Beautiful top, it looks gorgeous on you! ❤️❤️
Thank you so much!!
Great video and my first one with you. I really enjoyed it. Some super choices too, a few of which are already in my favourites on Ravelry. Free patterns for first projects is definitely the way to go. I think I might go for one of these for my first sweater. I've not knit a garment yet...I'm currently on my first proper project which is a bear. But I'd love to sink my teeth into something I can wear.
Welcome aboard!
Beautiful, beautiful top! You did a lovely job & it fits you perfectly. Bravo!
Thank you so much!
Just discovered your podcast and I was hooked after the first few edits! 😀 I really appreciate the good lighting and sound. The Underlace Top is absolutely beautiful, love the thick opaque fabric. Another option for the hem would be to do the folded hem with 1 strand only, especially since your gauge was identical. The double layer of the folded hem should fill in any gaps I think.
Thanks for joining!
Hello from equally hot (or maybe hotter) Portland, Oregon. Very much enjoying your podcast.
Awesome! Thank you!
The top suits you so well, Charlotte! Enjoyed knitting through your episode 🥰
Thanks so much! 😊
The top is stunning! It goes straight on my queue. Thanks for this quick episode
It was such a fun project and came out great!!
Stunning!❤
Thank you! 🤭
LOL You are a very funny lady. Love you. The top is fantastic. I pray you have a great weekend. Thank you for sharing. Thoughts and Prayers. Love and Blessings. Doris, Penrith 🇦🇺🦘
Thanks Doris! So good to hear from you! Pray you are well and happy these days :)

Just curious, did you bind off in pattern? Also, sometimes I will go up a needle size or two when I do a standard bind off so it isn’t too tight. Once again, I thoroughly enjoy your podcasts! You give such great information about the yarn and patterns you make. And, your projects are so beautiful! 😍 Thanks again for sharing!
I bound off in the 2x2 rib pattern.
Thank you!
Hi, just about to watch. Where does Lady stay when you are away?🥰 you must miss each other😐💚
I miss her terribly! And she is with my family being well taken care of!
@@everystitch.counts I bet. thank goodness for family care. What a great reunion it will be with Lady. 👍
What an amazing combination between the pattern and yarn - your top is stunning!
Thank you so much!
Hello from Swansea, Illinois.
Hello!
Claudia Q is a national treasure! Love from Canada ❤ 🇨🇦
I can’t wait to start mine! They are so feminine and delicate!
Fun video! I’ve been wanting to try that Queensland’s yarn. I can’t wait to see how your experience is!
I’m so excited to start mine!
The April cardigan is a lovely saddle shoulder cardigan, I love it ❤🧶
Thanks for the suggestion!
Haha I don't know your age but you look fab 😂 loved the music you put in fhat section
Thanks 😅
I love the Manchelopis colors you got. I find it a bit softer than Nutiden (or maybe less toothy is a better description). I've only made a couple winter accessories with the single plate I got from a destash, but I would use it again!
Thanks for the tips!
The Classic isn’t free…followed the link and there is a fee.
It used to be free! This was made almost a year ago and it seems a couple have now been out behind a paywall. Apologies but I can’t control that! Maybe I’ll make another one that is updated in the future :)
I loved the episode! ☺️ thank you for sharing your thoughts and plans and projects ❤
You are so welcome!
Excellent video. Love all the yarn that you brought. It is nice to see that you brought different colours. That pink summer top looks awesome. I have learnt so much from you. Colour base and what colours that compliment each other. Thoughts and Prayers.Thank you for sharing. Love and Blessings to you and Lady. Doris, Penrith 🇦🇺🦘
I can’t wait to see how the pink and blue look when done! Hope you are well!

Loved seeing you at the festival ❤❤❤
You too!
Garden cardigan, or one by Isabel kraemer maybe?
Oh I love her!
