    My suggestion for any knife is to use it EXCLUSIVELY for a month before giving a review. AND you need to use enough that you can review how easy or hard it is to sharpen before a review. My expectation is that for the purpose, the Salt knives are a good option when around water. But sharpening going to suck when you finally need to. For a knife that brags about corrosion resistance, I would love to see it sit in a tub of salt water for 24 hours. My guess is the blade would be fine, but the springs would be a mess. If you can't take it apart and replace/fix items..it is a throw away knife with a GREAT blade. I would suggest attaching a little floaty for keys to it. This way it doesn't sink to the bottom of the ocean.

      Great suggestion and thanks for watching. I've been using this knife for a year and although I don't use it exclusively I do things with thos knife that I would never do with any of my other knifes. For example, I keep it on me while swimming at pool parties or really, any environment where I may get wet and more times than not I just throw it all dirty and grimy into my tackle box and forget about it. You make really great points though and I appreciate you watching and commenting!

    Cool to see the knife in action by showing real-world use. Seems like the size makes it great for EDC. No offense but I wouldn't carry the big knives that you compared it to. They look too big and inconvenient for daily carry and it would alarm everyone haha I also still consider S30V to be a premium steel. Keep in mind all the affordable and generic knives out there, they're still using steels like 8cr13mov. S30V is still only for high quality knives and you have to pay substantially more. So relative to the generic knife you would find at Walmart or Big 5 they are really nice. It's just that we've been spoiled by steels like S90V and 20CV (M390) and Maxamet so we don't appreciate S30V anymore

    • @omegaagent661
      @omegaagent661 2 роки тому

      You make a good point, S30V is good stuff and my Benchmade Bushcrafter has that steel and has been a great knife. I prefer CPM M4 now since it's easier to maintain a really sharp edge but you can't beat the corrosion resistance of the stainless steel. As far as size, it really was the mighty mini beast that will handle most normal edc stuff for 90 percent of users with ease. Thanks for watching!

    • @LorianandLothric
      @LorianandLothric 2 роки тому

      @@omegaagent661 Thanks for the response! Don’t get me wrong I think it’s totally fair to expect a higher end steel considering the price you paid for the knife. I just mean that it could be worse. S30V is still pretty good. :)

    Great reveiw man! I appreciate the fact that although you love this knife, youre able to still point out its flaws through an honest opinion. I love this knife as well! Having said that, I want to ask. How has your sheath held up? I noticed that when I sheath mine with out looking or paying attention, that its fairly easy to slice into the buttery soft leather at different angles. I cringe for every time ive done it, and it almost makes me want to replace it and start anew... heh

    • @omegaagent661
      @omegaagent661 3 роки тому

      The strap is still doing good but I do believe it could be designed better. If you're not careful you will cut it off. Also, the buckle comes off way to easily and a few times I've reached for the handle and almost grabbed the edge of the blade. Im lucky to have not sliced my fingers on at least two occasions. But man! That buttery smooth leather just feels so good!! I dont have the heart to upgrade it. Thanks for watching!

    • @rrcaniglia
      @rrcaniglia 3 роки тому

      I bedded some epoxy on the inside of the sheath to protect the leather from the blade edge. Never had any damage. Someone made a couple holes near the strap button and threaded some elastic cord running from the snap to the back of the sheath. It causes the strap to fly outward, away from the knife as soon as it’s unsnapped. Could solve your worry. It is in this video near the end: ua-cam.com/video/D5GVRA8bURA/v-deo.html

    If you want a bigger one, the same knife is the same price, just bigger.

      I love my M4 Blur. More times than not that knife is in my pocket. I don't know if you saw my slo mo slaughter video but this knife was so sharp it split a water bottle in half without spilling the water! Congrats on your purchase and thanks for watching!

    Question: What's the best site for lowest price?

    • @omegaagent661
      @omegaagent661 4 роки тому

      I honestly don't know. I'll buy Gerber and Kershaw knives on Amazon but if its a company that needs a licensed dealer, like Benchmade or Microtech, then I order from bladehq.com. I like bladehq because their prices seem fair, they are licensed dealers, their customer service is always friendly and helpful and they have never let me down. If you are buying an expensive knife you want to purchase from a company's you trust. Even if it means not buying a knife at the absolute cheapest price. Thanks for watching!

      My bad, I forgot to add the question mark on the thumbnail to match the title. I'll make sure to do so next time.
