Fitting 35s on a Toyota 4runner // 4th gen 4runner
Hey guys! I just wanted to make a quick video on how I fit 35s on my 4th Gen 4runner. I’ve seen a lot of people make these videos and thought it would be fun to share how I fit them on my 4th gen 4runner! If you have any comments or questions leave them below and I’ll be sure to answer them!

Hey Guys! Thank you for checking out the video! I figured why not make a little breakdown on the 4runner! I made this quickly on my phone and this was my first time making one so I apologize in advance for my filming and talking haha. If you have any questions or comments leave them below!
Who did the trimming? I may need help.
What about you air intake??
What type of wheels are you running ?? Could you give me the specs
Stealth custom series gen 5 17x9 -38 offset
Hey that great! Planning on doing the same on my 4runner. How is the air intake protected from water?
What lift kit do you have? Is it 3" or 4"+.
It’s a oem king 2.5 coil over and 2.5 shock replacement paired with Btf fab upper control arms and dobinsons rear springs. I would say it’s close to 3” in the rear and 2.5” up front
just did this to mine, looks badass
Nice and refreshing to see a proper wheel and tire combo. None of that rubber band bs
Hawt
What are the wheel specs? I'm looking at what to put on my 17x9 -12mm
They are 17x9 -38 offset
Viper cut the front bumper, it would match your look perfectly. I did something like it on my 05 and made a world of difference.
Tbh Im not a fan of the viper cut on 4th gen’s and I already have enough clearance up there.
What is that tool you’re using?
How are you not rubbing against the body mount with 35s? I got the same wheels coming and offset, going to throw on 285/70/17 hopefully don’t have to bmc
Im was rubbing there ever so slightly but its minor.
Now how did he do the fender flares ? Gotta see it so I can do it 👌
He had to take them off and trim them with the outline I showed him
What suspension you have?
What rock sliders do you have ?
They were custom fabbed
@@jadenrea Nice, they look clean!
@@andresh16 thank you!
You in fl? I would love the guy that did the trim on your fenders!
Im in socal!
@@jadenrea damn , saw them palm trees and was like eh they aren’t too high..must be in fl 😂
What backspacing offset do your wheels have?
Oooff that trim job is rough haha. Hopefully you do better on the upgraded trim. Patience makes smooth lines.
Yeah I didn’t really care about the rear that much. If you saw my other vid then you would see how clean the front fender cut is
Do you post on IG or anything? I’d like to follow
Any regearing, retuning, or supercharged engine for these 35's? Thanks!
Hey man, I got a question. I’ve been building my 4th gen 4runner and I’m running 33’s right now and was wondering if you ever had any problems with tie rods and if so what company did you buy from?
Did you build the bed platform yourself or order it? Wondering if you have the dimensions
Sorry man I bought it off somebody and don’t have the dimensions
Hi man, nece rig! Can you explain what exactly you ordered for regearing
Thanks man! I just called the shop that does regearing and talked to them about my truck and what I wanted out of the regear and got one of their packages for 4.88s. I’m not exactly sure what to order if you’re ordering straight from a website.
Looks awesome. Didn’t catch it on the video, but are you running spacers?
No spacers!
Honestly ✓ Actually ✓ But yeah✓ Lol. Nice truck man. You did good.
Didn’t know there was criteria.
You can clean those gnarly fender flares cuts up with an orbital sander. I did mine and they look tight, but I didn't cut mine with a drywall saw. 😁😉
They aren’t gnarly lol. Some of the cleanest cuts I’ve seen. They were clean cuts that were sanded and have edge trim over them. Guy that did mine cuts fenders all day and knows that he’s doin
How much you get the rig for?
13k
@@jadenreawas it bone stock? I’m in the market now.
@@greeenteeee it had a spacer lift and 33s but that’s it
@@jadenrea ah and you changed that out anyway. Watched the vid second time today, nice simple build. Did not think the V8 would need a regear but guess so w the bigger tires. Still looking for a good V8 4th gen thanks for the vid
SEXY ASS 4TH GEN !!!!
love the rims
What tool is that I want one
Sawzaw
Electric metal shears, also called double cuts on jobsites. Fantastic tools for sheet metal.
