Basically the difference between the recharge pit and WAT is not much but the basic is the recharge pit is constructed to recharge the aquifers and to increase the ground water level (To make connection with ground water) And the WAT is a Absorption Trench that simply absorbed the running water across the land together with the sediment deposition process (Trench makes the sediment to settle and allow water to go down but the connection of the water is not clear because it will meet the ground level or may go to interflow )
