougnut5150 - thank you for voicing your concern over us posting the location of this video. I understand why and do agree for the most part.... but in this area, the only way to gain access is to be a member of the BC 4 wheel drive association. So if this video sparks interest in a couple people and from those couple people, 1 person joins the association, I feel it is worth it. I'm not sure if you are a member or not, but the link to the membership site is located below - please feel free to share it, and join. 4wdabc.ca/how-to-join/individual-memberships/
@@RocknOverlanding I’m very well aware of the gate access. Did you know the recent fire up there was human caused????? Just stop posting locations, you can still make your videos. Go look at other accounts like the story till now, see how he does if, he doesn’t post any locations and maintains his respect. People who throw locations out there and post their videos online are only satisfying their own ego for the potential detriment of these places being over run. JUST STOP IT. There’s no argument, period. Don’t reply. Just stop posting locations. The cave does NOT require gate access either. So your whole argument falls apart. STOP IT.
Sorry you feel that way, have a nice day!
@@RocknOverlanding it’s not and argument when it’s the truth. Don’t ever make yourself your own fool, don’t lie to yourself. It’s not about me feeling any way, this is a fundamental fact. Nobody can change that, I cannot, nor can you just because you are in denial. Just don’t post locations. Make whatever videos you will, just SIMPLY don’t post locations. Very simple!
The dance at minute 7:35 It's the most fun 😂. it's great! Receive a cordial greeting from León gto México!😊
Hola!!! Yeah Mike has some “moves” lol - glad you enjoyed!!!
I think that cave was Sasquatch's hideout😁 Very nice tree. It looks like it has eyes and was watching you👀 Invaders...that's why you need to close the windows. I don't have air conditioning in my Jeep either and I close the windows for this stuff...you might get something worse in there like spiders🕷🕷🕷🕸 It's always fun to get out on the backroads to explore! Thanks or taking us on the trip😀
Ya know, I never thought of that!!! You may have just solved the age ol’ question - where is ‘Sas….. lol - in plain site all along!! Always our pleasure having “guests” along for the ride!!
Much appreciate the review, likely going to purchase now as I want a bigger and better built tumbler. Side note.. green rocks are easily my favorite! Seems like they’d be more common than they are🤷🏻♂️
It has never let me down. Like any tool regular maintenance, and it’s my favourite tool for rocks
But I love you too
