For generations, they had disputed the rich veins of iron and gold hidden within Kragnir Peak. As the sun set on the eve of the summer solstice, the Redfang army, led by the cunning Gorthok the Unyielding, marched towards the Blackaxe stronghold. The air was heavy with the stench of smoke and sweat as the goblins prepared for battle. Among the Redfang, a warband of twelve elite goblins, known as Gorthok’s Fangs, prepared for a mission of unparalleled danger. Each mission they undertook for their Dark Lord was deadlier than the last, and each mission saw the death of one of their number. Their first mission took them deep into the Mountain Realm, to retrieve the ancient Horn of the Goblins, hidden within a labyrinth of caves. They encountered vicious creatures and treacherous traps. As they secured the horn, Kragg, the strongest among them, fell to a spike trap. With heavy hearts, the remaining eleven returned, their prize in hand. Next, they were sent to Trollslottet, tasked with stealing the mystical Nordanvinden, a relic said to control the winds. Shrouded in dense fog, they navigated the perilous landscape, only to be ambushed by trolls. In the chaos, Sneerk, the swiftest goblin, was torn apart. Yet, they escaped with the relic, one less than before. Their third mission saw them venturing beyond the Mist, into a realm where reality twisted and turned. They sought the secrets hidden there, but the mist played tricks on their minds. Ruknar, who had been their guiding light through darkness, succumbed to madness and walked off a cliff. Then came the Lone Wizard, an ancient enemy who emerged from the depths of the mountain. Tasked with slaying him, the goblins fought valiantly. The wizard’s power was immense, and Zarg, the bravest of them all, was incinerated by a spell. With their combined might, they defeated the wizard, but the cost was high. In Trollslottet again, they faced De Nio Namnen, the Nine Names, nine powerful spirits bound to protect an ancient artifact. They managed to outwit the spirits, but Ulg, their cunning strategist, was possessed and had to be slain by his own comrades. They were then sent to light the Pyre, a signal to rally the goblin clans. The journey was fraught with peril, and during the ascent, Thrum, their stalwart defender, was struck by lightning and fell to his death. They lit the pyre, and the mountain echoed with the war cries of uniting goblins. Their next task brought them to a dark prophecy, För Detta Viker Det Onda, which spoke of an ancient evil awakening. To prevent it, they ventured into cursed lands. Here, Grik, their healer, was consumed by shadows, screaming as he was dragged into the darkness. In Vikorra Doom, they sought an artifact from the Realm of Dust and Darkness. This realm was harsh and unforgiving. Mulg, the wise elder, was swallowed by a sandstorm, his knowledge lost forever. They retrieved the artifact, but their hearts grew heavier. Facing Xalul, a monstrous guardian of the realm, was their next mission. In the ensuing battle, Vrek, their fiercest warrior, was crushed under Xalul’s mighty claws. They managed to slay the beast and returned victorious but broken. Their penultimate mission saw them in a grim encounter where a Fallen Warrior stood again. Once a hero, now a revenant, he was a formidable foe. During the fight, Drak, their marksman, was impaled by the undead warrior. They finally put the fallen hero to rest, but at a great cost. The final mission took them to the Castle Halls, where the heart of the Blackaxe clan resided. They were to end the war by assassinating the Blackaxe chieftain. The halls were heavily guarded, and traps were everywhere. During their infiltration, Skrim, their shadowy assassin, was caught and executed. Only Gorthok, the Unyielding, remained. He completed the mission, slaying the Blackaxe chieftain and returning as the sole survivor. The warband of twelve had dwindled to one, each mission taking its toll. Gorthok returned to his clan, a hero but also a mourner, bearing the weight of his fallen comrades as he led the Redfang to victory. The Mountain Realm fell silent as the war ended, but the tales of Gorthok’s Fangs echoed through the ages, a testament to their bravery and sacrifice in the name of their Dark Lord.

First track takes me back to the 1990s. Reminds me of Annie-Dog from the Smashing Pumpkins' gloomy synth album Adore, as well as the Spice Opera soundtrack from the first Dune PC game (MS DOS)

The First song makes me feel like the last knight of my order, lost in a maze of intrepid swampy caves filled to the brim with goblin warriors and archers.

Great mix. Not sure if most of this still qualifies as "Dungeon Synth" and not as an actual ambient soundtrack, but it's really great and evocative. 3:45 is definitely missing some raunchy saxophones, though....
