Great content. My channel is all about being budget friendly, n i gotta say, my alloy m is a beast! I had a slx n slx xt, n me personally i think the alloy m is a better bang for your buck. Im currently waiting for my carbon xcs to come in, cant wait! Keep it up bro

aint the alloy m a salt water reel? im looking for a good bass/snakehead reel

My Diawa tatula MQ LT is by far the best reel I've used under 300 bucks. That includes my Shimano vanguard

I only buy phflugar reels because iv had trouble with the stadic never have problems with phflugar reels for the money their all I buy only opion buy what you want

I prefer my slx xt's over my regular slx and slx dc's, last year I found some new daiwa tatula sv tws from japan for $140-160 and got 4 of them, those quickly became my favorite over the slx line

i see you left out daiwa, the LT series of daiwas, from the cheapest crossfire to the more expensive like the ballistic, the tatula or other super high end reels, are solid choices and the best reels on their respective price brackets..

My current and favorite is the Shimano Nasci C3000HG

There's a brand new Stradic! As for me, if you fish quite a bit, don't buy cheap- buy good, solid, tight toleranced reels. Yes, it will cost you, but the investment will be well worth it. Once you get to fish with a mid and top tier reel, you will never go back. The cast is prestine, the start-up inertia and lure presentation will catch you more fish, and the drag will out last the fish!

A year ago I picked up an Abu Garcia Black Max as my first ever baitcaster and couldn’t throw it without backlash. Put it away and stuck with spinning reel. Just brought out the baitcaster again to try to throw it and have figured it out practicing at nearby pond. I put fluorocarbon on it because someone suggested it was easier to get out backlashes. I think I want to buy a low gear ratio. I don’t want to be opening the reel to be adjusting brakes constantly. Suggestions? I fish in salt water here in Florida. I liked your presentation. I do love good value reels.

Our big swimbait reels are just winches with drag. Spent way too much on my lexe. I love it but man. See do many odmf us spend stupid $ on a reel then cheap out on our rods. So backwards.

I like the slx xt better than slx... Only because the xt model has dual braking system

Thanks for the advice on baitcasters. I'm pretty new to baitcasting reels but I'm learning. Alloy M seems lika a great bargain! 😊 I have been trying out the brand '13 Fishing' quiet a lot the past year. I like most of 'em. Have you ever tried them? If so, what do you think of 'em? :-)

Team Lews hyper mag 30 for me. I have a '22 ci4 hg + & the lews is hands down a better reel. And its $75 cheaper.

I own 4 vanfords .in my opinion the best reel ive fished with. And yes they still sell the stradic i own one and its super smooth. But for $50 more a reel the vanfords are worth it

Great information on this video. Been looking to venture away from Abu Silvermaxx series and expand my reel selection while keeping my budget in mind. I can cast those Abu's a long way but have yet to find another budget reel that allows me the same distance. I ordered a couple of Piscifun reels to try - very impressed so far. Thanks for the tip! I have a Shimano solstice that’s over 20yrs old. Never cleaned it, I just change line on it every now and then. I’ve never had any issues with it and guess what, it still catches fish.

I'm a big fan of the Vanford for area trout fishing. As I live in Japan, if anyone or their friends happen to be planning a visit, then the Sahara is about 7,000 yen ($50). If you have the chance, then stock up! Though I mainly use Shimano, reels the new Daiwa Legalis is also a great deal.

It's really hard to truly get a "very good" reel in that price point. The reels you showcased are disposable, use it for 1, 2, maybe 3 years and throw them away. If you want a reel that will last, you need to get into a Vanford, Balistic or Tatula. If you want a reel that is in that $80 range, Daiwa Legalis. As a matter of fact, all of the Daiwas from Legalist up are nice, smooth and stand the test of time and take a beating. Piscifun are complete junk, do not waste your money on them. I owned 8 carbon X's at one point, they are all gone. They are a $50 disposable reel. If you fish 5 times a year, any of the reels above will suit you fine. If you plan on being on the water 25+ times a year, buy better stuff, it will save you money in the end. I"ll also add, the idea that spinning reels have no place in bass fishing is truly just a myth. Look at the top guys fishing the elite series the last few years. it used to be 15 rods laying up front with all bait casters, now it's all spinning reels. Just pointing that out.

Piscifun reels are hard to beat I have a bunch of them, as well as the SLX reels I’d also throw the 99$ Lews speed spool lfs in with this group of best bang for your buck reels!!

I have two 4000 sized Shimano spinning reels with 40# Power Pro and two 2500 sized spinning reels with 10# and 6# mono on them. The 10# I use for bass fishing mostly drop shooting as and the 6# for small lures and panfish one day each year. I catch one hundred bluegills in one day and that enough panfish for the year except for when I go catfishing. I can usually just buy some wax worms and trade them to some kids for a bunch of tiny bluegills for cut bait.
