So that actually happened using the program VCarve Pro. When I set up a job, my machine requires the Z zero to be the machine bed and not the material surface. I had accidentally selected material surface, so the machine thought that the top of my spoil board was actually the top of the material and as a result went down too far.

Once a find a machine remember that they have different options in a product line. A simple one is a touch off pad. Do you need it, no. Are you going to want it yes. The problem is that you might not be able to add it later. The time it takes to measure and test a bit will pay for the pad . Other thing to think about is the type of table. There are three and only two work at high elevation. A fixture table and a vacuum table. Yes region blowers exist. They are just the same thing as a fixture table in my area. They are not able to pull negative Mercury. Even a factory set Becker pump will have a hard time but they will do it. You just need to have a tech calibrate it if you are over 1,500 feet about see level. I'm at 2,800. Ask if the vacuum is available to work in vill Colorado. They are a mile above see level. There is nothing more frustrating than having to screw down parts on a new $60k machine because a salesman said it would work. If you ask the question make sure that it is in the contract. I added regen blower and the model number will pull 2inches of mercury in my shop at 2,800 feet above see level. It did not and because it was worded correctly they had to figure out how to fix it or take it back. If you don't see it in the contract then you are not going to get it. Nothing is to stupid to put into the contract.

    How’s the rendering realization?

  • @carlslater7492

Well said video, if I may be so bold as to suggest ... take vendor requirements and add 30% if i.e. if they say it takes 30 AMP ... have at least 40 available. By your standards I am a small fry, chuckle. I have a Onefinity Elite Foreman 4'x4', 2.2 Kw Spindle, ISO 30 tool holder, ATC, 4" dust collection. I am a retired Mechanical Engineer who has nice toys, trying to make a little cash here and there. In a previous life I wrote and lead software teams that wrote CAD plugins for an aerospace company. I actually suggest folks get a CAD package BEFORE they get a CNC ... if you are not comfortable in CAD you are gonna hate the CNC. One last comment if you are over 60 in the USA most states let you take classes at colleges for free, you just pay lab fees. I got to play with 3 & 5 Axis Haas machines.😎

    • @KBCabinets

I really appreciate the comment and you are correct about the power. Making videos is a challenge because you always watch them and say man I should’ve included this or that.. . That’s really cool set up you have! There is nothing wrong with being on the smaller side. When I retire that’s exactly what I plan to do. You are correct about CAD. My father is a good example of someone who is a very talented woodworker, but because he did not grow up in the computer age his CAD skills are less than stellar (hopefully he doesn’t. Read these comments!) knowing exactly what you need to do, but not having the skills to make it happen on the CAD side is a terrible feeling. I did not know that about being over 60. That is definitely a good thing to take advantage of especially if you can get your hands on some of those nice expensive machines that universities can afford!

Hey, I just started using Cabinet Vision in March. I've had struggles to say the least. I am currently trying to tackle illustrating fluting on a complete wall. It's not that the CNC needs to cut it but that the customer needs to see it in the drawing and 3D render. I have tried to apply a case molding, too many paths. I have tried to upload a photo into the textures and apply it to a panel, no dice. I have tried making the panel a beadboard door, no dice. I'm not sure how to accomplish my goal and my experience in the program is limited so I don't know the best ways to manipulate it yet. Have you done this before or have any advice?

  • @BakerDerekj

flutes are just lines in the panel evenly spaced. usually using a miter miter bit 1/8" depth into your panel. just for looks mostly

This video is ment for a beginner in making cabinets..? In order to be able to follow this workflow you do need a full 1,25x2,50 meter cnc bed... Majority of beginners don't start there cnc journey on a (semi) professional machine with vacuum holding and automatic tool changer. Majority of beginners will have something in the range a 6090 and will be able to machine a board of 620x2440mm (½ a sheet). Your workflow will drastically change on those smaller beginners machines.

Thanks so much for the measurements and clear instructions. I learned some tips on shortcuts with moving and guides(which I think are mandatory). Some quick tips...you can enter fractional numbers and hit your = (equals) key and it will automatically convert it to decimal in the entry fields. so for ex...you have a guide set and you want to offset it 3/8 of an inch...you would just enter (3/8) and hit your = key and the number will convert in the box to .375. Also...lets say you want to move something that is some random set place on your door but you want to move it 3/4 to the right, you would set a guide to the point it exists now, right click to open guide properties and in the "new position" box..scroll to the end of the numbers already existing and type in +3/4 then hit your = key to have it automatically calculate the new position and hit apply. so in the box, it would look something like this... 5.678123+3/4...hit your = key and it will now show 6.428123 as the new position and just hit apply. This works for any input box that accepts numbers. The key is the hit the = key right after you do your math. Sorry for the long post and great video.

