How to remove security Torx screws without the proper tools
Переглядів 134 тис.4 роки тому
Hello! Here I am just showing a method I used a few times to remove security Torx screws when I did not have the proper screws. Someone sort of internet famous ruined a possible prototype machine by being impatient and cutting into it with a dremel. Let’s take an extra minute when working on things like this and improvise tools, while being nondestructive. #8bitguy #dremel #torx #preservation
You’re the goat
I love you man
Also a flathead screwdriver could work aswell if you have a mighty grip strength to keep pushing into the screw while turning
Omg....thank you!!
Goat 💯
Thanks it worked for my PS4
I had Pokemon Blue 🔵 I forgot how I opened the Super Nintendo Cartridges to replace the battery. I think my uncle had the tool to remove the screws.
Ladies and Gentlemen my ps4 is on fire
Over complicated. Take a small screwdriver and snap the security post off. Use a regular T10.
This is so ducking geniud
Wow, thats cool man. Thank you 😅
This is a god-send! Also, what do you do if its tight?
I would love to have an Aloha again, I still use the original mouse and keyboard set made by Logitech. Do you have any restore CD for this machine? Thank you.
A couple years ago, I opened up a microwave by using the ends of 2 paperclips and a pair of pliers... Slowly but surely. Today, my laptop had a size t5 torx screw, and I didn't have any paperclips small enough for the microscope-sized screw. If I had a crystal pen I might have tried your method. Ended up ordering a small electronics screwdriver kit... Will need to fix other small electronics lol.
That is a pretty cool trick! ; )
Il give this a go on my ps4 slim and il update my comment if it works or not. if it does work then thank yu so f-ing much.i neeeeddda clean it out
I have a super small screw driver and I have broken all the little middle circles in the middle of the screws now they won’t turn
Dude thanks so much
umm i am trying it, ik i have found this vid so late but i am trying it and i cant get into the screws on the back of my ps4, im so stuck, i used the exact same pen the video said aswell

Nie polecam zakleiłem se plastikiem wejście
Man doesnt work for me it just breaks cause the screws are really tightly screwed in
Where can I buy these screws
Do you think this would work with an Xbox controller? I'm trying to clean mine and can't find anything small enough to twist the t-9 screws
holy shit thats really smart thanks bro
nostalgie
Doesn’t work for ps4 👎
Great help thanks🇮🇪☘️.
Haha I love the name of the video
That is so smart holy shit
im too young so i cant own a lighter
Xbox 360 has these can't get them cleaned but I stumbled across this just thanks man
thank you so much u are awesome
It didn’t work 😭but thanks for the advice might use for other things
You my friend...are a F-Ing GENIUS
Would glue that you melt work?
you might be able to get away with hot glue if the screws aren't super tight
@@something_about_tools what could i use if they're super tight ?
A solid plastic would work better
Omg man that’s so creative 👏🏽👏🏽
That's really creative!
just wow now i can fix my ps4 disc reader
Trying to this it just spins
Do*
Very nice. Def not a bad idea
I will try this today because I brought 4 sets of cheap tools yesterday and 2 of the sets had a piece that fit my ps4, but I rounded them before pulling my console apart so decided to stop... I really wanna clean my fan and am hopeful for this trick
Necessity is the mother of invention they said and you proved it.
Carefully a legend
You are a Godsend! Thank you! It works!
*Pretty cool trick! Nobody has a video on how to take the teeny tiny ones off pocket knives. Can’t remove the belt clip without taking off those torque screws.*
You might get away with using a very small flat screwdriver, in the torx screw. I have had to use that method as well.
will it work with torx t5
Very smart!
Tried this for my old PS3, didn't work. Took my drill, that did the job.
