James Williamson from @teufelshundtactical is a former Marine, highly skilled armorer, firearms instructor, and regarded as a rare authority on all things Heckler & Koch. He is well respected for many impressive reasons, and a genuinely good dude.
It is an honor that he took time to discuss his thoughts on myself and my work at Lazy Wolf Guns, presented to you here in this condensed version of the full length video, available on his UA-cam channel. I encourage you to go watch that and his other great content!

    Sir, this tutorial was a game changer for me. I own a P30 a P30SK in LEM. I also have VP9 and a P30L. Call me old school, but I've decided that the striker fire is not for me and prefer the hammer. Having said that I'm looking to sell the VP9. My P30L is my favorite gun for EDC but I want it converted to LEM but do not trust any of my local gunsmiths who have no track record with H&K firearms. Your reputation speaks volumes and I would gladly let you work on my gun. A few years ago I bought what I thought was a conversion kit off of H&K parts but I'm not confident it is the right one. Having said that, please let me know if your willing to convert my P30L with decocker to LEM and what I need to do to make it happen. Thanks and Semper Fidelis Ken USMC (retired)

    This is the LAST H&K I'd ever consider buying. It is ugly, has a dumb "safety" system, and is over priced even for an H&K. Why would anyone buy one? Grip safety systems are stupid and a terrible design. If you have a safety, then a lever safety is the way to go. Why would you ever buy this over an H&K USP? Why would you buy this over any variant of the MP5 made in America? Why would you buy this over even a Glock for that matter? Ugh, ugly, terrible safety system, and just a crap gun.

    "Sag" has done an outstanding job of making the buying public their test and evaluation team. They would shoot all by themselves when you didn't want them to shoot and now they blow up when you do want to shoot them. Garbage.

    You are missing the biggest failure I experienced with the P7 -- the sear lever spring (that long L-shaped thing with a loop on one end. Over time that spring will WEAKEN, especially if you over extend it during assembly/disassembly. When it is weak enough, the P7 will double fire on a single pull of the trigger (very occasionally) because the sear lever simply will not pop up fast to catch the sear. But, it may pop up just enough to pull the firing pin block down just enough. It'll sound like the fastest double tap ever, so fast that the 2nd round will go off while the pistol is still recoiling from the 1st shot and go way high. Originally, I though it's the sear that is worn because I could see a little rounding on the bearing edge after 20 years of use. But, replacing the striker did nothing. The problem still persist very occasionally. Replacing the sear lever spring brought the instances to an end.

    Fractured TIG welds must be from excessive bullet weight, or firing +p+ loads. If I recall correctly, HK recommends light 9mm ammo, like 115 grain. Despite owning one new since 1985, I have had zero failures due to parts breakage.

    • @timk4502
      @timk4502 Місяць тому

      No, I think the opposite. 124 and 147 grain! No '+P+' rounds in the P7!!

    Rick did a full action job with short reset modification, NP3 finished internals (and a few other things that I can’t remember) on my HK P30 LEM several years back. It is one of the coolest pistols I have ever fired. Unbelievably smooth and easy to shoot, and the short reset mod makes a huge difference! He is also a first class gentleman and a pleasure to deal with.

  • @stephenchadwick7992
    @stephenchadwick7992 6 місяців тому

    so you tell everyone what they cant do with the pistol and what they are going to do wrong if they even attempt to disassemble the gun. The fact that HK makes the process so impossible already is a red flag in itself. I understand that this is how you make a living but the fact you can show us just how dangerous it can be but you aren't even willing to show the proper way to disassemble that part of the gun( literally just the pin) To someone who likes to know the ins and outs of my own pistols i find it kind of ridiculous that it is so hard to find real information on the vp9 series of pistols. They really don't want us doing any maintenance to the gun for free. Even if it comes down to safety. "its not at all safe to do this yourself so please send it in to me and pay such and such an amount to literally just take out the darn pin. I've owned lots of other pistols from berretta's , m&p shields and 2.0 series pistols to 2011 pistols. all of these pistols have tons of information on how to work on them yourself. So lets just take the whole safety issue out of here cuz in reality this is simply an advertisement for the business. Its not so much about safety as it is about advertising the company.
