Silverado Revival Day 3 - Trim / Seatbelts / Carpet
The continued revival of the new to me Chevy Silverado. In this video I tackle removing some of the trim and the seats, work on getting the carpet prepared for cleaning in a coming video. Get the center console out and show you how dirty it is inside and I explain why the seatbelts need to come off as well as break a tool during seatbelt removal processes. I also go over some of the ridiculous engineering that GM uses to put on plastic covers for the seat bolts in the passenger seat.

Properly and Easily Remove a 1997 Silverado Jack Storage Box (The end shows a good reason to do it!)
Переглядів 26519 годин тому
I got a new to me 1997 Silverado Extended Cab and I'm ripping the interior apart to clean it and try to breathe new life into the inside of the vehicle. I needed to get the Jack Storage Box removed from under the passenger side rear seat to clean the carpets underneath and around the box. I'm also not planning on putting the box back in the truck. The large mounting stud that the top screw goes...

Project Silverado - Day 2 - Driverside Door Lock Fix and Power Steering Pump Replacement!

Working on the Silverado because the driver's side door locking mechanism is not working and I could not lock up the truck. Also the power steering did not work when I got it, I was aware of this issue before I agreed to the trade, but now I have to deal with getting it fixed as I almost ran into my own car in my driveway as I was pulling the truck in. Reason #812 to deep clean a new old vehicle that just became yours.

I just became the proud owner of a 1997 Chevy Silverado. 27 year old cars/trucks come with a lot off issues. I'm deep cleaning the interior of the truck and upon removing the rear seat floor mounted jack storage box I discovered one of those "Issues" a hidden mouse house. Hopefully nobody is home when I discard it.

      I found that the worst part was really trying to figure out how to get all the timing cover bolts out quickly and easily with the "LIMITED" amount of space between the serpentine belt pulleys and the passenger engine bay frame rail. What was the worst part for you?

    I own a 2.4 sebring convertible 2008 which got totaled. I also have a 2008 2.7 touring convertible which would pop fuse 59 everytime it would crank and then shut off in 5 seconds. Finally narrow down to the Tipm they are known to be faulty in these car. But to answer your question you gotta match the part number of the tipm cause some have different features then each other and due to that any tipm will work but not all feature cause it was made for a specific sebring with vin. My car wouldnt run at all other stay crunk so i had to get remanufacter one programmed to vin.

    Helpful video. Thanks for doing the comparison. Each shared experience helps us all. I know that wetter grass will fold down easier as I mow it. Wet grass will also tear. It's noticeable if you've used a weed wacker/string cutter on very tall grass where "sharpness" is constant. The top cuts cleaner. Tips: It's easier to push down than to pull up to loosen a tight bolt (body weight vs muscle strength). Tip: Blade rotation is in the direction to tighten the fastening bolt. You don't need to "torque" it. Tip: Blade edges last longer if, after mowing they are cleaned and sprayed with a water repellent before storage. Silicone or fluid film work fine and will stop the bare metal of the sharp edge from rusting during storage. (Look at what happens in 2 days of humid weather to brake rotors not driven.) Comment: areas of lawns with dandelions and broadleaf plants are calcium deficient (and may be magnesium deficient.) Fine limestone or calcium nitrate fertilizer will cure that and by making the soil less acidic, naturally reduce the dandelions over time.

    This is a bad test/comparison. Waste of time. Had you cut half the yard with a bad blade then do the sharpen and cleaning would yield the true result. I go over my yard a second time to get clumps all the time and it cleans right up so you didn't have a good "control" so to speak. The line of clumps is probably from the direction the blades are turning forcing all the grass to that side of the deck....

    • @jessesworld6400
      @jessesworld6400 2 місяці тому

      Yes I agree that going over it a second time helps with clumps, but this makes 3 passes I had to make to remove the clumps and the grass wasn't even that tall on the first pass. It had been at least 72 hours since it had rained and the grass didn't seem extra wet or anything. Also as I stated a first pass with this mower even on taller grass usually yields a much better result with only 1 pass, so something was different or out of the norm. My mower does not usually leave that line along the right side either. Which is why I even started looking into the deck and blade. I do however see the logic in mowing half with the dull blade and then the other half with the sharp one and clean deck. I have a dull crappy blade in the garage. Maybe next week I can do it your way with the other blade. Appreciate the comment either way, have a great rest of your day.

