Setting Up A Time-Lapse Camera Before A Huge Snowstorm At Erie Bluffs State Park | Pennsylvania

Howdy Folks! Way back on Thanksgiving, I went out in the morning for a hike at Erie Bluffs State Park and left a trail cam running on time-lapse to capture the snowstorm we had coming in. I planned to get my camera after a few days, but was unable to retrieve for 2 weeks! Watch the hike and 2 weeks of time lapse footage taken from a cliffside on the shore of Lake Erie in Northwestern Pennsylvan...

The snow started up very early Friday (Black Friday) and by the end of that first day we had over 22" of snowfall with areas waste to chest high! Howdy Folks! I'm back at "The Beaver Bogs" for a night of camping and filming beavers with my night vision binoculars. Ha! How cool is that? I need to get some of these for a friend who really likes Bigfoot. Was that original music, I presume? Well done! I enjoyed your video! 👍
@@fleotusbing thank you, and yes all the music I use is original & I thought this deserved its own song. Good luck hunting down your own Bigfoot!
Enjoyed. I'm a big fan of Jackalopes. Thanks!
@@inthewind3675 thanks! Figured if I'm talking bigfoot I should sneak in a jackalope
Funny because my sister and i were talking about this earlier. Here in Jamestown we had cloud cover right at totality but it was so cool to see how dark it got and the street lights coming on. Im more into the night skies so this was my first eclipse.
Oh wow! Just showed up on my feed. This is awesome! I'm in Jamestown so I know where your at. Can't wait to check out more videos.

Was born and raised in Erie Pa. Graduated in the mid 90's, went to college out of state, never came back. My ENTIRE family moved out of Erie and moved out of PA. God bless you man.
I sure don't miss that weather one bit, I know Erie very well grew up in Conneaut Ohio and spent 30 yrs in Meadville area. I remember hearing people complain about the snow plowing in Erie on TV. But now I'm in sunny Arizona. Be safe back there.

Good Fences Make Good Neighbors. 😊
You're seeing forest now, those rock piles are from farmers clearing rocks from the field; so that they didn't break their plows.
@@rudygeorgiamulesandcountry1594 that's one of my guesses. This area has only been state forest land for around 100 years and some of it was likely farmland previously
@@thegabeoutdoors84 find them often
Those stone were away old timers would mark a property boundary
@@Tbobelak I feel like that's the most likely (but least exciting, unfortunately) answer. Thanks for watching/commenting!
Stones may be glacial deposit from ice age. Some looked rounded. They may have been rolling stones.

Gorgeous area. Thanks for sharing the Fall scenery. Don't see that in my part of the country.
@@inthewind3675 thank you! Next few videos I post will be bursting with fall colors
Nice camp set up. You really have it all figured out! lol.. That's a cute little chainsaw. Looks like a fun place to explore. Question: Are all the sites a short walk from the parking spot? I'm thinking about camping there but will be sleeping in my car but like to have a campfire and prefer to park right at my campsite.
@@karens2318 I gave a little info on a different comment before I saw this one, but look for spots near the "little rock city" area, there are several pull-in spots with fire pits and covered tables
@@thegabeoutdoors84 Perfect. Thanks for the reply!
Yay Kinzua. I was just there last weekend. I enjoyed the visitors center, as well. The previous time I was there there they had put up a metal fence around where the visitors center would go and there was just a giant rectangular cinder/dirt parking lot with not really any signage that I can recall. It's amazing the transformation.
@@karens2318 great PA park!
This is the first time I've seen someone rake their site. lol. Enjoyable video. I am heading to Allegany State Park this weekend and spotted Rock City SF on the map and just read about the camping then found your video. I might spend my first night out there! 🙂
@@karens2318 rock City is great (and free)! The easiest spots to use are near the "little rock city" area and have covered picnic tables.
@@thegabeoutdoors84 That's great! I had been eyeing up a Hipcamp site around that area then happened upon Rock City. Free is best! ha. Covered picnic tables sounds luxurious! lol.
That oven is pretty cool! Pie looked perfect to me

LOL getting away from it all and you drag it all with you and start your fire first, so what was so primitive lol
@@dboyette42 it's the type of campsite I was at. I believe they call them primitive because there are no facilities of any kind just a fire pit.
That pie .... Turned out perfect in the Coleman oven. Did you use your trail cam? Thanks for sharing.
@@inthewind3675 thanks for watching! I set up the trail cam (I always do) but didn't catch anything (I never do). My next video will be all about that pie!

Gotta get this out of the way, right from the start. YOU ROCKED THIS OVEN!!! I'm almost 70 YO and these stoves have been around for most of my adult life and I never used one. They were designed to be used on the Coleman White Gas stoves, that have been around ALL of my adult life. UA-cam is full of folks of all ages, who have just "discovered" this stove, trying to bake with it as it was meant to be used, on a stove top of one kind or another. Who could blame them, right? They don't usually have much luck to start with and they usually get better results as they learn to make some adjustments and then they always seem to come to a point where they add things to nudge up the results even more. They'll add a square of ceramic tile to the bottom to keep from burning the underside of things. Or they'll fabricate carbon felt panels to wrap the outside with to hold heat in or keep out air. Some change their bakeware. I have seen them all. I did them all and still haven't actually used mine. Weird, huh? Just kept looking for the guy that got the technique perfect before I gave it a go. You're that damn guy and I can't believe you did it by using the oven "incorrectly" and with just aluminum foil as the bakeware. I've never seen anyone, and I have watched a sh*t ton of videos, that just put it over a wood fire. I'm truly impressed. Very good video, young man and I will be sharing it and referring it to anyone that I see struggling to use this thing. I'll be watching for more.
@@mrhalfstep wow! What an incredible comment, thank you!
I think this would work well on a tent stove during winter camping
