This channel is associated with an ENGL 1101 class focusing on the theme of "convergence culture," a term coined by Henry Jenkins at the turn of the 21st century referring to the relationships between old and new media. A few of our posted videos will be "reaction videos" meant to show students how content creators distribute their work and how fan communities circulate the content around the globe.

"If you remember to mention this on the last day of class, I will."
On the final day of ENGL 1101 at Georgia Tech in Fall 2019, they remembered. I kept my word. I also agreed to be recorded because they were recorded reacting to BTS earlier in the term. Fair is fair.
To be clear, our course focused on fan communities and media culture. It brought together BTS, Star Wars, Star Trek, Marvel, Harry Potter, and much more. Students in the class created transformative works and engaged with their fan communities. As an ARMY (a fan of BTS), I chose a meaningful song to sing.
Please forgive my poor Korean. I did try.
I passed around translated lyrics for students to take with them. I hope they take those words with them into the future.
Wishing the very best for the students in my class.
Keep hoping for more good days!