Not sure where to turn next as I have spent a couple of hours with a tech trying to solve but I installed 2023 update from v11 and now uniboard and prism texture packages will not work. Can’t find any answers or even info on where to purchase or download anything. I can download onto my computer and when I import them, says they imported but then not showing up anywhere. Very strange and tech says might be because advanced no longer will work? Doesn’t make sense because it’s the same package I’ve been using for over a year. Like the software but really tough finding answers so hoping maybe someone will see and know of a solution.

    • @BillM61440

After you download the package you have to "install" it in Cabinet Vision. To do this you'll need to have all jobs closed and be at the beginning splash screen. At the top of the screen you'll see the "File, Main, and Utilities" tabs. Go to the "Utilities" Tab and click on "Setup Package", and the "Package" dialog box will appear. Click on the "Import" tab, then click on the "Open Folder" Icon. This should automatically be directed to your Download directory. If not, find your downloaded file from this window and select it, then click "Open" in the lower right corner. (The right side of the Package Window should now display the package you downloaded with check marks next to each new feature, along with a Green, Red, or Yellow button - the colored buttons are labeled just below as to what they mean. You can pick and choose what parts of the package you want to install from here.) For the most part, because this is probably a new package for you and you wouldn't already have it on your computer - don't worry about the "Add Prefix" button; in the "All Matches" box have the "Use Existing" button marked; leave the "Child Matches" area blank; and leave the "Toggle Overwrite" button alone. Click on the "Import Package" button. (You'll see a progress bar at the top right of the screen indicate that it is installing your package, and an "Import Complete" box will appear when it is finished.) Click "OK" on the Import Complete box, close out of that box, and you're all set. You're package should be ready to use.

Re-reading your question here, it looks like this issue MIGHT be a bug with v2023.(?), like your tech indicated. At first glance I thought you were talking about installing a typical package, but now I think you're talking about upgrading from v11 to 2023 where something broke. Upgrading from v11 to v2023.1 and/or 2023.2 can be a good upgrade. There are many new features, but also a few bugs. I would NOT recommend upgrading any further until v2024.1 comes out. The last versions 2023.3 and 2023.4 make the program VERY SLOW, and added a number of other bugs. They know about these and have the 2024.1 version in Beta now. It's running late for release, but better that than another broken version. From the Beta testers responses so far, things are fixed and it's looking better.

@@BillM61440 Sorry but I have to step in here. 2023.4 is not "slow" it was all caused by a microsoft update to the Access database engine 2010x32 and 2016x64 the slow issue is very solvable by tech support

I believe your answer is this one. "What is happening is when you import the textures, they are being placed the CV 2023\Database\Graphics folder, and they should be placed in the Common 2023\Database\Graphics folder. You can navigate to the first folder, copy the thumbnails, and paste them into the correct target directory. "

Hi, the CV is great if you have to do a lot of standard cabinets, but can it be used to make a one off custom cabinet where every part is placed manually? After reading all the manuals and watching all the videos available, the answer is still not clear. For example, I have an empty base cabinet and I placed the left end and a door - hinges are not automatically added, and there seems to be no way of adding them manually using menus and dialogs. Is it possible at all? Thank you.

    • @xavierlx
      @xavierlx 4 місяці тому

The answer to your question is yes you can absolutely place every part manually if you wish. you can hide all the parts in a cabinet and start from scratch or hide just certain parts and manually add others.

So far it’s been pretty good. Definitely an upgrade from what we were using before. I really like the glue jet system. They only issues we have had so far is there is a piece of sheet metal over the conveyer belt at the out feed area that is meant to keep any debris from traveling down into the track area. A piece of wood somehow got pushed down and caught the edge of it bending it up. No idea how it happened but we straightened it out and it seems fine so far

That helped me understand the Guideline system better. Different than what i am accustomed (I use base 32). I have been designing in Fusion and bringing it to Aspire to create the gcode. this simplifies it a little. Especially how i use my CNC as my table/workbench/CNC. I often only want to cut 1 piece. being able to design accurately in Aspire would save time.
