Shoresy is Tragically Underrated
Shoresy is an underrated masterpiece that blends sharp humor with unexpected emotional depth. In this video, I explore each season, highlighting not only the show's hilarious moments but also its serious undertones and outstanding soundtrack, which is used to perfection. Jared Keeso’s brilliant work on the series deserves far more recognition, and this deep dive aims to prove why Shoresy is a hidden gem that deserves more attention.

    It's a fun adventure until it gets into politics. The fake magical kind and the real world kind. A particular weak point of the series, if you ask me.

    Humor is an opinion though. I enjoy both marshal and Barney humor well enough. Both have put me to tears so. Meh to me that's an opinion not more of a fact between those two. I disagree with the majority of the fandom. To me the ending of himym is more realistic than fantasy. The alt is the fantasy set ending in which bad doesn't happen past the end. I feel like ppl who dislike the og ending also dislike the og ending to "I am Legend" ppl just get too upset over things like that 🤷🤷🤷

    Thanks for making this video. I've spent the last 6-7 years telling people who never heard of _Letterkenny_ that they need to watch the show. I remember stumbling upon _Letterkenny Problems_ on YT, and then having to search for and download the _Letterkenny_ (CRAVE) episodes because they were not yet available on HULU in the U.S. at that point. When I found out about the _Shoresy_ spinoff, I was excited since Keeso's Shoresy character was one of my favorite parts of that show; I viewed the character as an homage to the unseen characters in TV history (e.g. Wilson from _Home Improvement_ & Charlie from _Charlie's Angels_ ) but turned on its head. I expected Jared Keeso to recycle a lot of characters from Letterkenny into the show or include Reilly & Jonesy at the very least, but after watching the show I found it hard to disagree with Jared's choice to introduce new characters, each with their own new personality quarks & personal issues. Thanks for creating this great video and pointing a spotlight on the TV show. (I didn't watch the entire video because I haven't watched the most recent season, and didn't want it spoiled --- I've bookmarked it so I can come back and watch it after I have time to catch up on the episodes.

    I found it to be rife with unbelieveability. That Asian agent Wells weighs, what? A buck 05? She couldn't possibly take down tough people physically. her punches would be like getting hit by a pillow and unfortunately women are now thinking that they can physically overcome big men. You Tube is fiull of videos with women getting lamped by men after a challenge contest, and don't get me wrong, I enjoy them but women still think they are equal to men and for the most part they aren't, in any way. But this series, while entertaining, just stretches believeability a bit too far.

    Why season 3 suddenly the mother offers. An occasional F bomb, but it seems now the writers are jr high students trying to use every curse word in the book trying to act cool for the older kids. Instead they just look like nerds. The last straw for me was the press secretary just randomly saying a string of not even poetically flowing curse words mother effer blah blah blah, ending with the c word. I liked that this show in season one and 2 had kind of more of an old school presidential top gunnish vibe and watched it with my teenagers. The first season had very little sex. Then the 3rd out of nowhere shows male sex including graphic thrusting scenes. Then In comes the token transgender , token illegal, token far right wingers, token evil Christian, token transgender support group.... I can appreciate some organic part of the story emerging with some liberal issues, but this writing is so bad. It is just inserting liberal hot issues for the sake of crossing it off the "list", with zero regard to quality storytelling or quality in general. Shame on you Kiefer Sutherland for just completely exploiting these issues to make yourself feel like you care for others....aka virtue signaling. So sick of Hollywood elite virtue signaling.

    Honestly, if you ignore the last season, HIMYM is really up there with some of the best sitcoms. The development of the characters, the comedic and tragic moments sprinkled throughout, and how every episode correlates with each other. Hell, even the mother was a fantastic character. The embodiement of everything weve been hoping for in the mother. Its just too bad that she had to die in order to make room for robin.

    Dude, I will never understand why Debbie was so careless with Franny. I felt so bad for that little girl, she was so neglectful and just put her in the play crib and would just walk away from her. That’s just one thing that bothered me about Debbie aside from the other countless things, like when she locked out Liam from the house and he just sits outside in the late of night. Debbie became a total bitch after having her child.

    I was impressed by the power system of this series, it reminds me oddly enough of my old favorite game City of Heroes because of the wide range of powers and how they can be combined, ranging from the classical fire blasts to pet summoning to physical stat boosts. And the way you can get very different powers to work together, the choice between specializing or branching out, and how the different power sets work on a team. Very deep and intricate worldbuilding. Often when I read a fiction book in later years, I would think "I could have done better than this", but this never felt that way. I kept getting surprised and impressed. Now, the main character is a mixed bag, but maybe that is intentional. He did not resonate strongly with me, especially after a while. But the writing and worldbuilding are some of the best I have seen in a long time. I kind of wish he would license his system for an RPG setting to make your own campaigns in.

    • @BaileyOrdiway
      @BaileyOrdiway Місяць тому

      Funnily enough, a friend of mine is developing the system into a TTRPG right now. Obviously, it'll just be a private thing for us, but I think the author should do that cause clearly lots of people have that idea.

  • @charl_p
    @charl_p Місяць тому

    I love passengers as a movie and I think there are hundreds of ways the same idea could be written. I agree entirely that aroura shpuldve woken up first and Chris Pratt should have been a villan character I just love how the story can be twisted with just a few adjustments which really makes me feel like a brilliant film was just out of reach but instead we had a good film that could’ve been so much more.
