HAPPY CANADA DAY! 30 Minutes of Relaxing Sounds from “A Day In Algonquin Park” (ON, 1955)
I believe that uploading this obscure vinyl is the perfect way to celebrate Canada’s 157th anniversary, not only because of its contents but where I discovered the record itself. This recording features many of the sounds which can be found outdoors in Algonquin National Park (Northern Ontario), and was released by the Federation of Ontario Naturalists in 1955. Enjoy!

THIS WAS HILARIOUS! Me and my sister quiz each other on our music knowledge…
Great find. I love this sort of thing. The music of nature is often the best of all. And you're playing something even older than I am :-)) Happy national day.
Thanks for the support! Yeah I thought it was kind of a neat idea for a record, so I posted it.
Great stuff great channel great cat
I saw Nektar in 1975 in NYC I was 16 great show Remember the Future tour
I’m sure it was mesmerizing, considering Nektar’s prog and space rock origins.
Hey there's your great cat again. Mine was named Hunter my best friend
That’s nice to hear! The little furball you see off to the right there is Ginny.
Hey I love your ginger cat. I had one for 15 years. They are the GREATEST.
Thanks! Yes, she is great to hangout with.
Interesting
Nice reaction. Going to F# from D is a kind of Flamenco move, giving it a rich harmonic feel (technically it's 'secondary dominant'). Do you have perfect pitch? If so, I'm jealous 😊.
Thanks! Lol I wouldn’t say I have perfect pitch, but I can definitely recognize chords and melodies. You seem to know your stuff quite well though. Did you happen to take any music courses?
@@bands_uncovered8347 Not formally. I give guitar lessons, so I've looked things up over the years because people ask me things and expect me to know 🙂. Most of my learning was/ is by instinct, experience, imitation and absorbing influences. I'm rarely thinking in formal terms while playing, but I can work it out afterwards.
Could you imagine seeing this on television in the UK?
I heard Day tripper at the end of Roll n Roll woman!
Great video mate, the only one I have found to show the whole song 💪🏻🤘🏻
That was a full concert?
Yes, although I am aware that it was very short. Such was the case, unfortunately, at the Monterey Pop Festival.
Wish this complete CBC performance would make it it to UA-cam. The fact that this brief clip exists leads me to believe the complete performance still is in the CBC Toronto archives.
Not sure I love the vocals, but that's a very cool bass line. And your playing along is really good too.
Thank you! Yeah, I suppose the vocals are an acquired taste.
OH, FUG -- it's Blue Cheeer! Holy mack arrrreLLL
Good choice! Love’s bassist Ken Forssi was badass! (I can still remember the first time I heard this song when the album was released!)
I'm so disappointed that their performance was not ever released. The most interesting band of the whole show for me.
You were at Monterey? Lucky!
@@bands_uncovered8347 I wasn't at Monterey but I did see The Paupers live on TV several times before they played there. I also bought the album Magic People as soon as it came out. Of all the bands that played there, they were the band I would have most wanted to see.
Are used to ski in Aspen, Colorado to Stephen Stills music, he was my hero and what a talent, he never stopped trying something new
Demais!!!
Thank you for this! My copy of Storm Over Tucson cuts out right before “My Rocinante sailed by night”, but this one’s complete. Proof that the source material exists. I don’t get it. But a huge thank you!🙏
If you’re interested, the full bootleg can be found here - ua-cam.com/video/r7d2NyzhIAM/v-deo.htmlsi=e-FDQEreFCqNfOOS
@@bands_uncovered8347 That’s actually the one I have. That link also cuts off at that same place. Scroll forward in that video and you’ll hear it. There’s like 40 seconds of the song missing.
Which begs the question, where did the audio of Hemispheres come from? It’s not from the whole Storm Over Tucson that you just sent. You must have two different sources.
Scroll to 1:00:05 on the link you posted of Storm Over Tucson and listen. “Some who did not fight brought tales of old to light” and then it fades out, just like mine. Your Hemispheres video does not. It’s perfect. Anyway I really do appreciate having a complete version, which I’m going to rip from UA-cam and stick as an mp4 into my Storm Over Tucson files.😄👍🏻✌️
@@Major7Melodious Oh, maybe I sent you a link to the wrong video. Anyways, I’m glad you enjoyed!
THERES SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS RECORDING EITHER FIX IT OR GET RID OF IT PLEASE!
Oh yes, Cameron! I love his "Calm Before the Storm" and his "Cycle is Complete". I feel he was before his time.
Neil Young makes that Gibson sound like a sitar 😂
Richie Furay goofing around on the acoustic because he knows they're just mime-ing Good times!
They're miming to a rough cut of, "Sit-down I love you".
Nice shot of Dewey Martin on the drums

release as is.......AND I WOULD BUY IT......PLEASE.
I don’t know if I could but I appreciate your support!
The '78 Tucson show is one of the best Rush bootlegs out there. Not just the sound quality, but the dialogue between Geddy and crowd is crazy ("do you understand English? MOVE BACK!")
Wonderfull!!! Amazing!!! Incredible piece of truly hard rock!!!
So pretty hippie chick.
They did shake the world of music. I mean music lovers. Thank you.
Glad I discovered your channel. Hope you get a million subscribers. Thank you.
That means a lot to me, thank YOU.
This is why I can’t get out of the sixties. And proud of it. Thanks.
I don’t blame you!
What can you say about one of rocks best vocalists and their supreme guitarist? And the others are excellent. Thank you.
You picked a very good band to give us some rare music. Anybody seen the Seeds movie, I sure would like to. Excellent channel. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much!
You made my day. I saw them when they opened for The Rolling Stones at the Hollywood Bowl. I remember my brother said he saw them at the Shrine Hall in L. A. He said they played one song for a hour. Thanks for great music.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nothing like a live recording -- imperfections and all!
The BEST of HEEP!!!❤❤❤
The Classic Line-up! Sounds like band were hitting their peak! Can you imagine audience being given early versions of Easy Livin', Rainbow Demon & The Wizard ? Would've lost my bleedin' mind!
Tt
Great!!! Many thanks for this Real gem!!! UFO 1 just were the Best!!!
Agree 100% with H.E. comments! UFO was just the Early Ufo incl. Mick Bolton! Later on, forget it...
Mark Naftalin too ... Great band !
🚂💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨🚂💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨🤣
They have a whole album's worth recorded. Good stuff. It ain't Rush, but who else is?
1967 wow 12-13 yrs old 🤠😄🏄🏾🚴🏽♀️
In most of the old Springfield videos that I’ve seen, they are lip syncing. The ones that really are live are out of tune and sound like shit . They didn’t play well live.Weird Neal Young was hardly around. I love the one where they are strumming acoustic guitars and the track plays wild distorted guitars.
Nailed it
Thank you!
