I loved CIS right after AotC. They were my favourite faction for a while, before becoming joke of themselves. But I did not have access to much media back then, so it was mostly my imagination what they could be from few lore snippets.

The problem with the Mechwarrior PC games (that I played all until now), is today they feel more like playing COD with a exo-steel suit that can do jaw defying physic moves that are too fast and physicly impossible to perform with so much weight involves, than actually playing 100t giant robots that moves and turn like tanks do in World of Tanks. That's the problem with the franchise and the reason I didn't play Mechwarrior Online. IT DOESN'T FEEL like you are in a BattleMech. Edit: And yes, the Battletech PC turn based game is the best of all of them - that I still play today with over 700+ hours in it since 2020. We really need at Battletech 2, but with all the stuff that is going on, the chances are feint. I just can't believe there are people out there that own the IP and do actually nothing with it.

That's why I currently stick to older SW Games, love to replay them... If I want some fresh air I'll get a party together and Play some Boardgames oder Run a Campaign... I'm glad we have a Star Wars TCG Again, but not I'm worried about it's future... It's nothing to compare with videogames... But it's nice to bring star Wars fans together at our LGS and play some old school Tabletops:) Have you any experience at Saga or FFG? Maybe make a video about it? I'd be interested in your opinion:)

With how big Star Wars is as a franchise there's just so much room for innovation and experimentation especially when it comes to their games. For example Jedi: Fallen Order wasn't ground breaking or anything but rather than being a cheap attempt at mimicking other souls-likes, it did enough to stand out and felt like a unique take on the genre, which was improved upon even more in Jedi: Survivor. Even just a slight change to the formula felt so refreshing and I can only imaging how amazing it'd be if Disney did learn something from Visions especially if they were to implement something like Riot Forge (RIP).

Yes to 'indie' Star Wars! I personally would love Star Wars to tackle the pixel graphic aesthetic again with a side-scroller like the Super Star Wars series from the Super Nintendo.

It is sad how much the legacy of Star Wars games have been tainted over EA's singular blunder. I sincerely hope Battlefront breaks its Third Game Curse and we one day get a true successor to live up the Star Wars universe in a way we can all love.

hey thanks for playing! I appreciate the feedback. A lot of the UI is already on the chopping block with the downtime interface being my highest priority. The story behind the double munitions vendor button is actually a quick fix for the game not effectively communicating there was limited ammo and how to get more. The ammo mechanics were received a lot better when players were properly prepared for them.

Also interesting how Sidious took away both Obi-Wan and Maul’s brothers.

As someone who never engaged with Mechwarriors whatsoever, my big takeaway from trying to get into the series is ... I hate the designs. At least in MW5 Mercs all the mechs are downright ugly to me, but not in the cool industrial way. I'm probably in the minority there, and it likely stems from my preference for Armored Core designs. Idk the MW mechs just look like toys that someone tried to make look beat up

I think you forgot to mention the hugely successful battletech lore series by Tex fo the Black Pants Legion that massively helped the resurgence of the game

I really liked hawken back in the day, however I was also already locked into blacklight retribution at that time which if I remember correctly had just released the first weapon recoil re-work before the ps4 release and that was so good that it locked me in for a while there, until it was left behind chasing that playstation money though that parity patch I swear killed it for me, all that work on that recoil rebalance was thrown completely out the window for something significantly worse. By the time I was actually ready to play hawken it was already in decline and it was a shame. It did a lot right if you liked a more arcade style approach to mech games.

I think it has something to do with the foreign conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq being in full swing at the time the show was released

I never even knew of this series but I'm having a blast in mechwarrior 5 now after finding out about it through youtube.

You kinda glossed over mechwarrior living legends.

