United States
Приєднався 21 лип 2023
Hello Everyone, my name is Tom. My channel will be focused on sharing with you, my time in nature. Many of the outdoor activities and projects will be centered around my home and also The Trailer at The Land where my father and I spent so much time along with other special places in Wisconsin. "The Trailer" at "The Land" has been in my family now over 50 years.
The channel will also focus on being positive and present (something I need to work on more) while encouraging everyone to try something new, get out into nature and appreciate how learning about nature can provide well-being and peace. I may add an occasional poem of mine along with one of my photographs. I appreciate your time spent with me in nature!!

Incredible ice fishing day in northern Wisconsin. Lots of action!! We were fishing with tip-ups for Northern Pike and hoping for a possible Walleye. The ice was only 6-8 inches thick on a almost 50 degree day. Fishing was very active and the dogs had a ton of fun.

Deer gun hunt 2023 4K

Enjoy with me the 2023 gun deer hunt at our hunting camp in Wisconsin. The camp is almost 50 years old and has hosted so many fun and successful hunts. Our strategy is let the deer grow so we only harvest larger size bucks mostly focusing on antler size and then body size. This year we also focused on taking does. Our deer camp focus is to have fun and enjoy the time at camp!! The video does no...

This is movie 1 about the Oak Savanna restoration project on my property Marking the boundaries that will be restored. US Fish and Wildlife has identified my property as having terrific potential for restoring an Oak Savanna. Oak Savanna used to be the predominate land area across much of the USA. This cold front was really fun to see coming. After several weeks of warm weather and not hunting that much at all the cold temperatures got me excited to be on the stand. The result of tonights sit was not expected. I decided to take a nice buck. It was a good deer and I am very happy with it!! Its not the biggest out there but there are too many plans this Fall to completed so I decided to ta...

Fun trip, Up-North, in Wisconsin. Musky fishing and Duck hunting. The trip was super fun even though it rained the entire time. Always an adventure!! We returned to our favorite fishing spot which is a long boat ride and also to our favorite duck hunting river which is a long paddle in the dark. We got caught in a rain storm both times and did not connect but it was a very fun adventure!!! My n...
First Duck Hunt

First duck hunt of the year. Appreciate you taking time to tune in. We went to a blind by my house that I built. I have not hunted ducks much but the pond at the house is usually quite active with Wood Ducks and Sand Hill Cranes during the Summer. In the Fall many northern ducks will stop over to rest so its a nice opportunity to watch and now hunt. My friend Mike joined along with his dogs. We...

