Yes, Somalia used to feed itself and used to send big charities to Arabian countries in the Sahara desert before the colonials in Africa. When colonials reached Africa, they destroyed the daily life of the Somali people. They had several strategies to create to over power the Somali people. I can tell you two of their worest startegies which were. 1) to create nation wide starvation so that they can control the people. 2). To secretly kill the powerful religious and tribal leaders to weeken their power so as to control the people and the country. The somali cattle only were more than the number of Somali people in tje entire country. That means when Somalia was about three million, the cattle only were over five million. There were a good number of camels as well, about two million. And sheep and goat more than seven million. The colonial powers secretly poisoned the Somali animals and secretly poisened the leaders of the community. That is how they destroyed the whole country. Somali never needed farming.