Lovely lovely video! It was not at all rambly; just very lively! I am currently knitting a cardigan because cardigans are a huge need in my wardrobe. I am knitting the Mouliné cardigan by Le Knit (Lene Holme Samsoe). It's very basic but the back/shoulder construction was fun and engaging. I'm currently powering through the 7 cm bottom ribbing (I will get there...). I'm using a single strand of yarn (Ullcentrum 3-ply). I've never tried Manchelopi but I remember Jessica McDonald talked about it in a video (I think the one she made at the end of 2023 reviewing the yarn she used in her knits). She was delighted when she first finished it but the sweater was shapeless at the end of the year (she did say that she wears her sweater "hard"). Maybe if you pair it with a strand of mohair, you would add durability? (But your sweater wouldn't be just "toasty" at this point...). This may not be everyone's experience, but I thought I would mention it fyi. I hope people who actually used this yarn comment to confirm or correct what I said. Also I think Manchelopi is from Spain, not Italy. I absolutely adore all the colors you have picked on you! I am so looking forward to seeing how everything develops. Thank you for filming a wonderful video! I had a lot of fun watching it.
I have watched a lot of content about the unspun and I heard similar. I think gauge matters a lot and just how hard you wear your sweaters. As of now I don’t wear and tear my sweaters to much. Unless they were made specifically for that!
Hello Charlotte! I love watching your videos they are so fun and relaxed. I've bought nutiden many times and the trick is to be on time and know what you want. When the updates happen I would always log in a couple minutes early (patreon member) and throw everything I wanted in the cart and checkout because colors go fast. Having PayPal to check out quickly was really helpful too. While each blend of nutiden is different most of them are softer than istex but not as soft as wool dreamers. They are definitely rustic yarns but the colors and the way they blend them are really what makes it special. For sweater quantities usually 500 grams will make a normal sized sweater for your size. I tend to need a bit more because I'm larger but the 500g bags should be plenty for you. If you want to make a long cardigan or coat like thing you would need more than that though. If you would like to try it I have some colors I would be willing to offload and send you. I have way too much lol. Just shoot me a message and I can send you some and also recommend a few designers who design for nutiden/unspun a lot.
Oh my gosh such a generous offer! I’d love to try it! If you message me on Instagram maybe we can find a way to trade or exchange!
Hi Charlotte ... i just wanted to say i think the purple colours make your eyes pop, which is a good indication that you suit the colours and also the Taupe too. I am wondering if you are a Winter Colour Pallete? I had colour Analysis when i was in my 30s ... I had got my colours so wrong! I really enjoy your podasts ... FYI, you dont talk too fast!
I think I lean more neutral or cool tone! Hahah time to embrace the brights I guess!
Hi Charlotte! Love your videos! I am also looking for a cardigan. I have on my mind the Perfect little cardigan PLC from Pia Trans. Or the Hirne from Kate Davies. And from an old Laine magazine the Water Lilies Cardigan from Claudia Quintanilla is another good one. I hope I can make them all :) Love to see, what you will knit out of your lovely wool. My wool for this project is from A Knitters World the yak silk blend.
I can’t wait to see the book!
It's funny that you were too "awkward" to ask for a photo - because so was I at Flock but it was great to meet you IRL and compare Tessellated Vests! Great episode, as usual :) (that's me, a 40 year old, using "IRL" on a post on the internet, because I also do not fit into any particular generation)
Next time!
I couldn't help but laugh when you were talking about seeing yourself as your age. I'm going to be 30 in a few months and I feel that so much!! Love your knits, i'm happy to get to see some updates!
Hahaha hit me hard this round 😂
Hi!! It’s ewe knit T.O because it stands for Toronto:)
Thanks!
The Kylie sweater omg, going to be SO cute
Right!? I can’t WAIT!
Thanks for sharing. And thank you for splitting this into yarn weights, that was super helpful. 😊
Glad it was helpful!
Hello dear, just to say that your shawl result makes me smile. It is femininity in its best. And in a knitting world of ours in wich 99% of the garments which are made are rustic and not romantic and without any majestic style your shawl is a wish of mine come true.the option of making a fine wool garment with elegance is allways there but most of the ladies do not make them and the softness of being a woman is lost.so, Thank you. 🎉 Shilhav Kest
Oh my gosh this is so sweet and inspiring! Thank you for sharing! I am trying to embrace my femininity more!
