AI got into my brain 🤯 I used Suno to write a theme song for our architectural project. I gave some details about the project to and Suno came up with 2 verse 1 chorus 1.5 minute long song that I can’t get out of my head. I think it is super catchy hit, or maybe because it resonates so strongly with me ( I wrote a prompt, I put in details of a project that matter to me) but I can’t get it out of my head. I tried meditating but it barely helps. It reminded me a Monthy Pythons “Deadly Joke” sketch where people die of laughter so hard 😆😆😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤪😵💀🪦
I got one too lol
I don't think it will be effective at spreading misinformation in the long term, but if nothing is done it will be very effective at refuting real information. Recording devices will be useless for journalists, whistle blowers, and people trying to gather evidence, because the result will be indistinguishable from fake AI voices. You should be able to switch on an option in your camera or microphone app that gives the raw output a unique ID that's stored in some kind of database, which can confirm without a doubt that it's real. The database would have to be organized in such a way that people can't claim it's controlled by the lizard people, so it would probably have to be decentralized and open source.
This is garbage
Hungry for apples
It is not at all a first amendment issue. Non-US companies are not protected by the first amendment. It also will still exist if they sell it.
Companies are not protected by the first amendment only people are as far as i know
The ladies couldn’t be happier
There are many instances of government doing similar things like eliminating entire towns due to toxins or flooding. I think the question is what to do when there are processes that work to dismantle democracy. Ultimately destroying free speech. This is exactly where dis-information propaganda likes to live. This is not just about Speech. I wish it were that simple, something people of the internet think are solutions are not.
I love Hank ❤
The idea of tiktok going away is a very good one. I have very strong concerns about content creators who value their tiktok careers over the safety of their country. The Founding Fathers could not have foreseen social media and how First Amendment rights are twisted into a tool against general Democracy. "First Amendment" is a phrase Green should never utter until he figures out that placing his desire for more buxx is not a greater good and placing that desire over the general going is a very destructive thing.
Green thinks that the problems with TikTok and other social media can be solved without banning them. If you think the only way to solve things is a ban, that's fine but attacking Green's character is totally unnecessary especially since the ban has already passed so you're getting exactly what you want. You shouldn't let the need to have people agree with you override basic politeness and the assumption of good and moral intentions.
This Rick person hopefully asked for permission to upload these people's data to a bot! I thought you two were going to mention that. It would have been okay if Rick just uploaded the modified no real names to simulate these scenarios.

35:55 that’s why you don’t tell anyone you are using AI products.
Just how DO we move from AI resulting in everyone working harder because they are simply given more to do in their working day, to a point where we use it to help us do less? History suggests this is unlikely to happen until AI takes over completely, making me think that maybe e/accs have a point: it seems it is a zero sum game. Thanks for an interesting show. By the way, in other news, Ukraine has appointed an AI foreign ministry spokesperson (I first read it as foreign minister, but I imagine government ministers will be the last to lose their jobs?), which appears to be an interesting development. I wonder if the person they used as a model for her will become a target for the Russians?
Shout out to Baltimore Banner! They've been doing great work!
Yikes this guy talking about Tesla is misinformed on many elements. Disappointing to see him on Hard Fork. Eeeek!
Love the show AND please please you NEED to include the outro on UA-cam!
I'm in my late twenties and recently decided I need a cord box, it's a lot smaller than the examples showed here, I guess this will change.
When I was young, my mom grounded me by taking the power cord to my PS2. I found something compatible in the cord drawer and snuck in some screen time lol
I definitely have a box. I have gotten rid of many but somehow I always get more.
I have a giant tub thats overflowing. I use it all the time, you just gotta wrap them all up or they get tangled. Save your cords!
That feeling when you have the cord you need just hits.
This is crazy i was digging in my box not to long ago
Had one from the time I was 13
We have a drawer. Its loaded. 😂😂
i use all my cords!
Had one since I was 5. Where’s my gold star?
