Pharma companies require chronic patients (and as many as possible) to show record profits to investors and everyone who feeds off their success. Therefore, I am afraid that any invention that would prevent the need for insulin and/or other drugs for chronic patients such as diabetes will disappear in one way or another. I still pray every day that they will find the cause of type 1 diabetes, and then the way to prevent the immune system from attacking the cells responsible for insulin production.