First let me say you are absolutely gorgeous secondly you are incredibly helpful for beginner knitter. What a great heads up. Very thankful for your contribution of knitting knowledge 😊
Oh my gosh you are so sweet! Thank you and I’m glad it was helpful!!
Thank you so much for making this video. I think we could all learn a lesson from you and be happy with what we have. We live in a society that always wants more and more and more instead of reflecting on what we have and being happy and finding the little joys in the little things instead of always wanting big things things that often we can’t achieve, thank you thank you thank you❤
Thanks so much for watching :) this wasn’t my usual content but it still rings true for me today :)
Thank you but it's not a free.
I know I’ve heard some of them are now not free. Big bummer. But at the time they were free patterns :)

Omg Girl, Are You As Excited For Fall As I Am? I Hate To Be A Trend Follower, But I Am Nuts For These Stephen West Mini Shawls. I Can't Help But Wonder If He Took My Suggestion. I Love The Sophie Scarf, And Am Crazy For These Mini Cuties!
Yes I am!
The sweater you're wearing is gorgeous. Is there a pattern for that?
This is something I bought at a thrift store years ago!
Hi! I knit the talvinen as a tee last year. I started many rows down the neckline and cast on many more stitches, basically I just "left out" the top inch of the neck but kept my size the same. I'm obsessed with it 😊 I also omitted the crazy bottom colorwork and just did some small details.
I almost never opt in on the bottom colorwork. Lol
win
Thanks!
Hi Charlotte, I am living my best summer 🌞🏝️ I have always enjoyed your videos Right from your very first one 😊
Good for you!!
The sweater is wonderful and certainly looking good on you. In regard to styling: tweed pants would be classic or maybe even corduroy. A miniskirt in corduroy might be nice. Or a miniskirt in a shiny evening out material if you enjoy contrasts. There are many options and I am sure you'll select what works for you. There might be styling videos for this type of sweater.
I totally agree!
This is such a stunning sweater! Love it 😍😍😍 I‘m much into oversized clothing although I ammore on the shorter side 😂 (166 cm). That‘s why I‘d wear it with wide leg pants in a soft Color like Creative and beige, most likely in a wool and silk blend. But that‘s just my personal style. Maybe also because I‘m in my fifties and beyond the Mini skirt phase 😉 Enjoy your beautiful new garment!
Check out Leslie Friend of a Friend to Friend knitting podcast. She has great style and shows how she wears her knits. Enjoyed your podcast!
Thanks for the recommendation!
Hi Charlotte, it’s super chilly in Brisbane Australia right now so I’m powering through my big knits without the need of aircon while I can 😂 I definitely agree with all the comments about pairing your weighty cable with a skirt and boots, maybe a slim line mid calf black skirt in stretchy jersey or similar with a side split (height to be determined by your levels of sass!) and ankle boots, black or taupe/tan? I may be channeling winter festival mode right now but I’d probably top that with a felt fedora or Aussie Akubra… copious friendship bracelets etc 😊 I say “I” but I more likely mean my daughter who would be much nearer your age! I think as long as you stick with slim separates you can make that sweater work with more than jeans. I really enjoy your podcasts, informative, engaging and to the point, and how you style your finished projects.
😊
Congratulations on your first year! The sweater is gorgeous. With your height, you could totally wear a mini skirt (and tights if super cold). Perhaps check out the Marie Walin patterns of models pictures for styling ideas. Thanks for another great podcast. Terry
Great idea!!
You have knit a beautiful shawl!
Thank you! Cheers!
Love your podcast! I always take away something new from every one. I can see that beautiful over sized cabled sweater with a tight fitting black maxi skirt and boots. Would look so classy on you. Can’t wait to see your latest WIPs! Thanks for taking the time to share what you are doing and learning.