The problem is that Filoni conplelty butchered the character of Grievous and failed to understand the entire point behind, and history leading up to, the seperatist movement and the CIS. Basicly speaking, the republic were not the good guys here. They already were closer to an empire even before Episode 1. And yet Filoni somehow portraied the CIS (who are heavily underepresented and exploited) as the bad guys while the republic are the "rebels". The excuse that it is a "childfriendly" or "lighthearted" series, as some try to defend him, is also completly nullified because he has shown us that he can created deep and "brutal" moments. But sadly he has shown no deeper interest in Star Wars and it lore. Basivly he just wanted to smash his action figures together.

MWO does not have the player base it had even 5 years ago. While still good to play it needs a major overhaul to the engine and mission types.

I would love another Battletech game but HBS (the studio that made it and is known for good storytelling) has parted ways with Paradox as Paradox isn't interested in any platform now they can't sell the nth amount of dlc on. Unfortunately they've retained the rights to both Battletech and Shadowrun from the developer so we won't be seeing anymore games in that vien (or of that calibur) anytime soon.

In the mid ‘90’s, there was a store called Virtual World, which had several “cockpit” setups, where you and your friends would go on a flight in a mech and battle other mechwarriors. It was expensive…for the time and my level of income, but it was a blast. They had another game that was a racing game on Mars, which was fun, but I liked the Mechwarrior game way better.

It needs to have animated mechs that look like tge originals. Actual use of ducking and crouching. Tge year is 3031 and these things move like remote controlled ro ot toys from radio shack in 1995. 😂😂😂. Melee is a joke in mw5. And it has no clan wars to this day😂😂😂 it needs to be far less resttictive. These restrictions and blocky dorky moving lugs are garbage. We need a real moving fluid and fluent animation on each mech, plus you have to bring back betty voice. Stop focusing on the stupid jerking cockpit movement and garbage arms in a stuck position and make them live like the year 3000 instead of some garbage steam punk crap. Also stop catering to outsiders who ruined these ideas. The mechs should look like the originals and move in a fluid motion; raising arms and grabbing with fingers, hold guns and swords, and such. This stupid lego movement is just lazy. Make the first real game. AND STOP MAKING TRAVEL SO EXPENSIVE AND EVERYTHING SO DAMN HARD NO ONE CAN PLAY IT. THE TRAVEL VS PAYOUT IS OUTRAGEOUS WHO WOULD DO THIS STUFF AS A PRIVATE MILITARY FOR 10K. IT DOESNT MAKE SENSE NOR THE TRACEL TIME. TO COMPLETE MW5 IT TAKE 55 TO 75 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!! AND BILLIONS OF DOLLARS FOR A GARBAGE GAME WITH GARBAGE WEAPONS TGAT SOUND STUPID. If you want to play a less complicated, faster form but still fun version play Battletech: Alpha Strike

I believe the reason why the separatists are seen as so bad and never centred in the show is cause Clone Wars is supposed to be a Republic war propaganda show, just like radio and TV broadcasts during WW2. That's why there's the war speech at the beginning, that's why the republic almost always wins, that's why Grievous sucks even though he is still talked about like he is a deadly Jedi killer.

I am really shocked how you talked about all of this and you didn't even mention the project "hawken refugees" you can play pve mod and in the next few months they will release pvp mode(currently being close tested)

This renewal has made my heart glad. I've played most of them since the OG, and even though MW5 had some issues I still enjoyed the heck out of it. It is one of those games that perpetually resides on my HD just in case someone wants to run missions. ohh, and i just found my old MW2 install and expansion disks!

You can reproduce that on nearly every conflicht in real life. Did you ever saw a movie about the Vietnam War not from the US perspective? If so you would also notice that the US wasn't their to fight for freedom rather they attacked an sovereign state with the intention of limit the growth of the Communism in the Asian world. Were the Americans really the good ones?

I still think the seperatists for the most part are more bad than good. For one the rebellion isn’t a direct transition from the seperatists like republic to empire and they dont use a lot of their stuff despite there being a lot of droids still available, they were just ordered to shut down. And two rebels like Saw outright refuse to work with seperatists because of what they did during the clone wars even though they face a common enemy. I always saw the CIS as more like the USSR during WW2, like they’re definitely not good but there’s definitely a more evil foe out there