Love the Runner, sorry if I didn’t catch it in the vid but how many inches do the kings give you in the front as well as the Dobinsons springs in rear? Also, what size tires are you running?
IDE day around 2 1/2” up front maybe 3” in the rear
Can I get a contact info for this guy?
what kind of tool is that? angle grinder takes forever..
Sawzall
What’s the hood called
Just a factory sport edition hood
What are you running for spares?
Spare what?
was this off Newland / PCH in HB?? Lol 🤙🏽 4thgens 💪🏽
Long Beach!
Any issues with having 35s on the 4th gen 4runner? Like parts wearing or breaking?
I definitely would say you would expect a little more overall wear just due to there being more weight however nothing crazy. Nothing had broken yet and I don’t expect anything to break because this is my daily and I can’t afford to break parts haha.
@@jadenrea same. Why I asked :) But, I do love ripping it when I can haha
What’s your IG
Next video please 🙏
Tomorrow!
Dude for real. It's a body on frame SUV short for sport utility vehicle it's not a car!
Okay man 😂
Ive got 285's (measuring out to 32.9) on mine and even with a -12 offset on the wheels, i still catch the UCA when i try to turn full right. thats the only area im having issues with after all the slicing and dicing lol SPC has some adjustable UCA's and i wondered if something like that would solve the problem orrrrr if i should go for more of an offset on the wheels. thoughts???
Hey man sorry for the late reply! I definitely think the SPCs would do the trick however my buddy had them and they were trashed pretty quickly. Ide say an a little more offset would help. But that’s interesting because I had 285s on my Tacoma with 0 offset methods and it didn’t rub the UCA at all
SPCS have had a ton of issues over the past 3 years. Mine started to rust after a year so I got Camburgs. They've been phenomenal and zero rust.
How bad is it rubbing when offroading? Nice build by the way
Thank you! The rear still rubs slightly but the front doesn’t rub at all. The rubbing doesn’t hold me back from hitting any obstacles though.
just got a 2007 toyota 4runner and how the heck do you engange the 4x4? 4LOW, 4HI, etc. do I have to be on neutral all the time or?
Put it in park and turn the knob to 2h/4h/4L whichever you want and wait till you hear the drivetrain shifting and you're good to go
I prefer to do everything in neutral. I’ve just heard that’s the safest
Love the front fenders, anyway to keep the fender liner after cutting the inner metal? Also, does the guy that did it have a shop or just a buddy?
Thank you! It’s hard to retain the fender liner because there is nothing to clip them to. Yeah it’s just a buddy who does them at his house
How big of a lift is your Kings?
where can i get that sony headunit
I got mine at Best Buy
Hmmmm I need new tires on my 09 4Runner. I was thinking of 35s too. But other than trimming, wondering if I need any more upgrades. I already have new suspension with a bit of a lift. If its just a trim, I might go with it as this trim you did looks nice! But maybe a set of 34s might be better?
You will be at least need a cab mount chop, pinch weld flattening, and a lot of trimming to fit properly
Like that you keep it looking stock, my 2014 runner is set up similar, tires and suspension, some led bulbs and Done deal. Sick runner man
Appreciate it man! OEM+ is the way!
Can you send the info for the sliders
look up FCI metalworks on instagram
Best model of 4th gen runner man! Question did yours come with that black mesh grill underneath of the main grill or did you buy it ? Keep up the good content dude 🔥
Sorry for the late reply man! I originally bought it used with a black mesh grill but then swapped out out with an OEM style grill. There isn’t any mesh behind the grill now. Appreciate the kind words!
What kind of spacer and offset do you have on?
@@poormansoutdoors.6765no spacers -38 offset
So did you cut the flares too or are they something you can buy?
Gotta cut them if you wanna keep the factory flares
