Great track! I remember listening to it in the mid-90s when driving far too fast. In my naivety I also appear to have misheard that it was "I will not be afraid of winning", which I've just learned!! Oh dear. Anyway, I do recall a music video TV channel also playing a "video" of the song - not this lovely one, but another....set in a city? Black and white? Perhaps it was only released in the UK, but I seem to think it was shown on the CMC (Country Music Channel) albeit the UK version. If anyone knows if that's still around somewhere online I'd be much obliged. Many thanks and best wishes.

This song always makes me cry. On first listening I thought it was about a mother who adopts a refugee child who was too young to fully remember the horrors he escaped from, but she does.

Somewhat ironically, Dar Williams is so beautiful and sensitive and perfect and wonderful, that I'm absolutely terrified of her. As cool as I am, natch.

I grew up in southern Connecticut in the '60s and '70s. WNEW-FM was the soundtrack of my high school years and I spent many late nights listening to Alison Steele, The Nightbird. I first heard "FM Radio" in the car on CD, and had to play it a second time with the volume cranked up to be sure the song ended with the real Alison Steele signing off. Thanks Dar for a wonderful song and a surprise nostalgic ending.
