It's bad that a person is not afraid to lose or spoil the data on the EEPROM. Doing FEM with a clothespin in automatic mode is dangerous, the contact may disappear when reading and everything is gone!

So If you able to add and erase a new key from obd2 why did you have to take out ecu?

I have a bmw X1 computer/DME that is giving some trouble so I am trying to change it with a used one, so I wanted to know this reading of the ISN then write it in the use one I purchase then I am good from there for the car to work? Reason I am asking i did one for my Benz with my autel im608pro2 but it is a little different and I know it as Cloning so is this basically the same ting as Cloning an ecu? I am just learning so I hope I don't sound stupid.

wow..Denny.. your playing with fire my man. I took some BMW classes and learned alot- I see a lot of mistakes here I made before taking them classes and you coulda bricked and corrupted that eeprom the way your doing it.

if a working key is present, can a used one off of ebay be bought and programmed to have as a spare, or does it have to be 'virgin'? thx

Your kinda doing everything backwards. You should have took the box apart first. You should have disconnected power to xp400 after u was done reading chip. You should never be pluging in the 2 connectors while its reading chip because as seen it disconnected. Your lucky nothing was damaged. Also jbox should be hardwire to autel. Also using 3rd key spot could cause issue if someone was to get 3rd key made by dealer in future. Probably should have picked 5 atleast

Hold the newly programmed key to the coil for 10 seconds while holding the ignition button the tools keeps telling u to do that after u program key but u don’t once u do that keyless and everything will start working

My friend I have noticed you use a different PCB key The customer’s original key was PCB7953p and you programmed PCB7945p (According to the reading in the Xhorse) Did you have any problems because of the different PCB key? It usually get programmed

So original has 7953P with 433Mhz and you had learnd first 7945P with 433Mhz but remote dont work. The second learnd key was 7953P which should be used on 433Mhz. Last time i also made a key 7954P but with 868Mhz and remote was ok. If i get a car with 433Mhz i will use 7953P key only and not 7945P.

In Cas module you can see the key cutting code but where do you get the code in FEM/Cas 4+?
