such a good guitarist he got Jimi Hendrix playing keyboard
@@zork2179 i think Deacon Jones never played with Hendrix...
@@Mrgusfi69 i was just saying that cause he looked like hendrix in the first shot
@zork2179 Aah o.k yes, you're right🤣🤣🤣
They had some heavy card games on the bus..Dave Maxwell loved playing with Deacon Jones on Hammond .No doubt they are grooving in Heaven...R.I.P my friends..!!
@@stevetessier8532 yes!! I agree with you. They were an amazing couple of keyboard players (R.I.P)
Amazing absolutely fantastic, great blues 👌🎸💪💪
Yes!! He was a great influence for me...thank you for the comment!!
@Mrgusfi69 thanks for you 👌😘
I think George Thorallygood dug him 😊...
This cat was ALWAYS burning. Total master.
@@ronmercer7766 yes!! "Freddie King is a Blues Master"😉
El mejor grande guitarrista hay blues en el PARAÍSO maravilloso.
@@ConiAntunez-w7g asi es!!
have you ever loved freddie king?
@@janekwiatkowski5923 yeah!! I love The Texas Cannonball songs!!
sweet baby, jesus. you know he was the best of those three kings. and that ain't no hate. but gimme freddie with or without the cocaine, some food preferably from south of the maxon-dixon line and some sweet tea. an unreasonably attractive woman in her 30s is probably too much to ask for, so i'll limit it at that. i also realize that tomorrow i'm going to go have to trade in at least two guitars for a les paul with 90s, dammit. no; i won't sound him more like him to YOU. but i'll sound more like him to ME. peace and love, you good people who listen to this.
@@xxtemuxinxx hey, thanks for your comments. We all love Freddie's music!!..
@@Mrgusfi69 much love and my best to you and yours
@@xxtemuxinxx thank you the same for you!!
For me Freddie is the man! But let's not forget too what a stellar band he had and the incredible dynamic he had with them. The way they worked together was just out of this world. Blues performances at the very highest level. It doesn't get any better than this.
@@jokermaan1 yes!! I agree too
Freddie "Cannonball" King was just a force you could not ignore. Timing, sound and energy....simply great!
17:43 cookin now!!! Pass the biscuits please
10:30 decon!!!!!! You dad and Charlie... the triangle... rest in power
Esto debería convertirse en un meme para describir a todos los hijos de puta de este país. Gracias! Eterno seas, Iorio!
Was at Dayton’s Hara Arena the night the lights went out…to see the CDB….some kid tried to sneak in thru the roof vents and grabbed a hot wire… both hands burnt off and we were in the dark a good half hour before the band came back on stage..Charlie came up every year to see the kid and I think he helped the kid monetarily for many years…this was May of 1979 of 80….. Worked for Delta then and transferred to Orlando in ‘83….and one day in ‘85 I was walkin’ thru the concourse and I see Charlie and Tommy Crain standin’ in the middle a the hall(I was a redcoat) introduced myself asked where they were headed and Charlie says to Ft. Myers…Cattlemen’s Assoc..had hired the band for a private gig and him and Tommy was the straglers. We talked about Dayton and NYE of ‘76 when the Outlaws CDB and Marshall Tucker played Riverfront Coliseum in Cincinnati…and how awesome that NYE was…I put’m in First Class and told’m I was sorry I couldn’t do more(it was only a half hour flight)..Shook hands and Charlie asked “you got a card?”(business card) I said yep and gave him one…about two weeks later one of the secretaries said I had a box mailed to me in her office… I went up and got it and It had all the merch I think the band had out…With a note “Thanks Steve, it’s the little things! We appreciate ya…”signed Charlie Daniels! Charlie besides bein’ a great musician was an even better human!
Bad to the bone, old time bluesman Rock on Freddy!
I got to see this line-up of the band several times in some really small venues. Manny's Car Wash in NYC comes to mind. He is just one of the best blues guitarists ever!
Yeah, this line up of The Broadcasters is my favorite!!
At his peak! No wonder Clapton (and Johnny Winter, and Stevie Ray, Etc...etc...Right down to Gary Clark) was so inspired by this man!
Freddie King was the man!!😉💪
Saw him at Crystal Palace Garden Party 75......Stole the show.
Really!!?? You're very lucky!! Congratulations!! I think it was an amazing show...
@@Mrgusfi69 76, Clapton was dreadful, big let down, chaotic festival but Freddie was mega.Think he just released Burglar
Los politicos argentinos !
It always wigs me out that he played with his strap over his shoulder, but not his neck. I tried it once and accidentally threw my guitar into the pool.
The king of the blues. Got better and better and better and then died. Imagine if he had been alive in the late 80s for the blues resurgence when people like BB and John Lee, Albert Collins etc became popular again.
Hey, you're right!...Freddie will be more popular than he is in this time...we've got his music and lives on forever.
He did have something of a resurgence at the time of this recording. He was on the cover of a UK guitar magazine around this time so not entirely under the radar.
@@claymor8241 “on the cover of a uk guitar magazine” is hardly a resurgence. John Lee Hooker was playing large arenas as a main act and stadiums as a supporting act in the 80s.
Freddie King at his best! What a voice, those licks and technique. A great bluesman that sings from his toes. RIP Freddie, thank you for posting this.
Hi, it's a pleasure for me.I love the Texas Blues and Freddie's songs too. Thanks for your comment.
Can you hear how Clapton mimics his voical style and his guitar style ?
I think he is hitting a high b note on vocals while playing sweet home chicago. I dont think people truly understand how amazing, effortless and gritty his vocals were! Holy Moly!!!
Te extraño Ricardo
He’s the best that ever picked up a guitar
Sure!! He was the one and only Texas Cannonball!!
Freddie’s one of probably two people that makes say F😈CK when they’re soloing!
If it wasn't for Freddie, Eric Clapton wouldn't have had a career!
You're right, i think the same
I saw Freddie years ago in NJ way out in the pine Barrens. He was fantastic. To this day my favorite is I'd Rather BE Blind written by Leon Russell & recorded with Leon, Freddie & Jim Gordon. They are all passed on. But ...today I am working on that very song to record for a u-tube download with The Clovis Creek Band. Thank you & God Bless you Freddie. He was truly "The Texas Cannonball".🌹🌠🎼

Lamentablemente asi es...😭😭😭
Incredible that this was recorded/played so late (1993, I think). Most of the great blues guitar records are from the 60's.
¿Que opinas de los políticos? Ricardo
Legend! 🙏🏻 Txs for posting this time capsule. 👍🏻
The Late David Maxwell on piano.

One of the greatest just ask Clapton he knows
Sure!! He was one of the biggest influence from Clapton style
My boyfriend Deacon Jones was the Hammond B3 keyboard player❤
He was an amazing keyboard player!!. Nice to meet you Paula.
Se acompañaba de un gran pianista .y un gran organista. El bajista y el batería también muy buenos
OMG those first notes just a pounce who just plugged in!
Eddie Taylor and Jimmy Rogers helped Freddie learn guitar. Freddies brother Benny Turner playing bass
Freddie King - Guitar, Melvyn "Deacon" Jones - Organ, David Maxwell - Piano, Benny Turner - Bass, Charlie Robinson - Drums
Freddie was on a few years earlier that Zoom Lens ( Shotts Band ) fronted by Willie Shearer.
