    Thank you! I'm just getting more into macro and there were some very helpful tips and tricks. The bean bag thing seems so obvious now and it'll be part of my kit for more than just macro photography moving forward. Beautiful flower images as well. Seriously, thank you so much, it's inspiring to see videos like this and I might have to rummage through the house to see if there's any other household items I can use in creative fashion to take some incredible images!

    I have a silly question - if the frequency is much lower I assume that one flash every 2 seconds would be 0.5 Hz?

    Shooting abstract is a great way of teaching yourself how to find photographs where others doesn't, doing it for almost an entire summer made me a lot more aware of what goes on around me. And it's superfun to!

    Some of the tipps where great to give new ideas or how i could improve, but the pictures you made didnt blow me away. I expected a bit more. But maybe thats just the different picture styls we have

    Thanks for the video! does anyone know what's the best/minimum height for a tripod for unboxing / cocking videos overhead a table?

      That'll depend on your height and your table setup. But take a look for a tripod that has a swinging center column, so it can get over the table without being placed on the table. 👍📸

    The music is too loud and distracting. I want to hear YOU. How many times does the little man have to come out and remind me to give you a thumbs up? Really unnecessary .Finally, some of your comment on what you were doing for settings did not match up with the setting displayed on the left. :-(. Your information is very useful and these little glitches just distract from the quality of the educational content. Just saying.

      @@ViewfinderMastery sometimes being almost invisible just allows you to get so much closer and braver. When I started street photography I used a big DSLR and all eyes were on me. I understand your point.

I've owned plenty of compact cameras before, and I'm a big fan of the Ricoh GR, but I think the most important thing is getting out there and learning how to engage with people and how to be unobstrusive - regardless of the camera type.

      @@ViewfinderMastery shooting outside of the big main cities like London, Paris and New York is extremely difficult. I try to remain confident and upbeat but I do get challenged often because cameras are unusual.

    In your opinion is the 45l too large for airline carry-on or can it compress down enough to fit in the overhead or under the seat?

      I have taken bigger packs on the plane than this one. It might be on edge for some smaller planes, but would work 9 times out of 10. 👍

    I have understood the new Swiss privacy law that came in 5(?) years ago as meaning that photographing strangers that are identifiable required their prior agreement. Is this not the case? has it been re-interpreted now? Such a requirement for prior agreement makes street photography effectively impossible. It becomes portraiture. Hiding faces might be our only option. ;-)

      It's so different from image to image. There's a lot of ways to photograph people whereby their identity isn't even seen. Leah has lots of examples of this in her portfolio. Add to that, the definition of "invading privacy" leaves some wiggle room in my opinion. I don't even agree with some of the suggestions on the Swiss gov't website, such as "use a telephoto lens to avoid invading a persons privacy..." (The decription of the law) doesn't seem so well through IMHO). 🤷‍♂

    shooting from the hip with a mirrorless camera is so much easier than with a DSLR. Face detection autofocus makes a big difference

      colour film for that format was always low speed and very expensive.

      @@streetwalkerphoto 400 ASA is fast by 70’s standards (Kodachrome was 25 or 50) but not fast enough to get small apertures (for depth of field) in dull weather. Of course current digital cameras (actually also 10 year old ones) are a whole different level.

    Just be more confident. Hope the camera in front of you as if you are shooting a video. Nobody is bothered and then fire away. Another tip, find a call background. Hope the camera ready and wait until someone walks in the frame.
