Too Good to be True, But it is True! - Free REAL HP Calculators (Emu42 Review)
I had both these calculators and I never liked the Ti 89 Titanium .... the HP has the familiar Folder system (with soft menu keys for the variables) and stores matrices, graphs, equations, complex numbers, etc. (20 different types of objects) in the same manner.... trying to find and manage large numbers of stored items on the Ti is difficult ...... next the HP has several entry modes (textbook, algebraic and RPN) ...... RPN is a clear winner when doing numerical maths ...... even switching back and forth between Rectangular and Polar forms of complex numbers is quick and easy on the HP .... while it's a nightmare on Ti calculators ..... then the HP has a programmable User Keyboard where you can use a key of your choice to automate tasks, implement maths functions and execute your own programs..... in addition, there is the FLAGS system where almost every area of the calculator can easily be customized by setting or clearing over 100 flags..... maybe I am biased 😁 because I started with an HP48SX and moved through the whole lineup (48GX, 49G, 49G+, 50G) ..... but I also had Ti, Sharp, Canon and Casio calculators for comparison (cause I was also a Calculator Boy 😂) ...... check out my Facebook page "Mendes Computers" ..... and the relevant Playlist on my UA-cam channel (Stephen Mendes) which has LOTS of topics because I am also a University Lecturer as well as a musician ..... Happy Christmas !
Wow I was afraid to find bigger differences between those Nspires!!! Probably I'll get my first Nspire, - used - but now, I know which one it will be. It won't be replaced until be broken (not by accident or misuse it). Thank for your "video help".
Change the name. You have a lot more than that
Incredibly I did the same test in my TI84 Plus C Silver Edition; it tooks only seven minutes...
Haha
Song: Nekozilla (LFZ Remix)
I thought this video was made in 2016…
Is mobile version the same?
G1 ou G2 :)
The beauty of RPN is how you can keep intermediate results and use undo if stuff goes wrong. Also, the HP stack is typed and you can use a variety of types in many situations, e.g. 3 4 +, but also '3*x^2' '7*x' + or even "ABC" "DEF" +, not to miss out on lists, vectors and matrices... And then there is RPL, reverse polish LISP, which is actually more like a object oriented FORTH. This is an incredibly powerful programming language.
Stay away from this calc. The connectivity kit bricked mine and it is unrecoverable. I lost everything. Sigh.
My old Prime gives an error when I tried this. It will not accept 60000 as the upper limit. 1000 is ok though. Cheers.
ohhhh, the thousandth idiot in a row ) rtfm, pls! if author=calculator_boy then author an idiot^3 )) dis all u vids
I have one for sale, I am asking $100 if anyone interesting
nice comparison
nice history and walkthrough
How to see log function on this model
Nice walkthrough
Thanks for the walk through. This basic review was awesome.
Hello, I'm Brazilian, and I'm studying computer science, I need a good calculator, could you help me by answering a question that I couldn't find the answer to anywhere, please? hp prime v2 or g2? which is better and what is the difference? I found your video very interesting and thank you for sharing this knowledge, maybe you think it's something small but where I live a simple calculator costs one or two months of work. thanks again.
The Prime v2 and G2 are just two terms that are used interchangeably. They both mean the same thing. However, G2 is the correct way to say it. "G" means generation, so G2 means Generation 2, which is the one you want because it's the latest Prime and the most stable one. Other important things to know: The Prime G1 had two different revisions, revision A and Revision C. G2 has only 1 revision, revision D
@@calculator_boy thank you for the answer, where you from? 🥲I didn't find any G2 for sale in my country. Maybe I'll find it in your country.
If you think that's bad, try a Casio fx451m - the membrane keyboard has a nasty habit of dying and the repair is essentially impossible as the broken tracks are inside the membrane and the only way to get at them is a destructive teardown... It's typical of Casio, they were cheaply made and cheap to buy, they were never meant to be repaired, just thrown away when they broke or a new model came along.
