      I should add that my dogs are perfect in the bath at home and they are very still and easy on grooming table. they do not like shampoo in their eyes. it also doesn't makes sense to leave the shampoo on the muzzle for more than a moment. why let them lick it if you can rinse it right off? even if it's not toxic, it has to taste bad. this just all wrong, IMO. I hope you can put yourself in the dog's position and make a video of a kinder way to wash faces. please also be srue to immediately rinse shampoo of the vulva/prepuse area since that can cause burning in dogs just as with humans.

      It is tearless. If you have a dog with longer fur, the shampoo has to be on for more than a moment to wash the fur thoroughly.

    • @TheCreativeGroomer0220
      @TheCreativeGroomer0220 Рік тому

      As professional groomers, we are very careful when washing dogs eyes and ears. If it was too rough, she would be fighting and biting for the process. If you are squeezing the ear correctly, it most certainly does keep soap and water out. If it did not, dogs would be leaving salons with water and soap in their ears every day.

    How were you so calm when you found s flea?!? We have been battling them for 5 weeks now😩

    • @TheCreativeGroomer0220
      @TheCreativeGroomer0220 2 роки тому

      As a Groomer, I am used to seeing fleas on dogs. I always start with the head first to create a barrier for the fleas and I am very quick when applying shampoo to the rest of the dog to prevent the fleas from jumping off. I know that once I have all the shampoo applied and I see one, it is most likely paralyzed and cannot jump away. This is why you see me in a calm state when seeing them, because I know it won’t go anywhere. Since my dog gets bathed once a week, I am able to keep on top of any fleas that may get on her. If you are battling them at home, I suggest to spray your backyard with a treatment that kills all stages of fleas, and to get a carpet and upholstery spray that also kills all life stages of fleas. It definitely sucks when you feel like you are having a losing battle with them.

    • @TheCreativeGroomer0220
      @TheCreativeGroomer0220 2 роки тому

      The orange discoloration is a result of excess proteins in their saliva. You can remove them by shaving that area, giving your dog filtered water, adding probiotics to their diet will help, you can also do a topical whitening treatment such as Eye Envy. There is also a facial called South Barks blueberry facial that will help as well.

      When you are looking for a face wash, you want to always make sure that you get a “tearless” shampoo. This will ensure that it does not burn the eyes if the shampoo accidentally gets in the dogs eyes. It is not technically “tearless” as no shampoo is, however, it does not burn like most shampoos would. A few that we like to use are Southbark blueberry facial and Hydra face cleansing shampoo.

    I'm learning so much from these videos to use on my wee lhasa apso! He's a bit fussy about grooming, do you have any tips about how to stop him laying down and rolling over to stop me brushing certain areas

    • @TheCreativeGroomer0220
      @TheCreativeGroomer0220 3 роки тому

      Sure! There are a few different things that you can do. I have many client dogs that lay down for various reasons from old age, to silent tantrums😆 I try to work with the dog and do what I can while they lay down. I save the parts that I have to have them stand for, for last. If you don’t have a second pair of hands to help you stand him up, you can use a belly band, a rolled up towel under his belly, treats to get him to stand up and to reward him for being good during brushing time. My standard poodle likes to lay down while I brush her, so I just drape her across my lap and brush her back and her head that way because that is what she lays down for. When I’m done brushing that I will then put her back up on the table and she will stand for her legs and a tail.

    Is it good to applying water on dogs nose

    • @TheCreativeGroomer0220
      @TheCreativeGroomer0220 3 роки тому

      You should do your best to avoid putting water on the dogs nose. Many dogs tend to put their head up while being bathed in a natural reaction to avoid water getting in their nose. If you do put water on their nose there’s a chance of a trickling down their nasal passage and you don’t want that to get into their lungs. Sometimes it’s unavoidable depending on how much the dog is fighting in the bath. Sometimes what you can do is you can pinch the nostrils shut for a second as you rinse over the dogs muzzle. You then release their nose and they will breath in. When they do that pinch the nose closed again and rinse again. This is only recommended for those dogs that are not staying still and just allowing you to rinse around their nose. You should only need to do this once or twice for a good rinse of the shampoo.

    • @TheCreativeGroomer0220
      @TheCreativeGroomer0220 3 роки тому

      Sometimes putting shampoo on is easy. We have several dogs that try to bite at the shampoo application, or run away from and dodge the shampoo. So it’s good for us to include these step by step instructions. The video covers rinsing as well. If your pup is resistant to the method we showed, you can take a cup and slowly and gently pour the water from the top of the head. Another option is a soaked towel and squeeze it out on the head and face.
