    I like the series but you should add two things if you can: 1st: Try to visit another gym with maybe a different Style of Boulders. My Gym sets more static and powerful moves so visiting a gym with dynamic problems is often a humbling experience. 2nd: The pros are not only good at bouldering but also really good at lead climbing. So its important you get into that. I know finding a belayer is hard but you can still try the auto belay. Because your bouldering skills transfer to climbing maybe less than you think

    great progress man, but just to put some prespective into what it takes to be a pro climber, most pros start at the age of 7 and most who start at that age can't even make it to the ifsc, The IFSC boulders are graded by pro climbers who climb at ifsc to be v12. Making it at your age will be extremely diffcult.

    • @MatthewAvenue
      @MatthewAvenue 10 днів тому

      Thanks! Yeah i’m sure it won’t be easy but that’s part of the reason that i’m doing this, i feel like it’s unfortunate you have to start at the age and of 7 in order to become a pro athlete. So I wanna push the limits and see if it’s possible to do this!

    @1:35 When I am climbing on my limit I really have to plan out the days leading up to the actual send. Making sure that the conditions are right, making sure that I am well rested, have the beta on lock. I often dream about my projects for weeks before I actually send it. So when I arrive at the problem on send day I know that I can go in with 110% effort. I really can't go in "to have fun" and send a problem that's on my limit. Then it clearly wasn't on my limit

    • @MatthewAvenue
      @MatthewAvenue 10 днів тому

      That’s valid and that’s great if that works for you! But i just notice that i climb at my best when i’m just trying to have fun. (Also fun doesn’t mean i’m not trying at 110%, that’s juts what i find fun)

    Taking breaks is never bad! Feel better!

  • @thomasward8519
    @thomasward8519 17 днів тому

    Taking breaks from pursuing a goal is essential. Sometimes, we need to pause and recharge; pushing past our limits isn't sustainable. Everyone learns this as they pursue their goals. Your videos go beyond just climbing-they're a template for perseverance. It's encouraging to see a young person set goals, face setbacks, and continue to adapt and aim higher. I ask myself: How can I apply the lessons from your rock climbing training videos to my experience with campaigning for Harris? Setting a goal also identifies the conditions for failure. Is that why we sometimes avoid setting goals and instead just drift along?

    On the first blue boulder swap your feet once you hit the target hold to flag with your right foot to stop the barndoor so you dont spin off

    Nice content, keep it up. Have ever thought to get profesional coaching lessons? I'm asking, because of the green wall run problem. I think you are definitely capable of sending it (or at least doing the first move). But I also think you are doing it wrong. Shuffling your feet is a step in the right direction (pun very much intended) from your last video. But in my opinion you should use your right foot to flag on the wall to stop the rotation instead of immediately putting it on the high volume. From the video it even looks like the right leg on the volume pushes you off the wall without stopping the rotation. Maybe the camera lies to me and you can't really straight leg flag on the adjacent wall. But if you can, it's worth a try. Cheers.

    I don't know if you're doing it off camera, but I think you'd benefit massively from breaking down the dynamic moves back-to-front. I.e. just off the floor and stick the finish position, then just off the floor and do the step into the finish, etc (or using intermediary holds) and keep taking it backwards. It's what Louis Parkinson does for all the people he coaches (vids on UA-cam if you learn by watching) and has helped me massively.
