Good review Joker, I always find your rambling strangely entertaining. I hope you get the Nickel Plate Road PA with the passenger cars. Street price will be $200 per passenger car, which is a good price for extruded 21" cars in 2024 hyper-inflated Biden Bucks. Sadly I don't think they fixed the goofy marker lights on the Y6b. I love my Big Boy and Class A even with the lasers 😆

I like that Ferromex, and it should have spanish crew talk and probably won't. The Seaboard Mountain looks good, but I would have to see the colors before I buy it. I want the CPKC ES44 #9375, and almost lost it when I saw they made it a Lionchief, first scale version gets my money.

I am so glad I bought so many Williams locomotive. I can't believe the prices that Lionel is asking for things and they don't offer anything in conventional only you have to buy them with all the bells and whistles and they can keep those.

Prices are astronomical and absolutely absurd. All of these electronics make toy trains ridiculously expensive as well as unreliable in the long run and expensive to repair when not if they fail.

Another fantastically crusty video Zac! Definitely getting the S&A unit and am considering getting a GG1 as my first Top Shelf engine. I thought it would be the Hudson too, but I knew the GG1 was right there in the running with it too. Maybe we will see a back to back offering next year instead of the seemingly normal new tooling then rerun.

I too have a JLC Y6b and yes, I too had a window missing. I inherited it from my father and the window was missing while he had it. I hand made a replacement window, wasn't too difficult but it took time. I sent mine to Gunrunner John for his super chuffer upgrades and I'm glad I did. I wanted to keep the original TMCC whistle as it was so liked by my Dad back in 2003 when he bought it. I purchased a Legacy Y6b. about two years ago and I have been able to secure a couple 3rd Rail Y6b's. One of them #2171 had been totally gutted of all electronics except it still had it's smoke unit. It was also missing all rods and linkages on the engineer-side rear 'engine'. I installed ERR and a better smoke unit (going to get with my brother [electronics engineer] soon and design a small board to adapt an MTH smoke unit into an ERR systems. I bought some rod 9large drive rod and linkeage rod) replacements from Lionel (3rd rail does not support their products after a certain age) and I hand-made the rest of the rods. It runs beautifully for which I am thankful. My other 3rd Rail Y6b is #2190 and it runs just fine. The Y6b and the Allegheny are two of my favorite locomotives. Sid did a great job with your upgrade on this model. Comparing them side by side, the JLC model has all the same detailing as the later Legacy model with a few modifications underneath. First, the back engine traction tires are moved to the far back set of drivers (definitely for maintenance' sake) and second, underneath the boiler over the front engine, there is a brace sort of like 3rd Rail that puts boiler weight on the front drivers and keeps you from being able to press down on the front of the boiler and cause the rear drivers to come up off the rails. The loco feels more balanced.

I just bought a PS2 Y3 but the tender is from a Class A with PS1 electronics in it. Gonna get it upgraded to PS3 so it will be a PS3 Y3 with a Class A tender. Gonna be a very unique engine when its done