Great video. We hunt up in Sawyer county. “Wolf Country.” Hunting is generally slow nowadays up there but we sure have fun at deer camp. What a fun video to watch. Awesome job on opening weekend.
Thanks for the nice reply!! We have a lot of fun and thats the mail point as you note above!! The north woods has changed so much since I was young in the late 1970's. More wolves, More mature forests and unfortunately less deer. I wish the need for forest products was better so we could do more cutting up north to create some better habitat for deer and other animals. So much mature forest doesn't hold the deer very well and the wolves can see for long distances as there is no thick new growth. Easy to run down the deer who have no place to hide anymore.
@ very well said sir. Totally agree. Bringing back the wolf hunt would help as well. I remember the days when going up to Northern Wisconsin was the place to go! You hardly see anyone up there anymore. The days of registering your deer at the gas station where all the hunters in their area meet up and tell tales of their hunts. Deer hunting is much different nowadays. But deer camp stays the same.
Awesome stand and set up. Love the blind looks nice and cozy 👍
Nice video!
Appreciate the comment!!!
i been hunting in wisconsin since2000 public and private land… to me, waupaca county and waushara county are the best for big monster buck… i normally hunt on my friend’s property on waushara county and once in awhile in poy sippi … i shot my biggest buck at my friend’s property 160” … i was chasing an 8 pointer with a3” drop tine, thick mass around 160” for 4 yrs wouldn’t shoot any buck, but him…my 4th year, chasing, “ big 8 “ came to an end?!?! big 8 was taken by an old elderly lady’s malibu?!!!
Appreciate the comment. I agree we are in a terrific area with lots and maybe too many deer. too bad to hear about your big 8 being taken by a malibu
@ 6 neighbors were after it for 4 yrs and taken out by a malibu is funny at all… such a majestic beast, the good thing was plenty of his gene pool around
Good choice on that tree. Be safe out there with that chainsaw.
Appreciate the comment! The wife always says that to me....Lol
Great videos, I just started watching them today. How did you contact the US Fish and Wildlife Service? My 40 acres are in NW Wisconsin.
I just called several offices until someone picked up. contact would be Brendan Woodall. 608-444-1689. He is the Biologist responsible for restoration of both private and public lands in wisconsin
@@LandWhispererThank you for Brendan’s contact info. Really enjoy your videos
Nice channel. Very entertaining for someone who is also located in Wisconsin. I love deer Camp videos.
Appreciate the comment!!
...NICE!!!...😀
Thanks for the encouragement!!
y'all had a wonderful hunt and the little one is coming right into it 2
Thanks for the comment. Seeing younger people get into hunting and the outdoors is great to see and I am trying to encourage that.
I'll tell you what worked very well for me in Northern Wisconsin I had alot of undesirable trees that had no benefit I was told cut them half way through the tree and pull it as if you want it still connected ( hinge cutting) to base but branches and limbs are on the ground. The branches stay alive but you create food and you create cover. You do this on a hillside or a bottom and deer feel safe but if you are in a stand you can see them. Really works great to create cover..I did it to probably 30 trees in a area 1/4 acre in size and it did wonders deer never used it because it was to open, but now they feel safe with some cover..
Thanks for comment. Will try that on some of the trees. I have a few box elder that it might work well. I was really happy with cutting so many ash trees before the emerald borer killed them. we cut the live ash trees completely down and the stumps really sprouted well hopefully growing a new big tree some day. Appreciate your thoughts!!
Absolutely enjoyed this video, I live along the Alabama Gulf coast area, we have the beautiful beaches. I actually moved to Northern Wisconsin ( Glidden Wi) in 2015 bought 40 acres and home. I loved it but my dad passed away in 2016 and moved back for my mother. I have put in for a bear tag every yr since I have 9-10 points to get drawn. I have no place to go when I get my bear tag, but can't wait till I do.. Thanks for the memories and I'll watch all your videos on out.
What a terrific comment. We tried Florida for a few years after retirement but it wasn't for us.....too congested and insurance and other costs started exploding higher. Now back in Wis and loving being in the woods again along with a nice white Christmas this year. good luck with the bear hunting!! Thanks for watching!!!
That is less than nothing 😂
Your comment contains a double negative so I will take it that you really enjoyed the content!!! Thank-you for responding
@LandWhisperer that was your comment to one of the poker hands if you remember
Your camp is nice. Accept that Obama plate you have on the wall
We are all very respectful hunters and friends and don't spend much time if any talking politics. Its just great to be in the woods with good friends hunting the mighty whitetail
@LandWhisperer agreed
Great camp and video. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it. appreciate the comment
One thing about licking branches you don’t want to get to many you want them to consecrate on one spot especially on a good stand your going to to hunt just a tip I learned
Appreciate the reply. The new mock scrape and lick on the video is not one of my best but its in a great location. I Agree with your comment. My mock scrapes and lick branches are usually only 1 per stand and only 1 vine. My goal is that area improves as the new Savanna begins to grow up.
Great video! Love the tips on indoor deer stands - super helpful. And I gotta say, the host is looking extra fine today. Keep up the awesome work, you're making learning about hunting way more fun!
Had a deer camp in northern PA for 40+ years. Your camp captures camp life perfectly. Very enjoyable!!
Appreciate the comment. Im lucky to have kept the camp. who knows what the kids will do with it.........
Thanks for sharing. The personal history behind all of it makes it so much better. I totally appreciate the memories and sentiments. Keep on the traditions!!!!
I appreciate the kind words. Always enjoy sharing the camp with everyone!

