    I have never understood this. I watched a video of someone taking these down... now this dude is putting one up. It seems like unnecessary risks involved. For example, why is there not a wire cable running from side to side that they can attach to as they take these up and down? I assume they take them down to inspect them. Or even better, why not use the OLD system as you run the new one in? Then remove the old one AFTER the new one is in place?

    Anyone know why they don’t wear parachutes in case of falling? Seems like that could be a good backup (unless I’m missing something)

    • @jamesalexander5588
      @jamesalexander5588 Місяць тому

      I think they'd go splat before the chute opened properly.

    • @avypath
      @avypath 5 днів тому

      a parachute would take time to fully open before it even started slowing them. by then theyd already be on or near the ground so it wouldn't make much of a difference. plus the parachute might get caught or torn anyways

    Looks and sounds like he has a belayer. Hes not top roping / using a descender. Ive climbed trees and i use a similar method using all the additional loops and beaners to move the fall point closer when progressing. Climbing harnesses for working are like sitting on a swing. Not comfy for long periods but wont kill you. As long as your concious. If your knocked out then the harness can cut off blood flow. But so will a fall harness. When the stadium was being built, i saw some other guys on the roof. They looked so tiny being that high in the air. Awesome video. It showed technique needed for that structure. Which took 2 people for safety. And how climbers need a range of skills. Not just rescue, trees, or rock climbing.
