Want to ride a motorbike in Vietnam? Here's my experience! Ride With Me - EP 15
Welcome back to another motovlog episode. This time round, we'll be riding around Vietnam and experiencing the city of Saigon on two wheels! Riding a motorbike/scooter here really changes the way you can experience this city and gosh the street food that you have access to once you have the freedom and flexibility to get around the city with a bike. 10/10 would recommend!

It was a really long jouney that took about 5-6 hours to reach, but the views there were breathtaking... totally worth it! Anyways enjoy the adventure in this episode! Hey @regen7767! It's pretty common here in Singapore honestly, and I've tested many mount positions for the POV cam, the best is still the chin mounted cam. I don't think it looks stupid imo but then again you're asking a dude who turtles up in gear and rides a three wheeled bike LOL. Imo, I don't really care much for what others think, I think I'm way past that age already haha, just enjoy the ride and film your memories :)

    3:34 Actually like the document said, SG didn't sign the Vienna Convention 1968 for the international permit. Ours is Geneva Convention 1949, you'll see that Vietnam is not in the list of countries in our IDP document, so legally our license is not recognised there. But yes they don't care and will just let you rent.

    So, this was filmed with the Insta360 X3? Looks good. I'm an American and when I watch videos of Asian countries, everyone seems to get along well. I see no homeless people or mentally ill living on the sidewalks in tents, open drug use or road rage like here in the United States. Did you see any road rage or tent cities, drug addicts or mentally ill living on the streets in Vietnam? I'm curious. Thank you.

    • @EigenMoto
      @EigenMoto 25 днів тому

      I cannot speak for Vietnam as I was only there for 1 week and I mostly stayed within district 1 which is generally quite a clean part of the city so I've mostly avoided seeing stuff like that there. As for road rage etc, I think Viet people are really nice, it's chaotic but their drivers are mostly patient and so are some of the other riders so I think that was okay for my 1-2 days of riding. Just note that this is a really small sample size so its a bit biased. However I can speak for my own experiences in Singapore. Road rage does occur often here, although not at the level of aggression as videos I've seen of the states (note, this is from YT riding videos I've watched of the states where people purposely antagonize riders). As for real life experences, I've driven from Boston to Canada before and around the main Boston city area and my general experience has been very pleasant. Driving in Singapore is way more stressful due to a lot of micro-aggressions and the lack of space (roads are far smaller here) but everyone tries to avoid being too agressive due to our tough laws. To answer your question about homelessness in Asia, in Singapore, we have very little homelessness. Like you barely see any and if you do, usually they are picked up by the govt and sent to homeless shelters. There are also very cheap rental public housing (around a $100 a month iirc) available to citizens. Albeit, the system is not perfect and some people still slip through the cracks, it is generally under control here in Singapore. A good book to read on this is "This is what Inequality Looks Like" by You Yenn Teo to really see the hidden side of Singapore. As for drugs, very few in Singapore at least, I'm not sure about other south east asian countries but generally because the laws here are super strict on drugs, they are clamped down very hard. It doesnt seem as rampant as what I see in videos of California etc. There's a lot of history of conflict in Asia, we may seem very peaceful on the outside, but there's a lot of small conflicts here and there due to the fact that Asians are not exactly confrontational generally. You can read about rivalries between China, Japan, Korea. Or even in south east asia where past conflicts between Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore have occured. It is a delicate peace we maintain right now.

    You could just remove them if it rains, couldn't you? I bought some but have not installed them yet. I worry about image quality. The X3 I bought does not have as good of image quality as expected and I don't want to make it worse. I will try them eventually but need to get used to the camera first, so I don't think the lens are the reason for the poor image quality. The quality is only poor when in motion as on my motorcycle. I need to experiment with the camera settings and mounting. I'm used to my 4K GoPro which has much better image quality. Maybe the X4 is better? I didn't buy the X4 because my video editing software will not support 8K, but didn't know you can export the 8K to 4K in 360 studio. I almost returned the camera but decided to keep it and give it a go. Thanks for the review.

    • @EigenMoto
      @EigenMoto 25 днів тому

      I think the value in the X4 for me is the 60fps for 5.8k resolution. Right now I'm recording at 4k 60fps. You can see my latest video in vietnam that was almost fully filmed on the 360x3. I think quality is alright, but you can visually see the difference between the 360x3 vs iPhone/Osmo Action 4

I have not much to offer in terms of answer/experience for qn1 cos I didnt find the learner process easy 😂 and also not a 1 time pass... anyways. Fo4 qn 2, I said the motorcycle with covering probably was a three-wheeler and my boss was surprised. That prompted me to google the three-wheeler models avail in SG. While I know there were a few,i never really read up about them and i was interested all along in the the three wheelers. My boss qn led me to your video essentially. great review thanks!! I was gonna get another bike (2A), keep my current (2B) and maybe even get a 3rd bike (2) if i dont totally leave SG. now i feel like making a three wheeler my 2A bike choice liao. See la see la. @@EigenMoto I'll be using it during my next vacations to Thailand. I just wanted to check your video to be aware of any potential issue beforehand, but it seems like everything will be ok. A huge plus is that if in any scenario you are not happy with it (e.g rain) you can just remove it !

    I am 17 and i wanted to know if it is worth paying double the price for extra safety and better acceleration. I'm thinking Yamaha tricity 300 vs 155 can anyone help

    • @EigenMoto
      @EigenMoto 2 місяці тому

      Hey there! I would say it depends. In my opinion the 155 is sufficient IF AND ONLY IF you spend most of your time travelling in the city. The issue with the Tricity 300 is that it’s really a lot bigger than the 155. So you will have massive issues filtering to the front of the road if needed. Also maintainence cost of the 300 is going to be far higher than the 155. So not only is the machine price 3x but the maintainence cost will also rack up pretty quick compared to the 155.

      @@EigenMoto Thanks! I think ill consider it since i can then get better gear. I want to use it to and from school and i also wanted to know if it handles potholes well, because on the way to school there are a lot of potholes.

      I would say the 155 handles potholes pretty well (you can see my vlog episodes in malaysia, Ive travelled on dusty potholed roads there)

      I had a 2017 Piaggio MP3 300 Business LT..brilliant bike..I did 40,000 miles on it with no mechanical issues. Also I had no real problem filtering through London traffic. However Congestion charge deemed that tricycles longer than 2m would psy £15 daily charge..catching this model and the Yamaha 300 model. The handbrake on my Piaggio was useless and kept being an MOT issue at £400 each time to fix. Also my steering bearings are beginning to go which is an £800 job to fix. Sadly for these 3 issues I had to sell a bike I loved and am now waiting for a new Yamaha 125 Tricity..the new adventure begins.

    What stitching configuration do you run? I have a X3 since yesterday (so im new to insta360) with cheap sticky guard from amazon and the stitching of your video with the sticky guards is better. Lens mode is turned on and the sticky guards are installed correctly. Could be due to aftermarket cheap guards but i would try configurating first before buying other guards

    • @EigenMoto
      @EigenMoto 2 місяці тому

      Hey! I use the standard config (lens guard protector mode) on the x3. Perhaps I can direct you to the new lens guard that insta360 has launched. Its cheaper and I find it better than the sticky lens guard ua-cam.com/video/JrJmNvDDCHI/v-deo.html
