    Hello Charlotte. I love the colours you have chosen for your knitting. The colours suit you very much. The Tessellated vest, looks nice. Looks very hard to do. The colours are nice together. I am knitting a baby blanket in Chenille wool. Nice and soft. I have also started to do some Tunisian crochet as well. It is easier on my wrist. I have only started to make test patterns. They are fun to do. Some patterns are hard. I found three easy ones to do. They look really nice. Happy Birthday to your Grandad. I wish him all the best.
    Thank you for sharing. Love and Blessings to you all. ❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏 Doris, Penrith 🇦🇺🦘

    I’m with you, I prefer making my knits with sturdier yarn because I plan to actually wear my knits and don’t want to “baby” or not wear things out of fear they won’t hold up. I also don’t get the spincycle hype - it’s pretty but now there’s so many yarns like it, especially more affordable. Happy Birthday to your Grandpa - 100 yrs, that is amazing! Birthday 🥳 🎂

    I don't like spincycle either.....now we've both said it! I feel like it is shiny and fiddly with the need sometimes for color management. I really like the junction fiber mill color changing yarn much better. and the one from Primrose as well. Having said that, your vest is beautiful

      Uh oh! They might come for us! I think a lot of people make really cool things with it. But they just aren’t my style most of the time. Everyone has their own preferences! But yes, personally I agree with you. Fun to try, but can’t see myself purchasing a ton of it in the future.

    Thank you for a lovely episode, you are very enjoyable to watch. Your Sophie scarf is very pretty, I might have to try one. I am also a tall girlie and I usually avoid wearing something tight around my neck because I think it gives me 'lollipop head', but the scarf looks so classy on you, I think I should consider it.

      Yes, go for it! I know the feeling. I hated being tall when I was younger. The older I get the more I embrace my bean stalk stature 😂

    I love our colour palette, the colours are stunning and really suit you. I also love from your previous podcasts how your jumpers fit you so well. I watch a number of knitting podcasts and a lot of them prefer the drop shoulder look which is fine but I much prefer your style. I’m in my infancy knitting phase and hope to be able to knit something that fits me one day 🙀😺 Happy Birthday to your Grandpa!🎂

    I am not a very advanced knitter, but, the I agree with you , I love more rustic yarn.
    It has a better grip and it is so much warmer.

      I find the grippy yarn much easier to work with! I find I don’t drop stitches as easily!

    Did you add length to your vest? I’m going to knit it and I’m also tall.
    I agree with your spin cycle comments. Ironic as I’m going to use it for my tessellated vest but with a mohair and a rustic yarn which I’m hoping will make it more substantial/sturdy.

    • @everystitch.counts
      @everystitch.counts 10 місяців тому

      I think I added like an inch in length. But I did have yarn left and I make a size two. So I could have added substantially more and would have had enough yarn. In hindsight I maybe would have preferred it I had added like 3-4 inches of length.

    I don't get the hype around Spincycle yarns either! Many hand spinners sell their yarns online, or you can get by using any number of the marled colour changing yarns that are around. Either the Spincycle copycats or Zauberball who were doing it first anyway! I hope you have a wonderful birthday party with your family, tell your Grandpa if he lived in the UK he'd get a birthday card from the King. If he wanted one that is!

    The past tense of cast on is 'cast on'. Like, I cast this on last night. Please join me in killing the UA-cam-driven 'casted on' thing that is starting to pick up steam. The dorky term 'gifted' gained traction on knitting UA-cam and then kept going and locked in. It sounds so dumb -- it's a callback to stoners saying 'let's party'. Does it matter? Yeah: would you say it in a job interview?
