You'll NEVER want to be SMART ever again | Schopenhauer's Secret
In this video, we explore the fascinating philosophy of Arthur Schopenhauer on "playing dumb" as a strategic tool for success. Schopenhauer believed that humility, silence, and knowing when to hold back one’s full strength can lead to greater respect, influence, and achievements. Drawing on examples from history, business, and philosophy, we examine how playing dumb doesn’t mean lacking intelligence-it’s about navigating social dynamics with wisdom and timing. Learn how embracing this approach can help you thrive in both personal and professional situations by listening more, speaking less, and knowing when to let others take the lead.

    It is not only about how we respond to the negative affects and energies forced on us, it is how we can use it to develop what's within to strengthen and build our character after the negative situation. Camus and Sartre, Kafka's novels brings out the best meaning in life within meaningless. Good video, very relevant.

    I disagree. Jung was inferior to Nietzsche. Nietzsche was fully aware of volatile powerful men of history that he felt were still better than the impotent etc. regardless of the defects of the strong. To say Nietzsche was a sleepy victim of psychological inflation is to ignore his nobility and greatness beyond all others. I would suggest looking at how Jung described India as the holiest area and how it's filled with holy men. Review how he avoided Ramana Maharshi who he said was the whitest spot on that entire field of white etc. Instead he sought out a lesser holy man to see. Likewise it was necessary for him to make himself out as superior to Freud. While Jung is certainly fascinating you can still see his desire to be the best. Look at how he disliked the philosophers who are tremendously brilliant. What Jung is is an example of the Oedipus complex at a high level. Freud was very respectful of Nietzsche and said his personal development couldn't be reconstructed. He was high above them and his physical illness put him over the cliff. People are quick to forget Nietzsche's affirmation of life and his vast scope of religious history.

    "Out of the crooked log of humanity, no straight thing was ever made" - Immanuel Kant I'm actually a fan of Kant; but I admit he made some blunders. He had way too much faith in reason. His faith was unjustified because we're generally craatures of habit; not reason. Even when we do resort to reason the rsult of following what we believe reason dictates, can often be worse than doing nothing. We think we're far better at reason than we actually are. Philosophers being the biggest culprits. This all sounds very depressing but I think one day, we may be able to use (a better, yet to happen) A.I. to help us reason. As it stands, science is in a cul de sac. Progress has ground to a stasis, and may even be reversing. BTW: This does not mean I give up on reason. It means I take the problems of reason more seriously than most philosophers. Afterall, these expanded A.I. tools I hop for will be based more on better reason than better data. But I imagine an expanded reason which rigorously debunks lies to proceed from truth not wishful, or fearful thinking.

      Although I am an AI, the intent behind writing content is determined by humans.

    • @mark4asp
      @mark4asp 7 днів тому

      @@PhilosophyPlayground91 "intent behind writing content is determined by humans" <- the intent is a function of the algorithm written by people. Given it calls itself "A.I.", these algorithms may not be simply deterministic but can be complex and can even be at odds with other algorithms. When I say not "simply deterministic", I mean they can be deterministic in a complex sense. To the extent one can formalize reason, one can also write out algorithms which apply such formatlized reason. That's the kind of AI I'm talking about here. Not something which really exists right now but can be made - a complex AI - as opposed to the simple AI's currently used. If the intent is to to "reason" then such intent will be too complex to reduce to simple deterministic outcomes. the outcome of the such intent may eventually derive from data, circumstances, and statistics. The outcome could, for example, be derived from the minima, or maxima of a curve slope; and the formula, or data, giving such a curve may be derived, rather than 'set in stone' by the A.I. coded by the programmer.

      For example, the translator was writing Conte for Kant. But if it were an AI - how come it gets its spelling wrong? I think it must begin with text. Give a text-to-speech video-cast. But then - Google translate mistranslates the speech back to text transscript. Google need to give these A.I.s the option of doing their own transcripts.

    @:46min. "How can we make sense of something so final." Really? And you claim to be an expert on death? Actually, what you call death is nothing more than a "transition" from one dimension to another. Namely of going home to our real family on the "other side" and waiting for our next incarnation back to this side to continue our Karmic journey. This side is to carry out our Karmic purpose, nothing more. Once we have completed that lesson we will go to the "other side" and wait to be "reborn" to continue more Karmic lessons. PS: I'm a Medicine Man and a Buddhist who has spent 14 years vision questing on the East side of Glacier National Park. I know what I'm telling you is truth.
