For Tarpon, pinch down the barb for better penetration, tighten the drag, point the rod tip at the lure, and reel smoothly and slowly. No action is needed. Big Snook will always try to go back under the mangrove or under the docks. Tarpon mostly jump and run. Good video. Thanks.

You probably have done this already, but there is a setting for vessel 'size' on the iPilot/Minnkota. I would adjust to -1 or -2 and see if it smooths out for you on spot lock and just in general. If it is a 24v system/motor it helps. Ignore if done this, but I just did this after 2 years of ownership and I fish mega rips...made a HUGE difference in smoothness.
