Inside a Tanzanian Town Once Thriving on the Slave Trade 200 Years Ago
Part 1 is here.
ua-cam.com/video/859DR7WifrI/v-deo.htmlsi=Vi8RE6F5A4w-MHc1
In this video, we visit Bagamoyo, a town in the Republic of Tanzania, located on the east coast of Africa, to learn about the history of the slave trade and current local life.
Bagamoyo was once a prosperous town in the slave trade led by Arab traders. Large numbers of Africans were brought to Bagamoyo from the interior of Africa and later exported to the island of Zanzibar, across the coast from Tanganyika.
What do Tanzanians today think about the history of the slave trade? Let's take a closer look at the history of the African slave trade.

This video short displays the tip of the iceberg, when it comes to the Motherland’s ecosystems (economic & ecological). Embedded Abrahamic theological religiosity as disserved misleading dogma and doctrinal perspectives have created ‘shackled souls’, who believe in a Eurocentric Patriarchal supremacy of power and privilege! A webinar would not be able to cover the millennia of dehumanization! This is especially evident in the commodification for ‘melanized darker hued’peoples of the global majority!

Wow, Africa became rich from selling slaves, who would have that. That's why they never asked for reparations. Because they would have to pay reparations to all of the descendants of sold Africans.

With my families tribe it was to "prepare for the pain of being a woman" the point is to suffer. After my sister was cut she was shipped off to the rainforest with her legs bound and had to not die. If you do not die, you are seen as "counsumed by the rainforest and reborn as a woman" an issue is it is the WOMEN who are continuing this. Many men do not want this practice, and they are not involved typically. The elders do this. when my sister was protesting, the women found her and attacked her. She felt so betrayed. What is sad is when i spoke to the older women they said "they took everything from us, this is all we have"

Things is though mate, I went and checked on reportage of the Congo from the BBC. They report on the Congo once or twice per week, and that is just one "major media" outlet. You didn't actually check how often major media companies report on the Congo, you simply assumed. There is very substantial global reporting on the Congo, but, unfortunately, nobody really cares. In fact, I'm going to nudge this back at you... there's is substantial reporting on the Congo and **you** didn't notice it. So, I will ask you a question, and it's answer may make the basis for a video... Why should I care about the Congo? I'm not being combatative, I genuinely expect you to have a good answer. You're making a lot of assumptions mate, and peeling them back, might make good content.

Thank you for your comment. I apologize for the delay in responding. I have been in bed with a fever for the past two days. It is true that major media outlets such as the BBC and French-language media regularly report on the DRC. However, when they narrow their coverage to a specific region, the eastern Congo, and focus on its conflict and poverty, the coverage is significantly less frequent. It is difficult to confirm whether there is coverage once or twice a week, but it is true that compared to wars in other countries, such as Ukraine or Palestine, the amount of coverage is far less. In fact, the conflict in eastern Congo is sometimes referred to by some researchers and analysts as the “forgotten conflict” because of the lack of coverage. As you point out, the reality is that even when there is coverage, few people are interested in the situation in Eastern Congo. However, minerals such as gold, tantalum, tin, and tungsten mined in Eastern Congo are essential for the manufacture of smartphones and computers, which are indispensable for our daily lives, and the situation in Eastern Congo is also connected to our lives, although indirectly. The issue of so-called conflict minerals in Eastern Congo is so complex that it is difficult to explain the whole picture here, so I hope you will watch the other videos I have uploaded. Thank you very much for your interest in my activity.

@@KantafromJapan Watashi wa sono yōna hentō ni ataishimasen. Anata wa watashi o kenkyo ni shimasu. You gave me a reason to care about you. Nicely done. You've got a sub. I still don't know why I would care about conflict in the Congo. I am Anglo-Irish, trucking through my 50s, and I live in West Africa. I know why the war in Ukraine is important to my homeland and why we are actually engaged in that conflict as a primary concern. I know why the conflict in Gaza is important to my homeland... Both these conflicts impact my country and its political environment. African voices have been loud this year. Firm in their purpose, which I admire. They don't want European assistance. They really have been quite clear. We are scum, and we should keep out. So, given conflicts in which I might in some small way affect the outcome, where my help is wanted, and where things may actually be improved... There has been conflict in the Congo for as long as I have been aware of the place. Can this ever end? Should I not, in good conscience, leave this for Africans to resolve, as they have requested? You have convinced me to watch your material through. I saw your comment about your English. It is of a higher standard than most native speakers. Thank you. We are lucky to have people like you in the world. You don't need to reply to this comment. You're a busy chap. Get on with what you're doing.