Love everything! Great content! Love what you have going! Congratulations and continue the memories!
Appreciate the terrific reply. Its been a lot of work but so much fun creating the camp.
Oh man, I remember playing 'In Between"... We called it Acey Ducey. That game can get out of hand real quick lol - Thanks for jogging the memory!
Super fun card game for sure. It can get out of hand!!! We play if you match one of the 2 cards you pay double your bet. makes it very exciting and very loud at times!!! thanks for comment!!
Northern trials is the best
For sure!!
Nothing like seeing you all together friends and family sending time doing what love. If those walls could talk. Thanks for sharing enjoy for as long as you can.
Thanks for the kind response!!
Really a nice job showing that “deer camp” is much more than just shooting deer (even though your crew had a dream season). Your correct by stating you realize how fast time goes when you start to get older. We hunt near Shiocton and our crew is getting “long in the tooth”! I can tell you find leaving a record of past hunts important. I started a camp log 40+ years ago that morphed into a “website/diary/camp log”. It’s pure gold. Past pictures and entries are a great way to reminisce. Keep up the good work and continue the vids.
What a terrific comment. Said very well!! Appreciate your thoughts
Man what a tradition. I would love to experience something like that. Here in the south our season is so long that you don’t really get that intense week of comradely.
What a terrific comment. Its a fun camp for sure. Our bow season in Wisconsin is very long starting in September through early January. Gun season like you say is very short at only 9 days. It also can be quite cold by the start of gun season which begins the saturday before thanksgiving.
@@LandWhispererour season here in Alabama bow season starts in October you can bow hunt till mid February. And rifle is from November -Mid February. Our rut is from mid January till February.in south Alabama and from November in far northern Alabama..so very long season you can harvest 3 bucks and a doe a day, yes so you could shoot 90+ does if you wanted.
Great video of your deer camp and all the success. Thanks for a job well done by all!
Appreciate the comment!! It was another fun year
Great video! Looks like your camp had an awesome year. You truly capture what deer hunting is all about. Keep it up!
Thanks for the comment. Its a special place for me. Terrific to hear from someone who understands Deer Camp!!
Great video. How many acres do you have in total? Looks like a great hunting setup.
Appreciate the comment. We have 70 acres but have Ag around us which helps a bunch. The recent timber cut was amazing....it looked ugly after it was first done but now the deer are everywhere!!!
Love watching all the other camp videos, keep em up guys. Glad you had a good time!
Appreciate the comment!!!
Im from menasha
I'm from Neenah
Great video. Congrats on the nice bucks! I need to make a deer camp video next year like you have done for our Kentucky camp. I like your blind with the bean bag slide windows. What brand is that? Thanks in advance for your help.
Thanks for the comment. The blind is a 360.......windows work great. 2 sizes are available along with either tinted or not tinted. if your gun hunting get the smaller windows........larger windows are for bow.
@ thanks!
GREAT CONTENT!!
appreciate the comment!!
Congrats on a great opening weekend!
thanks for the reply
Great hunt for your camp this year! We did alright this year at our camp as well. More hunters this year meant more stands were covered to see deer. I didn't shoot a big buck, but I got some meat from a small nub buck.
appreciate the reply. we did well. glad you liked the video
I live in maine I have the same Fulton guns poster at my deer camp
Thanks for the comment. I accumulated the signs over 30 years. Brings back memories
that schmidt scenic can collection.....priceless...always liked the collie dog
Thanks for commenting!! I collected schmitt beer cans when I was young. Then recently found 400 cans for sale on craigs list.......all for $100. Now I give them away for fun. Glad you enjoyed the video!!
Loved the video, stories, and overall deer camp. Keep the videos coming. Beautiful property.
Thanks for the comment. I run out of ideas for other videos. would appreciate ideas of what you might like to see. Please send ideas
1:12:03 I hate this part.....it hurts every year......you have a new subscriber!!!! Loved the video!!!!!
Thanks for the comment........made my day It really does hurt inside to see another deer camp come to an end. few will ever understand it. The experience is like no other I can think of.
Great video. Great camp. Great family. Thank you for sharing
Appreciate the comment!
Not only a very interesting and entertaining video about deer camp, but also a very special tribute to our family hunting land - my brother has done a great job not only maintaining and improving this property but also continuing the legacy our father left behind over 20 years ago.
Thank-you saying that!!!
You would know if you changed the orvice if you didn’t there would be black soot on everything
I like to kid my brother in law about it........every year I ask him. thanks for the comment.....good to know!
Great video. Put together super nicely !
thanks for the nice comment! appreciate it
Fantastic video! The skill and passion for hunting really come through. If you're into the outdoors, this is a must-watch. Definitely share this with anyone who appreciates great hunting content!
Wow, what a great comment!! appreciate you sharing the video with others
How many acres do you all hunt ?
we have about 200 acres. I hunt the outside edges and the trails that lead from bedding to food. we are in a heavy agriculture area.....probably 50% forest and 50% Ag
Wow beautiful country and nice job on the deer. Dandy bucks. Congratulations guy's and gal's.
Appreciate such a positive and kind reply!!!
I'm in the northwest corner of Waupaca county and this would have been my 55th year hunting my land, but while preping the cabin 3 days before the gun opening, i had a reoccuring heart issue come up, and had to leave to get needed help. So watching your deer camp video was a joy. I sure hope to get anither chance. Stay safe.
Thank you for the comment. Sorry to hear about your health challenge. I suffer from PVC's so I know a little about what you are feeling. Stay well my friend!
Cool hunting camp. I'm from Georgia. I hunt alot most seasons. As I get older. I hunt in a ground blind most of the time. Good luck.
Thanks for the comment. Climbing ladders in the dark is no longer fun for me......agreed that we get closer to the ground as we get older