      Garden hose, use the jet setting on a standard hose nozzle, it will take longer, but will work. Also if you have some kind of old scrub brush that you don't mind getting dirty it could be helpful. I use old dish cleaning brushes that have been retired from the dishes to clean nasty stuff like this because if it gets ruined it doesn't matter it was probably headed for the trash anyways.

    I’m assuming that frame is load bearing? I just installed a dryer vent box because the delivery guys who installed my new dryer crushed my vent sleeve and I almost had a fire. So that was fun. I took down the doors and framing to pop it out about 6 inches because I was running into the side door opening issue as well. This is so awesome Jesse! I wish I had more leaves fall on my lawn because I want to do this too. Absolutely it adds nutrients to the soil. The more organic matter the better the soil is. We have no fences in our neighborhood so the wind blows all the leaves around except for a few spaces. I capture those leaves and cut them up. But it's no where near what you have. This is the best video for leaf chopping! Bravo.

    This is my next project, thanks for sharing. Just for future reference, almost all dryer doors have reversible swings, just like refrigerators. I heard you mention in the beginning of your video that it took a while to find a dryer with the right door swing.

      @jessesworld6400 4 місяці тому

      Thanks I did look into that but some of the ones that I was seeing at least didn't look like the door was reversible, eventually the awesome opportunity came my way to buy the ones I got from my friend at a very nice price. I had to jump on the deal I got.

      I know you're right, but unfortunately I don't have a lot of instant change stuff going on in my life, most of it is gradual and I don't have a lawn care company or anything where I could get a lot of this type of content! I do love doing this kind of work though and wouldn't mind being able to do more of it!

      Unfortunately that's not the only thing you should look for, today as in Saturday Feb 3 I'm going to be replacing the rear wheel housing bushings and toe link adjustment arm. My rear end is all over the place in rain and on snow. It is also eating back tires, 3rd new set of rear tires will be going on the car later this week because of the bushings being shot. A new video will be coming soon showing in detail this disaster waiting to happen, but once I get these bushings replaced and the toe link replaced, I can take the car in for an alignment and hopefully make it so that it stops eating my rear tires like it's a Thanksgiving dinner for the Sebring.

    brother i also recently upgraded from an amd fx 8320 eight core processor which i had overcloked to 4.5ghz and a sabertooth 99fx r2.0 this pc had an nvidia gtx 1650 oc from asus which i kept in my new system. now i have amd ryzen 5 5500 nvidia gtx 1650 oc edition from asus asus prim a520M - K operating system on the old PC was windows11. The operating system on my new PC is Windows11. My Old pc did not support windows 11 but I used an unnsuported method. Recommend ICUE dashboard. @jessesworld6400 5 місяців тому

      Fortunately enough I didn't have to do anything for windows to recommend 11 as an upgrade and I know I did say I wasn't sure I wanted to move to it, but I did it reluctantly. My big issue with Windows 11 was the right click function that they screwed up, where you get a simple small menu first and you have to click show more options to get the big one. I use the right click function to move copy paste and do a bunch of stuff like that way too often to be doing all that. Luckily I found an article where I could modify the registry so that it's gives me the big full menu automatically without having to click show more options so I'm happy with the move now.

    You are absolutely right, I just looked it up in the manual online since my refurbished board didn't come with one, oddly enough it says I should put the sticks in slots A2 and B2 if I only have two modules. Thanks for pointing out my oversight, I'm typically more aware of things like that when putting a system together, but like I stated in this video I'm always using old used or hand me down hardware before now. This is my first new at least kind of nice system that I've had in years. I will definitely move the ram to slots A2 and B2. @nomad24623

      I got into the case and used my phone flashlight and looked at the stamping on the board and front left to right it goes, empty, filled, empty, filled, there is a couple lines pointing to slot 2 and 4 that say FIRST on them, so I moved it all around, but honestly this 6000 mhz ram doesn't on the surface seem like it cared that I had the ram in the wrong slots
