Brand new to leathercraft and building my toolset. When you talk about pricking irons and mention 3 or 5, do you mean "mm" or "#" as listed on the websites you've linked? Thanks for putting this together, being brand new this is super helpful.
mm!
Great stuff! Hilarious...I'm traveling to Hawaii next year and i believe I'll be staying about 30 mins away. Can customers still stop by to get a custom wallet made on the spot? And which wallets?
Yup! LT, Houbei, Topsider, Gun Deck, Minis
@Opensealeather awesome thanks
I got cheat codes 😂
Great stuff 😂🙌
Glad you enjoyed
Not just quality wallets and people, but quality content as well haha. Y'all are too awesome 💪
Beautiful craftsmanship:)
Muyvien esplicado y fasil chile
Great! Leather thickness?
Each layer is 3-4
Veal medallions are goood!
Wow that looks sharp!
Wish u had a fuññ video showing step by step how u build that 💯💯💯
You look like a more gangster Mike Rowe….Respectfully
Love that
Wow, this is such a precious gift. I would be absolutely elated if someone so personal in my life went though making me a personalized gift like this. The groom better cherish this forever!
Glad you think so!
What thread do you use
Ritza tiger thread
This is a work of art!
Thank you!
Hey mate. Looking to get a machine, what's the one you're using?
Techsew 2750. Very solid machine
What tool would you recommend for setting Snaps and Rivets?
Hand setters are just fine to start
@@Opensealeather Awesome! thank you!
I haven't made the leap yet, but your vids have me itching to take up the craft. I just need to get over the fear of my stuff sucking. lol
Your stuff will probably suck…at first. Keep going and it gets better. It’s very enjoyable, take the leap and give it a shot. Start out with simple projects and you’ll be fine.
It’s always gonna suck at the start! The sooner you start the sooner you won’t suck
@@rhoadsy leather wants to look good! Buy a side of good quality leather you like and start with a belt or wallet.
Hey Brother, I watched another video and saw a MINI Tobasco 6 pack. Could you please make va build video on that. Thanks. By the way great videos.
Possibly!
Good point on calf leather.
Love the video. inserting obligatory new belt design comment. My belt snapped on me today so I thought it was funny you released a belt video today. Congratulations to the soon to be newly weds
The production on the videos makes it easy to watch and you can tell it’s not just slapped together
I love mine...easily holds my 5 cards and a bunch of cash, then disappears in my pocket!
Sick!
The video shooting is very detailed, and the images feel very advanced
Representing High St. Deli, Hell yea!
World famous sandos
Thanks a lot for sharing. I just made one like this. And it works perfectly...;)
Awesome!
The feet...?
This is a really helpful video. What is your spacing on the KS Blade irons?
4mm is great all purpose spacing
@Opensealeather thank you
Inventory in a leather shop, more like hide and seek.
Daaaamn!
What do you mean by"i'm not a artist anymore"?
Ha a fine artist (painting, sculpture, drawing etc)
Thanks for the video, I have made a couple of stitching ponies recently. The first was a basic one similar to the cheap one you show, and my second is similar to the high end ones. My better one was made using my 3018 CNC machine and I learnt a lot during the make and assembly processes. My build was based around materials I already had to hand during lockdown, and as a result the clamp to the table was never finished, so I resorted to using wood clamps similar to the one in the video. I found that a challenge I had, and which could explain the issues you have with stripped threads, is that the angle changes with opening and closing of the stitching pony. I had to oval out the bolt hole to allow some movement of the carriage bolt as I had used fixed threaded inserts. I think on my next build, I will use threaded cams and a slot to allow it to pivot with the movement of the jaws. Don't worry about the skills you have, I have seen far worse from other creators calling themselves wood workers😂 To fix your broken arm piece, I would drill holes and glue dowels into the pieces for extra rigidity. You obviously have the means to achieve this. The only main negative comment on your latest build is that the jaws don't seem to line up and are different sizes. Luckily I also have access to a large format CNC router so I can use 30 or 40mm thick plywood on my next version. I will possibly "borrow" your idea of the square box shape to allow clamping to work surface😊
Thanks for the thoughtful comment! Yes it was a little misaligned because my laser wasn’t cutting accurately due to a loose belt. I’m working on version 2 that I like a lot more!
Cool. I appreciate your candid perspective on what works and what doesn't. Your vid had some really good ideas (and gave me a few also). Great Work!.....Thanx.....
Awesome, thank you!
It’s badass to me, I will be building one but hey I have 5 lasers so might as well
Dope!
I'm not a woodworker, but this is very helpful for those of us who are starting. I especially like the magnet part-it's an excellent idea for keeping the needle.
Glad it was helpful!
I made your first stitching pony and I only had to refer back to the video 4 times. It's outlasted the pony I bought on Amazon and the one I bought from The Buckle Guy. Love your videos. Thank you for sharing and helping my leather items get better.
That is awesome! Love to hear that
Good work bro!
Appreciate it!
Damn.... I got 3 stitching ponies, and I am definitely thinking about 4th now. Great job !!
Thanks!!
I appreciate you doing this for the community!
My pleasure!
I bet it’s fun working for you🙂👍🏻Everything looks so interesting
Looks amazing!Good job!
