WATER ABSORPTION TRENCH (WAT) :- It saves the downstream treatments from the intense storm.It should be strictly taken on contour. 3 rows or lines of WATS shall be taken on uniform slopping land, one at the top, second at the middle and last at the lower portion.Extra runoff is diverted into natural gullies.Max.size of WAT is 1 x 1 m. Typically trenches will be from 300 to 900mm deep, and both the depth and overall length will be governed by soil type and anticipated wastewater volume.

whats the diffrence between recharge pit and WAT?
Basically the difference between the recharge pit and WAT is not much but the basic is the recharge pit is constructed to recharge the aquifers and to increase the ground water level (To make connection with ground water) And the WAT is a Absorption Trench that simply absorbed the running water across the land together with the sediment deposition process (Trench makes the sediment to settle and allow water to go down but the connection of the water is not clear because it will meet the ground level or may go to interflow )
can you suggest the site selection criteria for WAT such as slope, and other, can we vary the dimensions if required as per site?
Yes, of course I will try to make such videos regarding your query. And according to me the dimensions should be adjustable as per site but not so far....the dimensions which I have given in video are according to the Nabard norms.
