    Hi. I have watched most of your videos and enjoy the content and filmography. I am also an owner of a Polaris SP570 Ranger. I have the 4 seater. I am extremely interested in getting tracks for my machine also to use in the winter. I am from Utah and have lots of opportunities to ride in the snow but the terrain I would ride in is pretty hilly. Does your machine with tracks have enough power to move along at a good pace in hi range or do you run it mostly in low range? Also did you have the dealer do any clutch upgrades or belt upgrades to help with the additional weight etc of the tracks and tension of the snow? Any suggestions you would have for me if I was to get tracks?

    • @TheLandAndLegacy
      @TheLandAndLegacy 21 день тому

      Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoy the videos. My 570 did not have any upgrades done to it, but it is the premium model which has power steering. I think you'd need that with the tracks. I keep it in 4 wheel drive with the tracks on, but it rips in high gear. You do lose some speed since the tracks aren't the same as the tires, but it doesn't have any trouble in high gear running at full speed. I put it in low gear only for big hills or deep snow. So far the Camso tracks have been great. Let me know how it goes for you. Cheers.

    I have broke the long bolts several times that connect the anti-rotation stablilizer to the brackets mounted on the lower "A-Arm" (if you call it an A arm). Is removing to bracket to only way to replace the long bolts? I now know not to expect too extreme an obstacle ( like too steep of a terrain transition or trying to crawl over too large a log or tree trunk) however, putting in the bolts from the bottom up doesn't seem to be an option as the bolts head is supposed to seat in the top. The spacers and washers would work fine connecting to the hime joint if that were the case but the nut will not seat in the top as it is a smaller size than the head of the bolt. I hope I am explaining my question in an understandable way? I just worry that If I break a long bolt afield, I wont be able to get the machine back home? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and video.

    • @TheLandAndLegacy
      @TheLandAndLegacy 25 днів тому

      If I'm following your question correctly, I believe you do need to remove the bracket to replace a bolt, since as you mentioned the bolt need to be top to bottom. I've personally not had any problems with this bolt but will keep an eye out for it. If it does break in the field, I would expect you to be able to make it back safely if you're careful. I'm certainly not and expert on the topic, but this part seems to be more designed to restrict the over steering with the tracks on, so just don't turn too sharply and I'd expect you to make it back fine.

    You might want to adjust those rear shocks to make them a little stiffer for hauling heavy loads. I have a 2015 Ranger 570 full size and use it all the time for hauling fire wood. The 570 has more than enough power to accomplish just about any task. I have pulled out many shrubs around the house and have never needed more power. I have a little over 2,000 miles on mine. Had to replace the starter motor and the float in the gas tank. Other than that it has been great.

    Does the 570 have good power with tracks. Thinking of buying the 570 instead of the 1000. But, worried about power with tracks.

    • @TheLandAndLegacy
      @TheLandAndLegacy Місяць тому

      Power is good. In high gear it rips on the road, but I do also haul full loads of dirt up steep hill and it doesn't struggle at all. With the tracks on it's a tank. I'm sure the 1000 would have more power, but the 570 seems to be enough. You would need power steering as well though I think. I have that on mine and would think without it the machine would be difficult to turn around or control with the tracks on.

    • @TheLandAndLegacy
      @TheLandAndLegacy Місяць тому

      Yes, those back tracks are a real pain, but I think I found a better way to install them. I'll try that next time. I am happy with the tracks, they make that machine a beast, especially in the early spring when neither a skidoo or vehicle would be able to get me in, that machine makes it. The gas mileage with the tracks on is bad. I'm always surprised how quickly the level drops. If I'm remembering right it's about an 1/8th of a tank for roughly 10 km.

    My experience is with modern electrical systems just an idle speed connection doesn't really drive the charge (or the boost) and you need to rev higher than idle in the Subaru to activate the generator to put out a higher output. I've run into the same situation boosting cars in the winter .. idle, no boost .. rev a bit higher, no problem boosting!

    • @TheLandAndLegacy
      @TheLandAndLegacy 2 місяці тому

      Thanks for the tip. I was thinking that too and did a small amount of reving, plus the idle was enough last time it needed a boost, but perhaps this time it needed more. It is much colder now too.

    Hi, have you looked at putting duals on the back tires? It really improves stability on slopes and soft ground.

      Interesting. Not I haven't looked into that, or even see that anywhere. I'll check into it. Thanks.

      I live in New Zealand, and we get a lot of rain, and farmers use the bolt on duals to save getting bogged down and also give a wider footprint when feeding out on slopes.

    Hi there from Upper Pennisula Michigan, how are you going to be warm without a solid frame over your tent ,that could work if frame it over your tent and put moss over the roof for more insulation.

      The wood stove does a decent job of keeping it warm in there as long as it's not too cold and I keep the stove going all night. Last winter I think around -20 C was the lowest I spent the night out there in. It's ok for now, and perfect for most of the year. This tent is a place to stay while I build the 1Km driveway and then the off-grid cottage. It's working well for now.

      Luckily for me, I have many acres of treed land, so lots of wood to be had ;).

      @@TheLandAndLegacy that's great, are you in Canada or another country like Washington or Alaska? Do you get lots of snow where you are? And where I am, we do temps with Fahrenheit which is the normal temperature. And I have 79° F

      @@shannondaytomasko6691 Yes, I'm in Central Canada, and within a snow belt, so I do get lots of snow up here. My initial tent collapse from the snow load.
