Oh my Lord! This is my town, and who told them that the Red building on the corner was the old movie theater??? It was not a movie theater, and those stairs were not for Black people to enter the balcony! That building was Antonette Hall, and was an upstairs Opera House, that originally had stairs from the front street. Those metal stairs were installed long after the Theater was shuttered in the late 30s and was the only access ( and still are) to the old Opera house. I lovecwhen folks visit here and welcome everyone. But if you’re going to do a video about our history: please be accurate with the narrative. Thank you.
