MASSEY FERGUSON FE 35 PART 3 FINISH AND DRIVE

MF 35 has been a big job but is probably my best and is definitely a keeper . I actually think that petrol tractors are nice tractors but diesel tractors are better work tractors and less fuel consumption .

Переглядів 35511 місяців тому
Tractor needed repainting badly I actually started with 4 L of paint but actually used 8 L . I pulled it apart painted most of the loose parts, bonnet, mudguards, and the main part of the tractor with case paint . I used rust converter on the metal that was rusty and undercoat and painted it . I also fixed up the rust on the mudguard

FORDSON dexta. Let’s repaint it part 1
Переглядів 4,4 тис.Рік тому
I’ve owned this 1961 FORDSON dexta for 25 years and it was in the same condition it’s in now ‘back then because I keep it in the shed always and it hasn’t deteriorated at all. It’s probably never seen a shower of rain in 25 years so I’ve decided it’s time to re-paint it.

I have 2 1943 model zz's. This was a very informative video. Cheers from Wisconsin.
i keep getting asked wny do i keep the Toolbox full of whitworth sizes that my grandfather left me they are very old but still they come in very handy some of them are allmost 60-70 years old now and still in great condition
like to see how you got the oil pump out of the bottom of the block
mate, from a bearings and parts guy in seq, this is tops stuff. We do a lot in parts for old tractors and equipment, stuff like this twists me all the right ways. keep the content coming
Been ran without oil for some time by looks of it - bin it off
Great video i am glad to see the detail on the manifold alignment. I have seen a few motors with broken manifold ears and the air cooling cowling burnt out around the manifold area because of misalignment. To save a few dollars use o ring cord and make your own push rod to bottom of head seal. As for fuel pump i had that same problem on a HR 3 cylinder, i believe the motor sat to long and the desiel gum up the fuel pump. I done what you did and the motor is still running. Keep up the videos on the Listers they are great
thoes are great engines. look up pasquali 945. thoas are small tracktors with well the older version of thoes engines. but jea lombardini engines are great. mine even runs on 80% engine oil and just 20% diesel. mine is from the 60s
It's good to have a (relatively) quick win once in a while ;-)
Just what I needed - I am half way in on a TS2 and its so similar I kinda know how to carry on now - cheers from the UK
I'm 73 and worked on these engines most of my life and when I saw that handle still on the shaft when it was running I neally had a heart attack
Hi Ross love your videos. Where do you get your Lister and Southern cross parts from? cheers

Good stuff, Looks to be a reasonably smooth running engine.
Bloody awesome mate. Well done.
Lovely!
She lives!!
Thanks for giving me the confidence to do mine 😂😮
This was awesome! Wish you had more videos with this tractor
Ah brings back memories of working in PNG in the 90s. Most of rural PNG ran on Lusters - singles, 2, 3, 4 and 6 cylinders. Such a robust re-buildable design. Most of em could still run today. I recently reconditioned a SR1, then a CS6, both of which are happily singing away on farms this very day, here on the Darling Downs.
Great vid Ross subscribed and thumbs up..................thankyou
all that grease and crap that is crammed into the cooling fins will not help with the running of the engine lol
I spoke to your lathe, it says "please, please cover my ways when you use me for grinding!" The grit that comes off the wheel will cause a lot of extra wear on the bed and the saddle if you don't. Even if you have good way wipers, some of it sneaks past them, mixes with the way oil and turns into lapping paste. Otherwise, I think your die grinder G-clamped to the toolpost is an innovative substitute for a toolpost grinder! In most engines the valves are actually soft enough to turn with a HSS toolbit, if you're careful about feed rates that also gives a result that will seal well with some lapping.
Great work once again, Ross <thumbs up>
Years ago I was working with a bloke ( Sapphire Qld) who bought up a pile of those SR2's from a Army surplus Auction ,they were all faulty but complete .I think there must have been around 30 of them ..🙂🙂
Looks real nice, where did you get the red paint from?
Use the glowing and it starts. Pump under the tank. Also need a pump regulator diagraph of leather
Tengo uno ygual donde pudo coonsegir sus refacciones saludos soy de México 🇲🇽
Great job!!!
Drain your air tank and use a dryer . You're getting water in your paint. We call those bubbles fish eyes .

Do you know what the part number or actual name of diesel seal
@@truhawaii5957 I would have done but I’ve lost them now after a year or so I’ve lost them
I looked up Delphi injection pumps put the right number in and it gave me a parts breakdown
Came out well, Nice Work!
@@BundyBearsShed thanks Lance
Awesome stuff, wondering what work you had to the radiator, was it a new top tank, I seem to be having trouble fitting mine, it was like yours with the top tube but struggle to get the bonnet to fit really nice, seems to rest on it a bit
@@jakesingles8327 radiator was fairly good. Just had to add a little bit of solder on one spot on the top tank.
G Day Ross, you made a really good job of that well done
No roll frame
Ross, great job as usual. In my experience, the white teflon tape isn't fuel proof for the longer run. I have used the yellow stuff (for gas connections) and that seems to be fuel resistant.
@@mikef.1000 okay I will see how it goes
Turned out smart 👍🏻
Gasket is a must around jets will not idle correctly if any
Very nice! 👍
The shims dont need a sealer as unless the seal is leaking it is only grease in there. Its a big job tidying up tractors eh.
Thanks that’s correct
Sweet ,cant beat playing with these old motors ,i must have a go at mine this summer ,wifes got a list as long as mi arm on fixing house probs first lol . greetings from wales UK . ive 2 old fergie TE20s and 2 old dextas altho i started rebulding the super dexta and got sidelined with other stuff ,you can see them on my channel the working dextas hooked up to a buzz saw for cutting wood ,take care . ps ive liked and subd you .
Hey Ross, great to see you've pulled another old beast out of retirement! I see you've used white PTFE tape on the fuel tap. In my experience this dissolves in the presence of fuel (but may be OK with diesel, I don't know). I always use the yellow PTFE tape for fuel connections, as it can withstand fuels no problems.
Make sure the fuel is on straight petrol to start it first.😃
It is a TEA 6 volt electrics. 😃 The Ted and Tea have a double tank.

THE WORN TEETH WILL STILL DISENGAGE UNDER LOAD. YOU WOULD HAVE HAD SAME EFFECT WITH A BUNGEE HOLDING PTO LEVER FULLY ON. INSTEAD OF ALL THAT WORK. I IT IS NOT FIXED WITHOUT BOTH GEARED PARTS REPLACED.
It looks amazing
love watching engines being restored.great work well done.i service the engine on lexmoto titan 125cc fourstroke engine my self.i have learnt about engines my self self tought.