I started on UA-cam about the same time Hank did and I found myself frantically nodding my head in agreement during the interview. I would just like to add that platform diversification is not just for "influencers" these days. Not only can these platforms like TikTok die but they can delete your account for any reason or no reason. Since many people's identity is their social media identity, losing an account can spin them into depression. If someone has a social media account for their hobby/passion, they better have a website with all the same information.
So did MySpace, AIM, EBaumsWorld, Vine.. Etc just never exist?? This isn't a new thing for a popular social platform to go away.
Amazed you guys don’t know the history of Voyager. The golden record and Carl Sagan. One of mankind’s greatest achievements. The launch was broadcast live on UK TV. There were documentaries about it. It was a massive event at the time.
Thank god its Friday. Btw I’m a woman of a certain age with a cord box.
Exactly!
Ditto!
Why can’t I toss my ancient SCSIs? Is it a misguided sentimentality?
@@juniorhansenjrno you might need those you should keep them.
Review and delete name that is overlaid in error at 47:16
thanks for catching that! I blurred it out!
lol indeed, I have 2 boxes worth of cords that date back all the way to the serial cable days.
What a ridiculously hyperbolic title. No one is saying TikTok should not exist. Just that it should not be controlled by a brutal dictatorship and geopolitical adversary. It’s a loaded weapon pointed at America’s head. We don’t allow foreign ownership of broadcast stations in the US for a reason, and social media is for all intents and purpose a broadcast medium.
How do you use AI at work?
Hank-heads sound off!
Are you worried about deepfakes in your day to day life?
Kevin only has ONE box? He's so young! Also, Colin is training that AI to replace him for cheap when the client fires him.
First one with the like and comment! Thank you, guys, for another episode💚
“the Borg” of Star Trek - illustrates the absorptive potential of Wild , un restrained, A I
And creationist will tell you this is fake as it doesn't fit into their big guy in the sky thing
The end game is a balconized internet, and that is a bad thing. Global connection is citical. Banning tiktok is a step towards fascism for the US. That said, everyone who loves the app will probably just move to whatever tiktok alternative bitedance creates.
This flood of AI generated garbage is helping to accelerate the already dramatic decline in quality on big social media websites. I think we’re going to see a return to small online communities akin to the web forum era because before long the current big social media websites are going to become uninhabitable for anyone who’s not a complete zombie
It’s amazing to think this craft was launched 46 years ago and is currently outside of our solar system.
Almost. Technically it wont exit out solar system for many years
These guys: Tesla is having a hard time Reality: Tesla Model Y best selling car of any kind in 2023. Tesla #1 in customer loyalty in 2023. Tesla sells every Cybertruck they can make with a $20k premium. Huge advances in FSD. FSD approved in China. Its easy to tear down. It's hard to create.
I mean I'm not really an Elon fan. He's a bit nutty sometimes. But the man has: literally created an EV car market where none existed; resuscitated the space industry; became the richest man in the world. What have you accomplished, guy that nobody has ever heard of, that compares to that, that you feel comfortable and arrogant enough to declare that Elon has bullshitted his way through his entire professional life. He laid out a plan to bring EVs to the masses, and executed it: Roadster, Model S, Model 3, Model Y - literally the best selling car in the world. All the while, at every step, ppl like you said they would fall. What have you done?
lol... when he asked the question "how do you communicate with it" I literally said out loud "very slowly" and the nasa scientist said the same thing a second later. :D
A Waist on tax payers money
A waist is on your body. Waste was the word you were looking for. Apparently, you wasted more taxpayer money at public school.
You weren't even born when Voyager 1 was launched and have never payed a cent in taxes in your life. But that's mostly because you're a bot
Sounds like tax dollars for public schools are a "waist".
Thanks for the comment but we're not discussing your EBT card
We should gif dat money to shaniqwa so she can get more scratchers and henny baby
That is bloody impressive
Ancient? Voyager 1 isn’t ancient
Brainwashed, can't get past the dome. You should know that. We are quarantined.
Compared to what we have today, it absolutely is.
I mean, it was launched over 46 years ago… for reference it was launched only 20 years after Sputnik. In terms of space, Voyager 1 is a fossil.
