@Andy Barker Hi Andy! Id like to have a quick chat with you if possible, regarding the z20let maps. I see that you have friends that are into repros, and I just havent managed to get my hands on a z20let complete xdf file as much as I try (and I have for the last 2 years). I don't really have any money to pay for the expensive stuff, so im just using a kwp2000 chinese clone and a cracked version of tunerpro. The XDF file is basically the file that holds the memory locations of editable parameters, so that I can tweak my maps. Without it, I cant move further. Ive been using one that I found online for a VX220 but its very limited. I don't really care about what software I use as long as I manage to get access and reprogram the ECU. Galetto 1260 is a cable that connects to your obd2 port, but it also comes with software, once install on laptop, you can then upload the maps all u need is Galetto, the Galetto software and maps, simples

zlet map is a bog standard zlet map. im not mapper or tech person, the maps were given to me, which i tested on my coupe to check all was fine with them, i just named them what they were, as in ph3,ph2 etc red dot are what they are, ph3 ish maps reddot.bin is 280bhp 320ft.lbs approx the vxr one is slightly higher because it needs vxr afm n injectors thats around 295bhp. and thats about all i can say tbh, we all should know what mods are needed for each phase,

yeah as i explained to other guy, my mate did it with standard unit, but i wouldnt advise it, the red dot with vxr afm/injectors is pretty much same map, but with vxr injectors/afm mapped in. although mate was running around 290bhp with it. mate of mine tried to lower the boost on the ph3, i have used it, but its mixed feedback, ppl saying doesnt feel much different, to felt down on power, yes there is a way, but u need a certain pro software,cant remember name off hand tbh

Andy.... I put the red dot VXR on to my z20leh, and it has huge turbo chatter.... It idles nice and drives nice off boost. But boost and cooling are iffy. Any other maps with vxr injectors and afm mapped in??? Or do you know how i can lower boost on my current map by editing it? Thanks

u can run a standard turbo on any phase, but wether is survives is another matter

without vxr turbo then would have to be ph1, wouldnt advise any higher, although mate of mine ran red dot on a standard turbo, but maybe he was lucky, i wouldnt advise it tbh

red dot is ph3 sportscat,precat fmic and vxr turbo needed 280bhp approx red dot vxr is same as above but vxr injectors/afm mapped in bhp 290 approx

Please, please, PLEASE remember to backup your standard ECU map before you load any map. If a map doesn't work for you and you have not backed up your map, you are in a bit of a helpless situation.

all you need is a laptop pref running xp as easier, but vista and win 7 work sometimes and a galletto 1260. and thats it, oh and plus the maps

Which fitting did you have to get for the Halfords power washer. I have a HP2800 power washer and unsure which one to buy.

im using the kwp2000 and got it to read by turning the engine over, then it would read, but iv tryed everything to get it to write, you know of any reason why it wont write??? any info will be appreciated. cheers dan.

@v11o yes if you have the software, as i had one of the maps i have tweaked to lower boost as 20psi was a bit high,and a m8 of mine has played around with them to acept different mods, so if you have knowledge, then yes for sure

@aberboy007 Yeah I know the flash maps are pretty common. I was wondering if it was possible to DIY tweak my maps, as a bit of a hobby. I'm not expecting to get power increases due to the risk involved, but I'd love to understand what was going on in there. What software is used? For example on VWs?

@v11o they can be edited if you know what your doing and have the right software although, they dont need to be edited as they basic maps that most tuners use, what we call flash and dash,in otherwords, flash on map and drive off

How do you actually edit the maps in the first place?

I've used windows 7 and it has been ok..

@KobraBeatz of coarse, just select read, and that will save the map on the car

Good video. Quick question, is there a way you can save the standard map before uploading the new one? Just in case you want to go back to standard.