Now it's a TI-89 Explorer
trash video
Someone sold me a Voyage 200 that had at least 2 missing vertical lines on the display. A nice fix, and a pity that TI didn't use a zebra strip (conductive rubber flexible strip) but even those go bad. If it's the glue on the display cable that fails, every one of these is going to go wrong at some point.
Learning curve is something that U missed...
Hi did you test the new beta update for Prime G2
I have 1996 TI-92 with masked ROM. The TI-92 is pretty cool, even if graph feature is not better than TI 89 titanium. I wonder how 92 plus or 89 are doing with 1/sin(x).
It seems that you don't really know what RPN is.
I knew it, and am glad I made the right choice TI Nspire CX CAS II. The only aspect of the HP Prime I like is its premium feel and look of its keys. Apart from this, the "document system" of TI Nspire CX CAS II is lightyears ahead of HP Prime. Ask chatgpt which model do scientist prefer. Ask again which model do engineers prefer. My feel and my smell got it right all along ever since the beginning, that those who just prefer to add two numbers chooses HP Prime. But those, who are deep and those who have a long range week long scientific research calculations prefers the TI Nspire.
Engineers prefer HP Prime simply because its ease of use, fast speeds, and programmability, it does make sense for scientists to prefer more graphing centered calculators but that doesn't mean engineers are less deep or don't spend time on research, apart from that, if you don't know how to perform a calculation in the HP prime or cant find documentation on it simple write a program to do it
Tried doing this on my 48 and it also solved it. Although I haven’t used that calculator for like 3 years so
I've had instances of this calculator straight up freezing and not responding. Think if that happens during an exam.
I had that same error today. I used a toolbar layout for a couple complex calculations. The issue I had is what you had in the video with the var names. I also have the issue of the tool bar Item, var . It will goto var as in lbl var, but also goes to next lbl in the code and runs that as well. I dont know how thats possible . Its a seperate lbl name and should only be acces by telecting that in the toolbar.
the HP's communication port is a standard RS232 port, and uses standard Xmodem or Kermit protocols for transfers
Rpn is just old, let it die
I have problems with my HP Prime now. please, help me! the buttons are swapped (the "-" decreases the screen brightness and the "+" increases the screen brightness; the "divide" goes to the terminal screen"), and every time I press "Esc", it goes to an "Exam Mode" screen, that has "Configurations - Basic Mode" and to choose the angle. And the Symb button reset. It also does not turn off... I press "shift" and then "off" and it does nothing. And seems like the "On" button is stuck. When I hold down the "On" button, I can change the screen brightness with the "+" and "-" buttons, divide goes to the terminal screen, and Esc goes to exam mode. Please, you can help me? I am from Brazil! Sorry for my english.

Download the HP Connectivity Kit from hp calc website. When you install the connectivity kit, open and it'll prompt you to download the G1 and G2 prime firmware. After downloading the firmware, connect your calculator to the PC and the PC will prompt you to update the firmware. Good luck

Can you solve sin(x)=1 and see if you get the correct answer which is 2kpi+pi/2
@bonjournito That answer is a general solution, so it's not wrong. Hp prime will just give you pie/2, which is also right, because it's the first occurrence of the equation sin(x)=1. 2kpie simply indicates all possible values.
If you use simplify() instead of expand(), the Prime gives you the correct answer instantly. I assume expand() is brute force multiplying the polynomials, whereas simplify() recognizes a trick to efficiently compute the coefficients. This is a matter of the calculator doing exactly what you told it too, even if it's slow, since sometimes you need it to do it that way.
Could you show their speed when running a bigger program and see the comparative?
El teclado de la Hp es pésimo, suena como globos de bolsa
danke für die Information
HP PRIME uses XCAS/GIAC which is far superios, but you wouldnt be able to notice that in this video, but yeah weird bug on the hP.
Amazing Collection
I think you should also compare the 92 to the 92+. I have the manuals for both but only the 92+ unit and the tutorials in the second chapter refer to features that literally are not on the 92+, specifically the Geometry mode where you can draw various shapes. As you know, it's not the same as the drawing tools in the Graph mode.
Wow. 😮
